  1. Why not a foam-fence? Acknowledged throughout the sport as superior to air-fences. Air barriers are only better when there is a need for removal after every meeting, as at a greyhound stadium.
  2. Of course, if the new colours are close enough to black and gold, you can wear your new scarf up north, too.
  3. Do we actually have sixteen British riders?
  4. As I said, 1964 -- a season the sport was split asunder through the demands of the top league. It led to Shawcross, and the stability of 1965 onwards, which slowly descended over the next twenty-five years to the point that it happened all over again.....
  5. 100% correct. Have the lessons of 1955, 1964 and 1990 not been enough for the lower-league clubs to consider?
  6. I see the Berwick promotion are laying on free transport for their fans to travel to STMP for opening meeting. Will Redcar be following suit, and giving their followers a free ride up the road for the Saturday return?
  7. Since you mention it, yes. Damn right I have!
  8. OK, fairly explained. But don't you rather shoot yourself in the foot by sponsoring the supporters club night with Pearson and Tatum? Do you feel that will give benefit to your business?
  9. Only if you wanted a helluva lot more manipulation going on than under the present regulations.....
  10. I didn't go to university, but: Plagiarism: the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.
  11. Certainly ethical to offer credit to sources, as well as polite social behaviour.
  12. Not at Sunderland, he was well away by that time. Crewe was promoted by Allied Presentations, of whom Len was one-sixth, Maury Littlechild was the first front man for Allied, then Len did a couple of years but the man in charge in 1975 (when the Kings ceased to reign) was Dave Parry.
  13. Rules, in any sport, and any walk of life, are written. In stone, if you like. If there is a loophole, it will be exploited. If Mitchell is entitled to a UK passport, and his various averages allow him to qualify for NL racing (and thus as a PL #7) so be it. Be assured that, if Edinburgh don't employ him (and he is their asset) then another club very quickly will. Because they can.
  14. All clubs have to keep an open date in case they progress in the tournaments. Both Sheffield and Scunny have listed this particular Sunday for theirs. As they'll presumably both be in same section, only one -- maybe neither -- will use the date. Tigers are being quite cute, reserving a Sunday -- it'll mean they don't have to blank off a Thursday night 'just in case'....
  15. But if both parties agree to arbitration, they have to stick to the verdict. Matej Kus can start racing for Newcastle right away, before the court sits, but when it does -- and rules on a fee -- the Diamonds must then pay that amount. No good then saying "no, that's too much". Or indeed, Redcar saying "no, that's not enough".....
  16. There are five Saturdays in July, and three are 'booked' by major events -- the Grand Prix, The new Fours Festival and the World Team Cup Final. Berwick will race two home meetings, against Plymouth and against the winners of the Ipswich/Rye House KOC-tie. What kind of rearrangement do you have in mind?
  17. No it wouldn't, Peterborough aren't the only host team to be parachuted into a final.
  18. Because the far-northern bloc didn't have enough votes to bring them back?
  19. Before Eddie jumps on you, I'll gently point out that the morning is certainly when they have 9am!
  20. If he's in Poland, it has to be NL guest for any official fixture.
  21. Fair enough, the BSPA are releasing the complete two-league list tomorrow morning too......
  22. The small matter of eight PL clubs racing each Sunday, and eight on a Saturday?
