Nobody is saying thrown them on the scrap heap but if you keep signing riders with 2 or 3 years experience you'll never find a new rider, maybe a diamond in the rough. It makes no sense for the clubs with PL and EL teams to sign on loan a rider with a few years experience who may go on to be ok when they could try out someone new and they may just go on to be there asset and become a major rider.

Air Fence Safety Performance - Research?
SCB replied to Elephantman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If your foot rest or handles bars his the fence on the bend then you're in for it big time anyway. Think about it. You're riding parallel to the fence down the straight. On the bend your bike is perpendicular to the fence so it's going to be your back wheel that hits it. If anything other than your back wheel hits the fence you're already out of control and going to hit the fence anyway. They only had air fences on the straight for a season but Dryml, Hurry and Ermoelnko all got sucked in. I can';t think of a tim a rider has been sucked in on the bend. The closest was Ales Drymls crash at Oxford and by then he was more or less on the straight. -
Thast not Scunthorpe problem. About 4 years ago Scunthorpe had a NL team of no hopers, it did struggle, the year after that team of no hopers won the NL. It contained Birks and 2 Worralls who are all pretty good riders. About 7 years ago now Scunthrowp had a NL team with Haines, Auty, Woffinden and Richie Dennis in. All 4 set for big things. Dennis sadly didn't seem interested in PL racing while one of them is now a World Champion, another a 5 point EL rider and another has drifted away due to injury but was heading the right way. Which other CL/NL team can claim to have done so much for British youth? I trust Rob Godfrey, he knows what he's doing. If British Speedway had 30 Rob Godfreys (and his team of wonderful support people), 30 Scunthorpe Speedway then IMO we'd be SWC winners in 10 years time and have so many British riders after places in the GPs they'd hate us around the rest of the World.

Emil is riding for Torun. Gollob is riding for Torun. Emil and Gollob have quit the GPs. The owner at Torun owns the rights to the SEC. What a spooky co-incidence eh?! -

How many of Swindon riders are owed money now? How many of Brimingham riders are now owed money? How many of Czestowas are now owed money? Yes it happens but it's generally sorted. Yet in Poland you hear year after year of rider being owed many thousands from the year before. -

And its all been paid up since. Swindons issues was cash flow rather than lack of payment. -

Makes even more amazing he can do 4 SEC meetings and 3 Invitation pairs meeting and the practice associated with them. What a hero. -
Isn't Ward riding for Poole on 2 of the dates?

The GP and SEC pay about the same. So it's not a money thing there. Emil wont be able to race 24 hours either side of a GP anywhere now as he has withdrawn form the GP after signing entry to the GPs. So i hope Torun don't have any league meetings the day after any GP meetings. So it's not because BSI/the FIM is bad then? Well that ruins that little theory. On the other had he has financial issues due to money owed to him in Poland? Yet British Speedway is the joke? How often do you hear of riders being owed money in the UK? -
If Emil is fit, then the FIM can ban him. Oh how I'd laugh if they did.

This is Mr SEC/One Sport/Torun flexing his muscles in a bid to take over the GPs. He already thinks he's running Polish Speedway. Give it a few years when he's bored and not got his own way and the World Championship is still running the GP will thrive again., -

So it all being the SECs fault is a load of bollock then? Because only Emil was considering withdrawing, yet he's withdrawn anyway. AJ and Nicki had commited to the GPs -
Is Bsi Doing Enough To Promote Speedway?
SCB replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Lets be honest, if someone is going to pay over the odds for your product you'll sell it to them for as much as you can. More fool the Poles for paying OTT prices. OK, let the Poles pay £29 minimum to watch a GP. -

I dont think I've ever read DAC being anything but positive and supportive of BV speedway in the past. -

Expect a press release tomorrow. Whenever this thread gets dragged out a press release always miraculously apears. -
Rory rode in the NL when he was 16 and started PL on a 3 point average, so there must be a long lost Scottish granny in there somewhere! Matej did have a Hungarian passport in the end. I was against Holta doing it so I'd have to say I wasn't totally happy with it personally. That said, he did benefit from out junior system so dos owe us and he has always put British Speedway first. I do like his rant on twitter about "our country" though when he's talking about the UK!

Likelihood is zero. One your work permit expires you have to wait 12 months before you can apply for another.

The Mads K/Tony Atkin thing was a bit of promotion that backfired. Mads and Tony went to demonstrate speedway during the interval and ripped up the rink causing uproar! Certianly not a "home" of any sort of speedway though.

They want 500k compensation. The 20k compensation was to the stadium owners.

The athletics stadium (and its' precursor) have not been around long enough to have hosted speedway without me noticing. I've found mention of motorcycle racing at the old Ely racecourse. It has to have been between '53 and the late 60s I reckon
