  1. All this, "they're having team Xs" licence makes me laugh. There are not a finite number if licences, if the EL only has 8 teams there are 8 licences, if the EL somehow had 16 teams wanting to take part then you can be use there would be 18. Kent don't have to be using anyones licence, they'll apply for their own and will get it. It's not the 1960s with a full league where you need 1 out for every 1 in.
  2. The issue with Doyle isn't the clash with GPs, there enough free weeks in the EL to not ride GP weeks. The issue is finishing racing at 10pm Friday then having to get to Poland in the morning. Run on a Friday and he has a whole day to travel and rest. Then just don't run on GP Fridays like Leciester didn't run on GP Saturdays this year. I wonder how many fixtures some people think the EL has! Theres plenty of time to fix fixture in, even around the GPs
  3. There were two typos. Night = mighty. And dud = did. But typical Poole, rather that debate it, attack it.
  4. And this is why its a great cover story. Anyone questions it and that's the response. Say he was ill and it looked dodgy! As a said a few days ago, I'm sure Rod dud have an accident but it was a night convenient excuse for Matt Ford in the same way Lee Richardsons death was a mighty fine cover to cheat the week after vs Lakeside!
  5. Apparently Len Silver has tonight confirmed Kent will be in the EL in 2016. So who will they sign?
  6. TBF go into a decent pub and ask about beers and you'll fund they'll let you have a try - certainly of more obscure beers. Ok probably not on a busy Saturday night but some will do it. Same with a restaurant. Few years ago was in a restaurant that had a set menu. My friend commented he was tempted by something but having never tried it he wasn't sure. He pick something else and the rest of us ordered. 2 minutes later the guy who had served us brought a taster out for my friend to try. It's a difficult balance, I can see it from both sides. It is risky taking a child out anywhere. So you'd think they'd be able to come up with something. Try and impress the fan from the off. Most people do appreciate being made to feel special, even if it is only a very small discount.
  7. And Howarth signed a 1 year contract at Swindon and how long did it last? Means nothing. I bet if he's back this year they announce him as a signing at some point!
  8. exactly! 7 or 8 points at 2 in both meetings and suddenly the Bees were a theat to Poole.
  9. I dont know if it's still the case but Cardiff didn't meet FIM guidelines in the past. That's the beauty of guidelines and not rules!
  10. The PL has play-offs. Sky are not showing them. The PL play-offs do no exist for Sky, they exist because they bring in a crowd and make promoters money. They bring in a crowd because people like them. It's an added bonus in the EL that Sky like them too, but Sky like them because they get high viewing figure, they get high viewing figures because people watch to watch them, people watch things they like. Thus the play-offs exist because people like them!
  11. It was only 12 hours a few days ago. The poor guy is getting worse retrospectively!
  12. TBF, he got a bit lucky. You can only predict how the original 1-7s will do, injuries and team changes will always mess with that. Although I'll happily claim I called them out as dark horses if he can get some credit. I'm not even biased as it's not my club
  13. But surely the reason his dad told him to stay here until the end of the season was so he could continue to ride? Not so he could be signed off on the sick and play golf!
  14. TBF, whoever is wrong, it once again come back to a lack of mods and people proving they're incapable of self moderation.
  15. So the constant use of terms "Poole hater", "troll" and claims of "jealously" are not attacking posters? One of the worst on this forum for personal attacks is starman along with his mate from Swindon.
  16. So to confirm, they can build houses they just can't sell them until a stadium is built. Right, excellent. So who thinks that when the developers decide to build all them houses, knock down the current stadium and build more houses on it leaving the area for the new stadium empty that after a year or two of them houses being empty there won't be pressure on the council to agree to the sale of them houses or otherwise it's looks bad having newly built houses that nobody is allowed to live in. It's all a bloody scam to build the houses and before people can do anything they have already knocked down the current stadium and it's too late for anyone to do anything about. I suggest people start making a lot of noise/fuss now, because in 6 months time the current stadium will be gone and there is not chance of a new stadium being built.
  17. It's the fact that people were talking about him being ill or picking up an injury to miss the meeting due to his poor form and then suddenly he was out on compassionate grounds after a terrible meeting at Coventry. Sadly, Ford/Poole have pulled too many stunts over the years for people to trust him. All some of us were asking for was details, we got them and are content (I draw the line at happy - as I still think for Ford/Poole it may have been a case of making good from a bad situation). As you say, it wasn't needed, they were good enough anyway and thats the stupid thing IMO, Ford often does dodgy things but even if he didn't he'd still be the most successful promoter of the last 20 years, so why has he done these things and tainted his legacy?
  18. Exactly! The Johnson Paint Trophy probably gets more people watching. What do Sky pay for that? Sky may not pay much for speedway but not many people watch it either.
  19. But if the play-offs only win a play-off title and not a league title nobody goes and nobody cares. It was tried for years, it was called the Craven Shield.
  20. I wouldn't be shocked if he left it so he needed a point or two in Australia on purpose. Win it at "home" and the point or two means even if he somehow gets injured he only needs Greg to drop a point or two anyway.
  21. You have it the wrong way around. People want the title that will make them "Elite League Champions", that would be what you get for winning the play-offs as now. What you could then have is the Craven Shield that is awarded to the team that finished top of the league but would not be League Champions. Im not sure if it was last year or the year before where I proposed that the fans got together and bought a trophy for the league winners to have each season. I had about 3 positive responses. Clearly people are not that bothered!
  22. I would imagine if they went to the council for a one off for the World Cup they'd love it. They hardly want this stadium to be built and barely used. They want World Cups, GPs, Euros etc. Manchester is a sporting city and loves having it's name spread far and wide using sport as the vehicle.
  23. How odd is it that the PL currently has a bit of a lull. Very few meetings happening, all gone a bit quiet. Yet you just know in 3-4 weeks time there going to be a panic to squeeze in the last few meetings. Why is speedway so incapable of fitting in fixture properly?
  24. There is no way Garrity will be a heat leader next season. If he can hit a 6 point average as a second string he will have done well. To use a meeting at Wolves as proof of how good he is is flawed as he's great there, same with the current BV (which is going), elsewhere he'll be quite ordinary - which is a compliment for a rider of his age and experience. You only have to look at the riders he beat this season to see what his level is, he beats some second strings, loses to others, middle of the road second string is about 6. A little improvement may see him hit 6.5 and in a poor team then that may make him a heat leader in name but not reality. Now the year after, if we're still around.... I think most Bees fans can see the bigger picture and would in fact like to see Jason push himself. I think you're mostly preaching to the converted here
