  1. Spot on Baba. Where would Blobby be without a rumour and diverting attention away from the monarchs particulalry the Monarch who likes a good swally. But then again who cares
  2. Thanks to the 4s Glasgow try out a Monday night. Hopefully crowd will turn up as they did for the Tuesday night fixtures against Sheffield and also hope weather is kind. Really worried about this one. Kauko hasn't been here since 2013 and changes have since been made to the track and Hynek is coming back from injury. I've no doubt both will settle in eventually but two newcomers plus a guest for Nick could result in problems especially if jack holder takes a liking to the ashfield shale. if Richard and Aaron keep up their recent form and scoring we shpuld be ok but will also need viktor to ride like he did last week when he passed Ulrich O in a stunning ride. can see Plymouth getting a point but tigers to win, just.
  3. Looks like a good signing to me. He is 35. In 2013 he rode 8 matches for Belle Vue in the EL and averaged 6.29 including BPs and 11 matches for Leicester in the PL and averaged 8.33 including BPs. He currently rides for Griparna in Sweden as well as in Finland.
  4. Just as both Swindon and Glasgow reach crucial parts of the season and the old injury jinx hits again. The wound did look horrendous so was surprised Nick cam back to quick and was scoring crucial points. So back to guests for the Tigers. Real shame for him and the two clubs. Really thought we had a chance in the 4s. if we sign a rider to replace David before Sunday can we use him? Also makes the home fixtures against Plymouth, they now look strong with the changes they've made, and Somerset really dodgy. Hope he is back for the KO double header provided he has a chance to try out his arm beforehand.
  5. If you want Berge I am sure that the Glasgow management would love to hear from you - buy or loan deal? If Redcar are the other option I doubt you will have any chance of getting him. I can see Glasgow letting him go to redcar after Mr Havelock proved so easy to deal with in the signing of Aaron Summers. Plus from Berge's point of view Peterborough or Redcar where would you want to live
  6. I don't get what you mean. You said it wasn't what you wanted to hear I just wondered who you hoped it would be. I wasn't havin a go. I also just pointed out that Berge might be good, in fact he is good but his average is a joke so he really left us in the lurch by quitting. your posts are normally well argued but in this case you were sounding like a Berwick fan
  7. OK but what did you want to hear. Its OK people saying Berge was a class rider with loads of potential and I agree but his average was poor. That left us with NL riders who're not as good as matt Williamson, Ellis Perks etc; perhaps Mitchell Davey if he doesn't need a visa. So we will just have to wait and see. If he scores 3 points from 3 rides beating opposition riders in every meeting he will be doing his job
  8. Just to say the times for much of today's meeting were fast t/r is 57.1 and 3 races were under 58secs. By heat 10 things had got worse with a time of 60.3 and only one line 2inches from the fence! I heard it announced that it was Peterborough that asked for an inspection. By the time the ref reached the 2nd bend it had got heavier. A pity rain intervened Glasgow would have finished strong with Lawson due 3 rides, Summers 3 rides and Morris one. But hey we got the 3 points and a pint or two
  9. Spot on, I'm surprised he's not already in the PL
  10. I know who it is but am not telling Oops shouldn't have said that Right it was a joke honest so no need to comment Hopefully he'll give 100% whoever he is - in Stuart we trust
  11. Got to hand it to you Manse, you were right (again). Great win for the Tiggers
  12. Once again can I ask why it is Ok for Blackadder to say he's been told a different reason about why Berge left (we are not sure what or by who) but its not ok for Manse to say he's heard different? I am not taking sides its a genuine question? In some ways it doesn't matter cos both of them have said they won't post again on this topic but I genuinely cant see the difference.
  13. Indeed, an easy win for the 'witches' and sadly don't know of any fans making the long journey south. Simply to many 'ifs' about the Glasgow line-up with r/r proving hard on man and machine Apologies, I just thought having the words Global Moderator next to your name meant something. Still don't know why its ok for Blackadder to say he heard something and doesn't elaborate and you don't have a go at him. By the way I respect Blackadder for his subsequent comments and thanked him! Finally I wasn't having a go at you spelling, I'm not great either, I did wonder if there was such a word or it was a typo now I know for your response
  14. Careful Manse, don't want to upset a Global Moderator. You'll notice that it is OK for Blackadder, not Baldyman, to say what he's heard but not explain, but not you. Perhaps you've attacked a poster and not a post; I would stress I am just asking not suggesting anything. Finally I've been wondering about this, so here goes 'Lioness' what is a hippoctite as in "Hippoctite's and liars - don't you just love 'em"
  15. You won't give up even when you know you are talking nonsense. Berge asked to leave, it doesn't matter why - some theories his flat was in the west end of Glasgow rather than morningside; the weather's nicer in Sheffield; I've lost my confidence; I need to reassess my career as I'm now rubbish at longtrack; my mum didn't like the way stuart Dixon talked about me on the tele; you are paying me in pounds and I wanted euros; david bellego told me the grass is greener down south; a cannae understand weegies - it doesn't matter. As soon as he decided he wanted to leave he was withholding his services and Glasgow are entitled to a facility. end of.
  16. Not to keen on twitter and facebook even took me a while to join this forum but have to say Glasgow's page is full of quizzes, info; team line ups - theirs a novel idea!!!!!!! See https://www.facebook.com/glasgowtigersspeedway has to be way forward and seems to be working with more youngsters attending every week!!
  17. The new owners seem to want to put on apackage not just 15 heats. the two mascots routine worked really well yesterday and even some old cynics were smiling! And the kids races just shows a lot of youngsters are coming to Glasgow and long may it continue. Finally young Leon flint looked really good after the meeting, how old is he and has he 'signed' for someone?
  18. Others have commented on this but I'd ask Blackadder: Berge asked to leave the club, yes?; even you must agree that they are not going to sack a rider when there is no obvious replacement. So how about this as a theory, perhaps having asked to leave the club tried to persuade him to stay before reluctantly saying he could go. In these circumstances berge is presumably withholding his services and that means a ban from racing? maybe he thought he could just leave and join his mate and then got annoyed like most teenagers when they don't get their own way? Whatever theory is correct Glasgow own him and will get a loan fee or transfer fee or did his advisors not mention that either.
  19. Weather forecast now dry for the rest of the day. Advise if you want seat in stand arrive early it fills up really quickly but then again viewing from back straight is brilliant and remember there is a tarmac walkway to the back straight behind red and white fence on first two bends. Believe gates open today at 12 noon with it being a Glasgow Holiday weekend. Logic suggests Tigers should win but Bandits ran us close last time and we are on the back of 3 meetings and lots of travelling so who knows
  20. There's nothing like informed debate . Assuming you can concentrate for more than ten seconds try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtgDCV8iIHk
  21. No doubt Rockets will win but I don't think that Glasgow are seriously weakened. Jack Holder will score as many as David Howe would have and if Adam Roynon does ride (I read he was ill last night) he will score more than Berge. The main problem is losing Nick Morris but r/r may do ok. So not really weakened, even a full Glasgow 1-7 would have struggled - we're not used to sun and dust
  22. As MD says Nick wold have scored more than r/r. Also didn't help that our guest Thomas jorgensen - thanks for taking the booking - managed to fall foul of the obsession that refs have of trying to catch riders out at the tapes. Funnily enough his score last night for Sheffield helped us more than his score tonight
