i can only speak for myself but I've been every year and not had a bag checked. It's amusing to walk in with a bag, not be asked to stop and see people queue to show there bags. Thats not to say it doesn't happen, but unless someone says otherwise I'd say you will be ok. They tend to relax all the rules for speedway as they're not so picky about flag poles either.

Again, not true. If you are wearing proper kevlar protection. The issue is "kevlars" (as worn by speedway riders) as not kevlar but nylon. That has all the protective qualities of a t-shirt and less than that of a pair of jeans. You can buy kevlar gloves that provide protection form 500C heat for 30 seconds HERE. Thats more than good enough for any speedway rider.
-
You can take them in. Some takes you get a twit of an official who says you can't but just ask to see another. Or alternatively, take them in in your bag, the only bags they check are the ones of the people who queue up to be checked, they dont stop people - only in Britain would people queue to have bags checked if they dont have to! Technically they have to be non-flammable but you try finding a flammable air horn these days.

Kevlar does NOT melt. Nylon melts. Proper kevlar will not melt.

Scott quit international speedway last year. -
Heat 12 he did a 15 metre TS. He passed both hammers but the up to then pointless Matej Ferjan, his team mate, won the race. So 6 races from the tapes (R/R and heat 15) and a TS from 15 metres for 4+1. As it stands, it's impossible to beat that score.

Bjarne Pedersen scored an 22+1 paid maximum for Poole at Arena Essex (Lakeside) in July 2005.

Krzysztof Kasprzak. World Under 21 Championship 2005 beating Tomas Suchanek.

I'm pretty certain thats not true. A rider once quit Oxford, they had a guest for him but he guested for the opposition. i'm sure I've read this somewhere.
-
Didnt want to let you down Main thing is, he's been able to chose to retire, something that a few times it looked might not be the case. As you know, I was no fan but without rider like Lukas to boo and abuse, the sport is a bit boring - you can't cheer all the time. So cheers Lukas for the entertainment - even if it was for the wrong reasons at times!
-
A nut job whos retirement will bring relief to a lot of riders. That said, he suffered form some pretty horrendous injuries and at one time looked set for the very top.

The hump is aerodynamic. Nothing to do with protection. A quick google suggests that medical people don't like them, they get in the way and are a nuisance.
-
How many times have you tested Kevlars and leathers? I suggest they clamp down on kevlars/leather with holes in before this, admittedly not so common these days but you still see it from time to time.

If the Collins boys didn't do it then I doubt anyone did! Didn't at one time 3 Collins ride for Workington in the early 00's?

Harris is still a better rider than Lawson, as such should be in it. It's the World Championship to find the best rider - not the title to find the rider whos had the least number of chances. if it was Greg Hancock would have been kicked out the GPs a few years ago as he's had his chances to win it now (and done so twice). if you're good enough you get a go and Bomber is still good enough to at least be given the chance to qualify. The poor guy cant win, he doesn't qualify and he's arrogant and expecting a wildcard, he qualifies and he should be giving another rider a chance. -
Scunthorpe V Cradley (national League) 13th April 2014
SCB replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
L:et be honest, the "Young Stars" are a joke. They have an average age only 11 months younger than the "stars" FFS! They have such up an coming rider as Mallett, Hughes and Cockle - who have all failed in the PL, years ago, and are now professional NL riders. -

If Sam Chapman turns out to be anyway decent and capable of PL speedway then Scunthorpe will be able to say all the thrashing, all the moaning etc has been worth it, they have found a rider. More power to them! -

Lets not forget that Coventry have been in a similar situation this season. So it can happen to anyone. -
I'm sure a few have seen it but I watched this the other day. it might be a few (!!!) years old but it was an enjoyable watch. Showed what a pro-Ivan was and how serious he took the sport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC1cWGMWG2M

Sounds like jealousy from Matt Ford to me. Sure Starman would agree.

New Wage Structure For Speedway Riders
SCB replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
How it works in all industries. I get paid more than the junior people in my team., Yet some days we're doing exactly the same work to the same level and I have made no more effort than them but I still get paid more. But there is a responsibility on me to help the junior members of the team to bring them up to my standard (and beyond) - same as the top guys in speedway really. -

Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
SCB replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That fine then, it costs more to build a stadium in Manchester so the people of Manchester will pay more to watch their speedway then. After all, Manchester is a major city.
