Glasgow Tigers V Redcar Bears Pl Sun 4th May 2014 @3p.m.
SCB replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Wheres all this crap about new averages coming from? You get new averages on the 1st of every month unless you're assesed then you get one after 4 home and 4 away. Glasgow won't get new averages until June 1st. While Lemon and Wolbert will drop it wont be by anywhere near as much as you think due to rolling averages. -
I seem to remember there was a trophy awarded annually to the rider who was awarded the most "Man of the match" wins from meeting referees. I also seem to remember Craig Watson won it in 1999. Am I making this up? And if such an award/trophy exists who else has won it?

Even if thats true, it means no facility should be allowed tonight. Luckily it only scored than 3 points. -
Pubs That Show Speedway On A Regular Basis..
SCB replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Can't help with Leicester but the Gatehouse Tavern in the centre of Coventry shows speedway. And on the few occasions there has been a clash it's Sky plus'd and put on straight after. -
Correct. It's very often the case than depressed people throw themselves into work as a coping mechanism

So all those blithering crap about R/R should be allowed for Proctor, now what? They have had to use the facility for Adam Roynon. What a joker! -

As I mentioned on the other thread. In 2010 Coventry signed Pawlicki, his debut was rained off. 3 days later Coventry had to go with a junior for Pawlicki when he was missing for a Polish Championship meeting. The fact the meeting had been rained off was not considered relevant. -

Surely the fact it had to go to the MC suggested it's contentiousness. If there was a supplementary reg it would not need to go to them. -

So just to confirm, Ty Proctor bitched and moaned about being dropped without even riding a meeting for his club but has now walked out on his club (inn Sweden) before riding for them? Ty "integrity" Proctor? -
I got a ban for mentioning Darcy Ward once!

The rule of the internet is attack the post, not the poster. Not always easy though, the BSF is a relatively small forum and we all get to know each other (our internet personas at least) quite well so will fall out and call each other names form time to time. I'd like to think I can call stevebrum (for eg) a wally these days and he can do the same back and neither of us is going to cry or get upset!

Peterborough V Newcastle - Tuesday 29th April
SCB replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bad luck? Your own rider wipes out his team mates when you're being 5-1d and you only get 4-2d in the re-run. As for Kerrs bike(s) - 1 EF is back luck, 2 is poor, 3 is terrible and 4 is frankly terrible, not luck but from the rider. Kerr let down Newcastle tonight, not luck. Hope Rosen is ok after his crash, amazed he got up tbh. -

he doesn't have any choice. Wolves are his #1 priority, -
If only. As someone who's been there, it's really not that simple. It's finding a cause, if there is a cause - I would imagine in speedway it's very easy to get depressed when you're not scoring points. What Lewis needs now is for people to leave him to sort himself out, know that the fans are on his side but not to smother him. I remember when I was at my lowest I just felt like everyone wanted to help and I just wanted to be left alone and in my own time I went to them. But then I'm just one person, depression makes different people behave in different ways.

It's disappointing, in fact I think it's pointless but reality check people. Speedway riders have been sacked for much less many times before! A team have sacked a 7.5 rider who is only averaging 5.5 this season - they can justify I guess. You'd think they'd sacked him then murdered him in his sleep the way some of you are whining on. -

Starting to make sense now. Scunthorpe need a 7 pointer. So the club that is allegedly part owned by the Scunny promoter releases a 7 pointer for him to join Scunthrope. Sheffield now Scunthorpes feeder team? -

Agreed. Proctor isn't going to get much more than 7, Adam should be nudging 8 by the end of the season. Odd move IMO. It's almost as if they've gone, "we have two points to play with, we must use them". -
The food in the George is terrible :/ TBH, Poole Quay is only a 10-15 minute walk from the track and on a pleasant day is actually a nice place to have a pint and overlook the Quay. The Royal Oak is brilliant. Does really good food too - used to eat there quite often when I lived in Coventry. Not really by the speedway but the Gatehouse Tavern in the centre of Coventry shows the speedway and has quite a few regulars who will happy chat speedway with you.

Which is the best track you have been to? I love Somerset. Not seen a bad meeting there. Peterborough too. Which is the worst track you have been to? BV. Naff track. Naff stadium. Naff announcer. Which has the best food you have tasted? Somerset has always had good food. Reasonable price too. Honourable mentioned to Eastbourne and Scunthorpe. Which has the worst food you have tasted? Newport was always abysmal. In terms of facility's ie toilets, seating, access which is the best place you have visited and worst? Swindon back straight bogs are legendarily bad. But peeing down the banking and behind the grandstand at the Marketta in Prague has to be the worst facilities technically. As a guy though, I couldn't care less. Honestly don't think any of them have stood out in any way as being good!

What Does A Team Captain Do And Do They Make A Difference?
SCB replied to jeff's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Call heads and tails. Fill in a form to say all riders have been paid. one of the signs a club is in financial difficulty is the captain changes because he refuses to sign the form. -
So Gollob and Hampel with represent Poland with Pawlicki (Shamek) as reserve. Makes the competition a joke that in a pairs competition Poland are going to have been represented by 5 riders FFS!
