Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April
Pogo1 replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Heat 3 looks awesome! As does heat 13, weather forecast looks better now so fingers crossed all goes well. The first biggie of the season and the chance for bragging rights, well until a week on Friday, With it being a very small group every point is important, any win of 7 or over will do me cause if Edinburgh were to get a point it puts them in the driving seat . I'll go for Glasgow 50 Edinburgh 40 -
Glasgow V Coventry (challenge) 27th March 2016
Pogo1 replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good opening meeting with both sides giving it a real go, Glasgow gave a good account of themselves though errors in heat 12 when we gifted Bees a 5 0 and young Lunna running out of fuel in heat 14 as he drew level with Sarjeant was the reason the Bees edged it, Coty Garcia should have his own engine next week after a mix up with his order, thanks to Ryan McDonald for helping him. Lawson pretty good as usual Worrall great debut Barker 6 points won't have pleased him Lunna should have been paid 9 Summers same as Lawson Ayers great debut Garcia again decent for his first match -
What a difference some decent weather makes, the volunteers got so much work done today, the guys were on the track packing a new base for the new shale delivery during the week which will become the new top surface, Coty Garcia helping with all the tasks today, what a nice kid he is, really hope he has a good season. Yes today you could tell the new season has started , what a great feeling.

Hence the reason Glasgow wanted to host there semi final on Friday 20th .
-
Or get permission from the BSPA, ohh wait a minute, we got that!!!
-
The PLRC is held at Sheffield on a Sunday although they race on Thursday night, Glasgow don't/can't run that day. Why is one club allowed to do this and the other cant? Glasgow didn't just presume that they could run on the Friday for the British semi final, they asked the BSPA if they could as there were nonPL fixtures that night, the BSPA came back and said yes we the BSPA are happy for you to run that night, it then seems Edinburgh objected to this and the BSPA are doing a u turn, who is running British speedway???

Another working party up at the track today, frost still a problem with regards to track work, how refreshing to see one of the Facenna brothers mucking in with the helpers, you can't buy that, 4 weeks today and we will see some action.

Premier League Predictions 2016
Pogo1 replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Glasgow Newcastle Sheffield Edinburgh Somerset Ipswich Workington Plymouth Scunthorpe Berwick Peterborough Rye House Redcar -
Had them down as genuine title contenders, Workington will do well to find another rider who can increase his average as much as they had hoped from Proctor.
-
Does a PL team get priority over a draft rider? If so Newcastle would come first.
-
Any Bees fans traveling up to Glasgow on Sunday 27th March?
-
Good turn out at the track today, more repairs done after the wind and rain, motorway blade in on Wednesday to level track out and hopefully some decent weather so the likes of Ayres, Lunna and Garcia can get some laps in,
-
Ohh the bitterness coming from some in the Panthers camp is rather childish lol, talk about what you have got, not what you haven't , he certainly didn't go to Glasgow for extra money, I believe he was on more at the Showground last season!!!
-
Who will win your group? Ours this season has only three teams, Berwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow, A very short section and if one of the teams get an away win it will be very difficult to catch them. Pretty even group which could come down to the team that scores big home wins as I think away wins will be hard to come by, thoughts?

The poster has no idea of what's been paid to NL riders, I'm sure Edinburgh will go back to one or two NL boys they have tried earlier if M Davey isn't issued his passport before there season starts.
-
Nine weeks today and we will have seen some racing, with no Edinburgh on opening day it should make for a nice change for both sets of supporters with Edinburgh there the following week anyway, I know there was talk of a Polish team or an elite league team as opening day opposition which I think would be a welcome change.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Pogo1 replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Makes sense to help each other out with both being Sunday tracks, plus if it was a Friday R Worrall could have been riding for Belle Vue -
R Lambert in talks with Glasgow I believe !
-
Yet he increased his average!
-
One thing that is missing in this debate, can someone please tell me who brought the 30 mile rule in regarding same race day, I don't see this rule in the rule book, Imagine been told after you had bought a grocery business that couldn't open it on Saturdays as the one 5 miles down the road opens on Sat too, It's laughable because like most things in speedway it's outdated ,
-
Referees are now watching James Sarjeant in every race he is in , I can't believe that they can watch the other three riders properly when doing this, On Fri at Somerset R Worrall got a flyer in one race as he did yesterday in heat 14, what happened? Nothing! In heat 8 yesterday he made a perfect start only to be pulled back, yes he has been a victim of his own downfall while riding for Coventry but now every time he makes a gate it's questioned, watch on Sat night at Armadale if he makes a gate, all the blue jacket brigade will put there arms up in the air to the ref as they done in the league match trying to get him excluded, Rant over lol
-
Very difficult one to predict, Andersen at reserve helps Somerset big time, Could come down to heat 15, Glasgow need to start well, not something they have always done this year, If there heat leader trio are on it like last week they have a great chance, much depends on what Palovaara turns up and if Niemenen can find his form again, Should be a big home crowd that's for sure.
-
Give it a rest eh,, same pish over and over,
-
Edinburgh are pretty much the same as every other club in the PL, they are paying wages they can't afford, I think most teams are beaten before they turn up to race at Armadale, looking at there results most opponents haven't turned up with seven man teams . They must average 60 points plus including bonus points which will have a huge financial impact on there business, Did they have to go for Cook, Masters and Wolbert? Yes ,because there nearest rivals Glasgow announced Lawson, Morris and Summers and they wanted to remain top dog no matter what it cost , if they didn't can you imagine the crowds they would have got! Really is a catch 22 situation, ps hope both finals have great weather and massive crowds next weekend, oh and the Tigers to win lol
