im sure he will be giving plenty of time by the Edinburgh faithful

Looking forward to hearing how Dan Bewley gets on at Scunthorpe tomorrow as he gets back on a bike for the first time in a couple of months, expect him to be in the Belle Vue team if/when it's announced too.
-
It certainly does, just a pity certain riders are still owed money from last season.

Championship Teams Comparison Time
Pogo1 replied to balderdash&piffle's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I reckon Ipswich will finish in the top 4 but it's all about opinions. -
Congratulations to Dave Darcy, let's hope hope the first thing on his list is to pay the riders who are still owed from 2016 before discussing financial terms with new riders for 2017.
-
Good luck to the lad, apparently Jye Etheridge has told Josh that Edinburgh is a great club to sign for, he will be given plenty of time to develop, he won't be put under any pressure to score points, in Sam Masters a great captain and fellow country man who will be behind him 100% . Lol
-
So if there was to be a Championship Great Britain test series match v Australia and Mark Lemon asked him to race for Australia he would say no I'm British, like hell he would ! I'm not against the boy racing but Edinburgh should have to sign a British rider as there 7th and final rider to go with Clegg. Only in speedway I'm afraid.
-
Think you will find he's still an Aussie, he may have a British passport but if he was good enough he has already made it clear he would ride internationally for Australia when he first came to these shores, can't have it both ways, watch this space!
-
Davey is an Aussie, he joined Glasgow in 2008 with a visa to enter the country after he had entered the Australian state championships to meet the criteria to ride as an overseas rider in the U.K.,
-
Where do the two Brits come from for 2017?
-
The Ben fund meeting always runs before the season officially starts, the date has nothing to do with Glasgow, it's done in the hope to attract the top riders, fingers crossed we see some genuine top stars north of the border and hopefully some decent weather.

Watch heat 13 of the KOC final, the one we put Edinburgh out of, Lawson v S Worrall,

Wasn't an argument , was a debate I thought, so if I have a different opinion from you I'm barmy? I know you post a lot on here and I think your quite respected throughout the forum but it doesn't mean your always right lol, let's wait and see how it works out next season eh, I think most Glasgow fans seem to be happy with our team and we are very hopeful we can push for honours again, ps I think Bewley will be the most improved rider in the championship in 2017, so he is pretty important to us lol
-
What's using RR got to do with our riders not being good enough? Explain please? I dont see how we are relying on one rider either? The way the team has been built everyone of them is important, I enjoy a good debate on teams strength throughout the league but I'm struggling to understand the if Bewley got injured bit, race winners win meetings and we have them in abundance for 2017, especially at home, have people seen Lunna and Bewley round Ashfield at full flight !
-
Perry reached a 5.58 last season at Peterborough, who's to say he won't do that at Glasgow, try looking at the riders we have signed and not what there average is, too many people obsessed with what the bottom end at Glasgow adds up to. If and it's always an if, that the bottom 4 improve the way we all hope that they can then we might just do ok.
-
Has Masters qualified for a GP or is it a back door invite?
-
I dare say it's all about opinions but Glasgow in my opinion will be right up there in 2017, to say that if Bewley got injured then Ayres is about the best to replace him, I think RR would give Luna, Perry and Smith extra races, don't see a problem with that, I love all the posts about an unbalanced side, lol, keep them coming!
-
Lawson maybe third in the Glasgow averages but at least he has finished a season with an average over 9, Has Masters managed this yet?
-
A proper number no1 according to there FB page, category 1, whilst the like of Lawson and Grajczonek are category 2, what are they like lol, tbf there team is coming along nicely , what the chances of Robbo being next along with a 2 pointer?

Does British Speedway Have Future?
Pogo1 replied to Pieman72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The riders can see that the terraces and stands are nowhere near full but still want top dollar! The promoters have finally woken up and will only pay what they can afford to pay riders even though the two leagues are now weaker If and it's a big if that they can slowly increase the points limit for the next few years clubs might be of a better financial standing. The power is finally back with the promoters, rather than the riders knowing that they have a choice of clubs and play one against the other, times are a changing! -
If Bewley puts 4 points on to his average Glasgow will be the team to beat, I think if he does 5.5 to 6 in the main body of the team that would be a great effort. For me if Tom Perry can get up to over 5 as he did last season it could push Lunna or Bewley to reserve, then we would have real strength at the bottom end. So far I think Ipswich and Sheffield look very powerful. Don't see too many weak teams which should be good for the supporters I fully expect Peterborough and Edinburgh to be strong once they are completed All in all the championship looks very healthy and if anyone is struggling there are plenty riders looking for work.
-
I think Somerset have put together a team that will entertain at home and won't burst the bank either, I can see the logic of keeping 5 of this years team as they are all dialled into the Oak tree arena. Sensible team building and I wish them all the luck in the world even though they are a loss to the championship.
-
I see there is a live broadcast from the stadium this Sunday night, something different which is great to hear, Also hope to announce rider no6 at some point during the evening, will give us a rough idea if T Perry will start at reserve or not. Few good teams taking shape for 2017, only really Edinburgh and Redcar keeping there team news quiet for now.
-
Same big build up for Ipswich as it has been every year since they left the league above, Fwiw I think it's a decent team but where is the improvement coming from ? You need riders to add to there averages and they have two maybe three that can do that, Luv the quote that King is too good for our league, should have told R Worrall that before we won there again this season, oh and R Lawson and A Summers who got a 5. 1 over him in heat 15 at Ipswich the year before lol Don't you just love the close season !!!
-
Yeah he fits ok, would take us to 39.94 I'm sure, as he's a 4
