  1. It gets worse . Dimitri has quit. Appears we can use guest for now - Adam Roynon guests - so its a Tigers/bears select against the Comets
  2. Hopefully you will be pleased that Nick scored points for you. Glasgow fans are really pleased since he'll now miss some crucial fixtures with an arm injury sustained whilst doing his best for you
  3. oh dear, Nick Morris out for a few weeks with arm injury guesting for Somerset . It's bad enough when your riders get injured riding for their country, U21 and EL teams but when its guesting it seems even worse!!! Can see Tigers losing this with Bjerre as a guest. Should be glad that Lawson Sergeant and Summers who all rode last night didn't get injured as well. No chance beating Sheffield on aggregate on Thursday either
  4. As everyone has said the racing at Scunthorpe can be terrific. The best Sky match ever, from a neutral point of view was filmed at Scunthorpe - just watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHgN6sTKrqY&feature=related
  5. Although not a solution, with the new averages everyone bar Nick Morris can get a ride so could score as many as Howe would have done, if fit, at least at home. certainly can't afford any engine problems - remember what happened when Summers borrowed an engine from Alex Edberg!!!!
  6. Well it seems like ages since the last home meeting and back to Sunday afternoons - prefer evenings myself. For Tigers David Howe is still out and with Viktor Palovaara on World U21 duty we've got a guest and thanks to the new averages we can get Nike Lunna who impressed when up with Scunthorpe. Workington are along the usual lines though they've replaced Nicki Barret who nearly always does well at Ashfield with Matt Williamson. Matty Wethers is a potential problem as when he gates at Ashfield he's good at holding riders back. Anyway a home win by around 6 points.
  7. Anyone know the dates for the KOC match against Glasgow? Notice BSPA web site has glasgow V Scunthorpe KO Cup as Tuesday 7 July
  8. Don't want to seem pedantic but the BSPA stands for British Speedway Promoters Association - don't think you could exclude certain promoters just because they are cleverer than others. Agree ideally there would be an independent body but it wouldn't be called the BSPA, maybe call it something like Speedway Control Board Also sadly everyone on here when they disagreed with their decision would accuse someone of bribing someone else - hey ho
  9. Don't like riders doubling up/down BUT it's a lot better than teams using guests and r/r all season. Have to feel for Panthers promoter and the fans.
  10. My take on things as something who was there. The Sheffield team were really up for it resulting in over riding from some. Bates bike must have a homing device as it clearly takes him round the track rather than him being in control. Berge was blocked/took avoiding action at least 3 times last night otherwise there could have been more accidents, he waved to the ref but the race continued every time. wonder what ref would have done if Berge had slid off? Hope they try more evening meetings, tonight we had new track record, lots of incidents/controversy, totally unpredictable results, beautiful weather, good crowd, brilliant burger and chips and a tie nicely balanced for the second leg -worth £15 of anybodys money. Hope Nick, Ashley, David are OK - didn't hear anything other than they were withdrawn.
  11. Hope this is a cracker with lots of overtaking just like EL matches on the tele
  12. Weather forecast still looking good, so moving from the Sunday looks like a good move - Sunday's practise was cancelled due to the weather. Just need the right result now
  13. I'm sorry, I pasted the relevant part of your post (the other part wasn't important) and replied to your comments with facts.
  14. Up until last night both Berge and palovaara had missed one official meeting each and by the way palovaara's 'real' average for 2015 from 15 meetings is 5.71 The reason there is no meeting today - the new owners are fed up with it raining every sunday and yes its pouring down this morning and the forecast for Tuesday evening is fab Howe's shoulder appears to have gone. If he is replaced Glasgow have 7.33 to play with according to the new green sheets
  15. Victor Palovaara - World Under 21 Qualifier 2015; Dimitri Berge - broke track record holder at Ashfield this year and runner up in 1st round of World longtrack Championship 2015. Yep that's what you call naff
  16. Another evening fixture and the same 2 teams that fought out the last one although not being filmed by Sky this time. No news of the teams as yet but it looks as if young James sergeant will still be missing placing a lot of pressure on David Howe and the 2 reserves. Simon Stead is obviously missing but Bellego should make an appearance (missed last one) and Compton and garrity can fly round ashfield. Birks looked good on the TV recently so could be a hard one to call.
  17. Confirmed that James sergeant is still not fit so r/r for him, so both teams with guests and r/r
  18. Berge and Palovaara are riding in european under 21 qualifiers on Saturday
  19. How is trying to replace avery badly injured rider using the 7 day rule manipulating the rules? Would you have been happier if Kozza had got injured a week earlier.
  20. Paulco's right about taking the win, albeit I'd prefer to be 6 points up with one race to go! Tigers are currently 3rd in the league and in the Cup semis but are still not clicking - god knows what will happen when they do. With all the points scored on the road I'm sure the new owners will be happy they are not hammering teams at home - think of the points money
  21. Who was the commentator George? I take it it wasn't Mike Hunter as he is totally impartial as you know
  22. No one has started anything for this match so here goes. Paulco and co must still be celebrating Ipswich, on paper have a good team but seem to be inconsistent. In danny King they have the fastest rider around Ashfield Peugeot Stadium - his track record on the slightly longer circuit was quicker than the current record. So the track record will go but to who. Glasgow should win provided the tigers don't have any bike/injury niggles form last night. also will be interesting to see which Rohane Tungate turns up.
  23. Thanks for trying to get us back on topic; Ther's a separate Scunthorpe-Glasgow thread
  24. Agree it wasn't a classic but it looked busy to me. Presumably more Monarchs fans would have come through if Glasgow hadn't won on Friday but still a fair turn-out? Glad you agree about Sargeant. But again confused by referees differnet interpretation of the 'rules', which I still can't find in the rule book, and announcements. One week its announced you must stay stationery at the tapes before they go up or the race will be rerun. On sunday some riders moved and the race continued other races it got called back and at least 2 riders made cracking starts not having moved and they got called back as well. Causes arguments confusion amongst fans and the riders must be getting fed up not knowing what a refs going to do. Make it simple anything goes other than tape touching.
  25. Totally agree. Glasgow are trying to replace a badly injured rider (hope all goes well with Kozza's recovery) using the rules. They are not trying to pull a fast one from what I can see.
