  1. TBF, tonight there job is to describe the action and add a bit of colour. There's not a lot they can find out where they are. That's what Chris and Simon should be doing today.
  2. What are BV doing?! Provide their rider with this rubbish and they can't ride it. What were they thinking?!
  3. 1 he does not. And 2 you can't remember what someone said 30 seconds ago when replying to their posts!
  4. Someone tell Terry Russell that people with experience in this area say that they're still 2 months away form permission. So added to his possibly 6 months we're into June before the Robins can move in. Clubs can't fit in fixtures when a season starts in March so good luck with that one!
  5. I think thats the point, very few people do these days. Certainly those under the age of 30.
  6. Totally disagree. 95% of the crowd are there to support the home team, they want a home win. Send these people home unhappy/upset/disappointed and they don't come back. More should be done in speedway to make home wins more likely. The away win should be a rare event.
  7. Because it was a hand injury, as thats all we know so far from someone whos pretty reliable. And nobody form Poole nor Dak himself have denied it.
  8. Or course Dak dad hurting his hand is nothing like a rider being upset at putting someone in a coma! Had Rod North been in a coma I'm sure everyone would have had a great deal of sympathy for him.
  9. Straw man arguments. You all called robert72 a liar. I have agreed with his point. Yet rather than having the balls to apologise you just attack the next person. Yes, I have for a long time been anti-Ward. The reason well documented and don't need dragging up now. I'd happily move on.
  10. This myth. If you have a 16 team league there will be 48 heat leaders. If you have an 8 team league you will have 56 riders. That means only 8 of the riders in an 8 team league would not have been a heat leader in your bigger league.
  11. Because if it was any other rider Sky wouldn't care for one. When Lawrence Hare and Garry Stead had their injuries did they get a mention? What about the Slovenia GP where the planned reserve Maks Gregoric was in a coma, was that even mentioned?
  12. Just to jump in and defend robert72, I agree with him on the Darcy overkill. Every Sky meeting, GP, Swedish league meeting and SEC round since it has been mentioned.
  13. Since 2002. Wolves beat Eastbourne who had finished top the league.
  14. 1994. No GPs, no play-offs. No doubling up. The sport on it's arse and a World Final at Vojens because nowhere else wanted it! As for the 60s, there were more paedos than you could shake a stick, people dying of illnesses that have no luckily died out themselves. and what was it? 3 TV channels? No wonder speedway was booming.
  15. The annoying thing with Howarth is that if they'd signed him when Swindon had dropped him he was plodding along just fine. But they waited about 2 months, in that two months his form had dropped quite a bit in the PL, so we actually signed a rider who was under performing. There was no thought going into it at all.
  16. If Sheffield had not made their changes you have to fancy this would have been a lot closer over two legs!
  17. Let's assume you could sign a rider, he touches the tapes once a meeting but wins ever other race. He's World Champion. But you also get offered a rider who scores 22232 every meeting. Who would you sign? It's irrelevant that someone touches the tapes of they're still scoring more in their other rides. I agree, Sarj needs to get over it. He could be a better rider by not doing it but it has NOT cost us anything. What cost us this year was Hans dropping two points and the rest of the 1-5 staying at the same level.
  18. So the big news that required a pre-statement statement is that actually, nothing is changing. When will speedway people realise what constitutes big news?! If I go into work tomorrow and tell my boss I has some big news to tell him and that i'll let him know in 2 weeks and then in 2 weeks time I tell him, "I'm not quitting" he'd think I'm bonkers, thats all this is!
  19. So James Sarjeant, the highest averaged tier 2 rider for the last two season is what has costs us points and meetings? Are you for real? Sarj and Garrity are the reasons why we have just had two very good season as both seasons our 1-5 have been one of the worst! Give me a rider who scores 3T02 vs a rider who scores 0010 every time!
  20. Poole have a history of dodgy dr. notes. 2009, Joe Screen. Or just point blank lying, remember the time that Matej Ferjan had been trying for years to get a Hungarian passport, he travelled across Europe for a SWC qualifier to ride for Hungary in case his passport was issue that day but was never in the line up for Hungary but was in German. Conveniently on a day when Poole were at Eastbourne, a track Ferjan hated. You can't trust anything Matt says. He takes legitimate things and twists them to suit his agenda and anyone a little naive looking in might believe them. The Ferjan/Hungary/SWC thing was believable on the face of it. Until you looked into it and saw he rode in Germany, where he'd be advertised as being due to ride!!
  21. The difference is that the Welsh anthem is about how great Wales is, the things we're good at and known for. The Aussie one is the same. The Danish one the same (thought it doesn't mention bacon!) but does have one line about the king but the very next line sings praise to the citizens of Denmark. The Swedish anthem reads a bit "bleugh" tbf. Germanys sings about how great German is and that it's better than the rest of the World, they mention wine and beer for bonus points! It actually translates into a pretty good anthem IMO. The American anthem kind of fits into the same box as the Swedish anthem, its a little less generic though. Our just bangs on about how great the Queen is, asks God to look after her. Very little mention of any of the good in the country, very little about any of the stuff we're great at. Why should we be proud of the Queen? What has she ever achieved? I love the Welsh National anthem. It's a great song with some great lyrics but I don't respect the current British anthem as I have 0 respect for this God we're expected to sing to (he has none for me, and very little for most others, he's a judgemental moron!) and I'm pretty neutral about the Queen. As for Bomber. He played for it. But it was Kildemand and he's the worst int he World for it, so meh. He's an odd one Bomber, some times goes down far to easily, other times makes it far to easy for riders to get by him because he's not forceful enough!
  22. Really? I don't doubt you but I question them. Riders were flying around more on this track than Warsaw! What speedway riders want confuses me!!
  23. Makes perfect sense. So watch them fudge it! Tbf it will need some tweaking as rumours suggest the EL could grow next season so you need to take that into account.
  24. Its a rubbish anthem tbf. Not a bad GP. Not a classic either but certainly held interest enough. Although the top 2 in he end were the top 2 in the Chanpionship it wasn't alwasys obvious they would be - or that they'd even make the final. Personally I thiugh Woffy looked pretty ordinary 90% of the night but once again comfortably in the semis and unbeaten from there. There's been a few GPs this year he's managed to grind a result out of seemingly nowhere. Yet another GP where Doyle will be wondering just when he's going to get a break. Almost all season he's been agonisingly close to GP finals. I think when it clicks for him (and it will) we could see him step up yet another level and become a real contender in years to come.
  25. No, it's not. Like anything in life you have give and take and have to share. There are 7 days in the weeks, why should British speedway have 7 of them? Poland has 1, the GPs some weeks have 2 of them. Sweden has two of them. That means UK PL can have a choice of 4 (6 technically as the Thursday clashes with Sweden don't seem to be an issue, nor do the Sundays with Poland and I'm sure the Tuesdays could be used if you wanted - IoW used to cope), UK EL has a 2 days of it's own (Monday and Wednesday) plus Thursdays are not really an issue with Swedish 2nd division. And if you really want to, you can run Fridays and/or Saturdays too - thought I think with GP, SEC, U21s and all the qualfiers it makes Saturdays a bit of a no these days. It can be done, you just have to work with the other countries. Why should British speedway be allowed 7 days a week? The poor Aussies invented the sport, they don't even get 1 day a week!!
