  1. As I said, "technically". I cant think of a time it has been used recently. Which GB test match is it Lewis Bridger missed? As I explained to you a few weeks ago, he missed a challenge meeting, a charity event. NOT a GB Test match. And that is in pretty much every countries license agrement, technically, if you ignore your governing body they can ban you. About 3 or 4 years ago Thomas H Jonasson defied SVEMO and rather than riding in a GP qualifier he rode in a league meeting. Result? He got a ban. Nobody suggested THJ was a slave.
  2. For me, James is he biggest waste of talent I have ever seen. I don't know what went wrong but my God it did. the way he used to pick off the opposition in his Workington days was a sight to behold. I was a semi-regular at Workington in them days and I used to pray he'd miss the start and he often did but he'd often finish a race either nicking a win on the line or all over the guy in front. A real joy to watch.
  3. Thank God starman come on to point out the obvious or someone may have missed it.
  4. I notice on twitter he still doesn't have a visa. Why has it been left until now?
  5. Nobody goes to a restaurant for the music either but if you turned up and they were playing some grunge rock metal at full volume you'd probably not stay to find out the meal was the greatest food ever. It's the little things that make the difference. That said, I do agree, the rider can and should do more!
  6. You'd be surprised. While not my cup of tea, anything that get the kids involved and interested is a great idea. Its certainly better than the nothing at all that they get to do now for 20 minutes.
  7. Anyone who struggles to convert between metres, centre metres and millimetres should be shot tbf. It's so easy and thats why they use metres and not feet. Amazingly though we still measure our height in feet. And nobody buys 568ml of beer please. Thats 0.568 litres if you prefer. Or a pint. The most confusing one is I buy my petrol (or diesel) in litres. But my car tells me how many miles per GALLON it does. and I measure everything in metres but I drive in miles and no km. So I should surely be working out my fuel consumption in metres per litre right?
  8. And within 30 minutes you have 3 of us saying play the right music! It's so simple. As RocketBen says, simply pausing the music and then unpausing it sop the same song plays all night is not right. Pick the right song for the moment.
  9. Buy some new CDs. I dont just mean modern music, I mean the right music. There is some really good music that is 20, 30 and 40 years old that works. But it's no good having a great race, the young home second string (or reserve) has the race of his career in a battle with the opposition number 1, the crowd are on their feed and going mad. Then they all fill in their programmes and listen to smashy and nicey on the PA followed by a bit of Procol Harums whiter shade of pale (which is not a bad song for the record - but it is NOT a speedway song). Have presenters who are the right side of 40 (preferably 30), they dont actually have to be speedway people, they just need to know when to get excited and when to shut up. I maintain that the 4 riders, 4 laps is better now that it was 30 or 40 years ago if the videos and youtube stuff is what we have to compare against but sadly, all we get now is 15 heats of speedway and some dull rubbishe in between. Liven it up for God sake. It should be loud, adrenaline pumping and wild. Speedway meetings should be full of Tai Woffindens (young, tattoos, piercings) loving the adrenaline junkie side of it but it's not, it's full of Maud and Margaret sipping tea moaning that it's not how it used to be totally obvious to the fact that the sport pandering to them is why it's not what it used to be. It's no good promoters asking us to take along our mates and work colleagues because getting them there is not the issue. Its that when they get there they are bored rubbishless with no announces, no nothing until 2 minutes before the advertised starts time. Then they tell us of a late change. then we hang around until 5-10 minutes after start time for the parade that is the biggest waste of time since something that was a big waste of time. The riders wave to a small % of the crowd on the home straight before putting helmets on to compete. Shake it up FFS! At least Cardiff this year was a trying something. go to ice hockey and see how they do it! You're excited before they even start. And encourage a bit more finger wagging between riders, maybe the odd punch. Not mass brawls. If two riders want to throw handbags encourage it. But discourage jumped up little oiks piling in and getting involved. When Swindon go to Brandon, interview Hans and ask him about how much he hates Swindon - just ask him to read out some of his tweets and explain then Then set Rosco on him
  10. Updated HERE (and in the first post) I've removed the green, its now white. It's no longer password protected but it is protected. I have highlighted in "orange" (look more peach to me!) the cells that are editable.
  11. Away fans tend to stand on the back straight at Peterborough. Just coming out of the 2nd bend. Wear a coat, it gets cold even in July!
  12. That speedway outpost Latvia in addition to hosting a GP also beat Team GB in the SWC in 2013.
  13. I'm informed he's currently at the Coventry P&P and "looks very quick" but I don't know if thats on track on getting into the stadium and back out again after posing for photos like at Rye House
  14. I could be wrong but I'm sure that technically anyone riding on a British license agrees to the same with Team GB. I'd be amazed if other countries don't have the same terms too. Anyway. we don't have any Russians in the British league, so really not too worried.
  15. Fight to show they're capable of being heatleaders and helping out the youngesters. Rather than being a reserve who'll score 1 point more than the raw newbies.
  16. I'll be fixing it later with all the feedback. I'll also remove the password - It's just habit to do it at work as I don't trust the minions
  17. Thats the first mistake, now for the rest! Well its about 10 years old now, so probably not.But then we all know things were better in the good old days, so sod innovation I say!
  18. Berwick have an 8+ in Jensen. I know very little about the other lad to comment but he'd have to be terrible for Berwick not to have the best pair IMO. If Sedgmen fancies it Edinburgh look good too
  19. Me personally, I'm amazed anyone was still using mine and it's going to have been download many times less as the user can update it themselves, they don't need me to do it - Proper IT, automation/letting the end user do it not the highly skilled, greater cost IT expert LOL
  20. I was amazed this winter that a few people asked me if I was going to be updating the racecard I made years ago to reflect the new heat format. So I did. Its HERE should anyone want a copy. Simple put the names of the riders up the top in the grids and it fills in the heads for you. Add the riders scores in each heat and it;ll put the scores up the top for you. If theres a a reserve/sub/rr then put the riders name, spelt as above in the substitute column and it'll do all the calculating for you. Put an ! after any TR rides so it can calculate a team mates bonus point correctly Useful if you're sat in front of the tele watching a meeting and too lazy to do any maths!
  21. Challenge meetings for the first 3 and on FIM duty for the latter 2.
  22. Was just thinking exactly the same. Its funny reading the Poles getting upset about the authorities clamping down on riders. Wonder where this leaves Emil? Sat at home I guess.
  23. I cant imagine the GP qualifier play too well so he probably wont have the money to compete. It's just a never ending spiral of despair now for poor young Emil.
  24. I'd argue Rob Godfrey is right and the other teams wrong. What use a training league if you're not going to use new riders.
  25. Its funny reading this thread about Mike Lee being a one off for winning a title at such a young age. Woffy did it when he was only 9 months older, I wonder if the old folk still think it's not like it used to be, Mike was a one off and it's not going to happen again
