  1. I agree Garry. These lists are really a lot o fun and so interesting how some riders are towards the top of some are near the bottom of others. I know that Kildemand took a lot of flack for going down a few times but all in all he's quite consistent and I think a little under rated by many. Yes I also agree that some of the older riders aren't going to do as well as last year because of the riders you mentioned and a few others.
  2. 1.Woffington 2.Iverson 3.Janowski 4.Hancock 5.Pederson 6.Kildemand 7.Doyle 8.Zmarlic 9.Zagar 10.Lindback 11.Jonsson 12.Pawlicki 13.Hampel 14.Holder 15.Harris I can't say how or why but I feel that the combination of Janowski, Zmarlic and Pawlicki all together in the GP will really shake things up AND be good for the series. Also want to say thanks to the Brits for all the great programs on Netflix. It get's me through the Speedway off season! Also want to give a call to Andreas Jonsson. I know that at least half of the tine he isn't in the hunt but when he's on he is a very exciting rider and I'm glad that he's back for another season.
  3. First of all I think Emil is a class act and I would love to see him in the GP series. Being new to the sport and not knowing about the advantage of unlimited money to spend on equipment and being a mediocre rider vs. a great rider who can't afford the best equipment and of course the best tuners. I'm just asking could this be part of Emils reluctance to enter the GP? Do all 16 riders have equal equipment? And of course there's the crew that must be very expensive to have for the season.
  4. Hello Joseq7......Nice to hear from you. I was just watching something on youtube and speedway just happened to pop up. I started watching highlight videos and individual races and soon sorted out the GP series the leagues and also the Speedway European Championships. I watch all the GPs sometimes the next day but the Australlian final was on youtube that same evening for me. Still trying to understand the equipment and wonder if there is any talk of tightening up the racing through the equipment. As you probably would agree there is nothing more exciting than a close speedway race but one with no passing is a yawner. Hello andout......My initial reaction to your post was that I was going to tell you that they race super modified stock cars at Owego. BUT I thought I better consult Google......They have a speedway track there also called Champion Speedway!! I still want to come to Europe this summer for the world cup but that speedway track is only about an hour and a half from me and will deffinately go there this Spring. That kinda shows how sometimes things are right under nose and......somehow I thought speedway was only on our other coast. Thanks for enlightening this unenlightened American!
  5. Thanks for the information Joe. I will have to think this through before I come of course. And hello Falcon Hammer....it was VERY TOUGH being an American during the Bush years! Then a doink like Trump comes along and all you can do is scratch your head. This might seem unbelievable to you guys (and ladies) across the Atlantic but I don't know one person that follows speedway. The vast majority haven't heard of it. Hancock is from the other side of the country about 3000 miles away. I watch it only on YouTube because I only have basic cable. My favorite riders: GP Iverson....a class act Polish leagues....Janusz Kolodziej would I be wrong thinking he might finish top eight in the GP if he rode like he did at the end of last year? And in the SWC of course Emil. I would have thought Kolodziej might have been an obvious replacement for Hample in the SWC if he was on the team.
  6. Hey Joe...that's a good one! I don't remember a better final last year and had to watch it twice tonight and might have one more look. I agree Zagar is a clean rider and a favorite of mine. This is only my second post so I will kind of introduce myself. I live in a village in New York State US with a population of 5,000. (Please don't judge us all negatively by Trumps popularity) I'm new to speedway in the last two years and truly love the sport. Hoping to come to Europe this summer for the world cup. Is it realistic to try and make all four events....do many people do it? Thanks for listening....
  7. If you go back and watch heat 8 again when niki exaggerated his entrance into the corner and gave Masters a knock Tapp started to comment on the move but seemed to think better of it. Sure the riding is hard but there is a point that Niki seems to cross where it's just unsportsmanlike. I'm trying to think of another GP rider who would have made that "extra" move on Masters.
  8. I'm a new fan of speedway in the last couple years and I absolutely love the sport. (And my first post) Regarding getting rid of the tape makes a lot of sense to me for the following reasons. First there's always the possibility of a dream four man final or for that matter any heat with a great lineup and one rider is excluded for hitting the tape. With a light he would receive a warning and all four back. Second, the original offender might not hit the tape but draws the guy next to him and he hits it and is gone. And with starting lights you would avoid the aforementioned tape problems. PLUS the officials wouldn't have to spend hours cutting up old bed sheets and tying them together.
