  1. Yes, Liam would be much strong than Connor (no offence) Especially at reserve Ben Hopwood and Liam Carr at reserve would be pretty good Our top 5 would still be one of the strongest imo with improved reserves, makes us more of a team, not a 5 man team Lewis Rose is already 3rd heat leader and I think he's doing a cracking job So yes, I would take Liam Carr, although I'd prefer Zach This is all just hypothetical anyway, because I don't think anything is going to change unless there's an injury (And please god don't let there be one) But it's fun to see what COULD happen
  2. Is that how it works? I didn't realize whoever had the higher average went to 6, I thought it was just promotion chooses Anyway, he'd make a good number 6 too
  3. I second that But Yorkshire and Teesside accents are sooo different
  4. But the only way to fix that is by sacrificing some of the 1-5 and Lambert (in MY opinion) is the rider that makes most sense, AS LONG as we could get a heat leader replacement (Rene, Matej are both capable heat leaders) And they would both free up an extra point or so at reserve... Which gives us the chance to bring Liam Carr or Zach W into number 7, and they'd be some of the best 7s in the league IMO... That's just my opinion anyway... We're not going to win anything with our reserves, but we might win something with Rene and Zach or Rene and Liam for example... Maybe I have been a bit harsh on Robert, but I don't mean it personally (Not that he'd care what I think anyway lol) But he does have an extremely busy schedule, which is a big disadvantage when he's not here... I think someone like Rene or Matej would miss less meetings, and I know Robert hasn't missed many..... YET, but that could make the difference at the end of the day and I'm still sticking by my opinion Robert and Connor Out Rene and Zach in Maybe next year for Connor, when he's better and got his confidence back... He's out of his depth
  5. Better English than those Yorkshire folk
  6. God no, lol... Although Zach W instead of Liam carr for my suggestion, didn't think of him Zach and Brady in, Robert and Connor out I don't see Ludvig leaving... Captain and adopted Geordie... And he's been good so far this year Well... I wonder why Adam Ellis rode for Swindon today and Robert didn't ride for us? They're both in the same FIM meeting... Also, as I've said in the past... he's said that Germany is more of a priority than uk, and even though the rules stop that happening... Will he give 110% in his head... I mean, that race last weekend when he came last at Brough... He seemed to give up and wheelie the last two laps rather than chase hard... I would prefer Brady over Matej, but I think Matej would be more likely to come to Newcastle than Brady... What happened to Kevin Wolbert? I would agree Robert Lambert is one of the best u-21 riders in the world... I don't want him to go... But someone has to... Or we keep getting 1 at reserve every week... Liam has done bad from the number 2 and 4 position, but if we put him in at 7, he'd be one of the strongest 7s in the league imo (Same goes for Zach W who I'd prefer to see, but he's pretty unrealistic too)... And with Hopwood at 6, that's not a terrible reserve pairing... Or another name... Rene Bach!! People are probably annoyed at all these names I'm pulling out of thin air... xD Kenneth Bjerre and Zach W... I'll stop now... 1. Steve Worrall 2. Ashley Morris 3. Lewis Rose 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Rene Bach/Kenneth Bjerre/Brady Kurtz/Matej Kus (In that order) 6. Ben Hopwood 7. Zach Wajtknecht After 400,000 different thoughts, that would do me...
  7. I love Ashley Morris like, great rider and always tries hard, plus he's another British rider
  8. One track Kus who rode very well for us last year It is part of the fun, making people angry and causing a fuss ^_^ IF Robert, Rose and Steve aren't riding for KL and BV Because then we're f**cked, same goes for the pairs...
  9. No... I want Brady Kurtz to replace the very busy kid, Robert Lambert, no one wants him to go, but something has to change andit'd give us an extra point at reserve then... Robert Lambert 8.70 Connor Coles 2.00 Out Brady Kurtz 7.65 or Matej Kus 7.64 Liam Carr 3.00 In Doesn't make our reserves mega strong but Liam is both more experienced (at this level and our track) and better than Connor (Who it's just too early for) No one, including me, wants Robert out, but something has to be sacrificed in the 1-5..... And I think Brady would be just or nearly as good and Matej would do a job at keeping our 1-5 very strong still I know I'm being controversial, and I will just leave my opinions here for people to judge It is a forum afterall I question Roberts dedication to us still...
  10. How long do we struggle on for? Is Hopwood a temporary signing until the new averages come out? Can we put up with Connor if we don't have a senior reserve to back him up? I like Ben and Connor, but not both in one team..... We need one of them and a more senior reserve too... Not both, last year when we had Danny, he was always partnered with Lewis Rose at reserve... 1 point we got from reserve tonight, carry on like that, I don't see us winning anything at all... I know I'm sounding like a repeating record... But 1 point is just not good enough And I hate saying that, because ANYONE who gets onto a speedway bike deserves lots of respect... I have my opinion, and other people have theirs... Just want my team to win is all Sport is not sentimental Not sure how the rules work, would Brady come in on his beginning of the season average of 7.65? Or would it be whatever his new Poole average is?
  11. Wish I could have been there tonight, everyone seems to suggest he rode well
  12. I'm sorry, but we need to do something with our reserves and dear god, please not Embleton... We're not going to win anything, even with Robert and Steve
  13. Yes, I thought Robert was riding in the Swedish league, not in a FIM meeting, I'm all clear with what's going on now... I think...
  14. I see, I was told he's riding in Sweden tomorrow, didn't even know about the FIM meeting, thanks again Although it's interesting to see that Adam Ellis is riding for Swindon tonight still...
  15. Robert (The Brit) is riding in Sweden and misses Edinburgh Vs Newcastle (His British club) I'm confused Not that it takes much.....
  16. I thought British riders got priority for their British clubs..... That's what I've just been told...
  17. Thing is... We have two out and out number ones (Steve and Robert) and it's sacrificing the bottom end Where that year, we didn't have any at all... I realize now that George and the promotion won't make a move like that, since they didn't do it, doesn't mean I still can't talk about it What I'd want them to do... You mean they'd do the opposite of what they did when Danny King came into the team? Don't think Ben did badly, and Danny was starting to perform just before his injury, the home meeting against Berwick (I think) when JPB guested, didn't he win the reserves race and then hold on for a 5-1in heat 8? That was a great performance What do people mean with all these park puns?
  18. I think it wouldn't be clear cut that Ayres would beat Hopwood every time Also, I don't think we'll see Danny for the rest of 2017, and if we do, he won't be 100% I think Connor is a great prospect, but it's too soon for him, as soon as he's put under any pressure he falls, something that can't be said for Hopwood (Just based on heat 14 on Sunday lol) I think Connor tries TOO hard on a track he struggles on and then just has to lay the bike down
  19. Oh yeah..... That was a dumb moment for me..... Which country was he coming from anyway?
  20. How would his bikes get there if he got the train? Would he just roll them on with him? xD Shame to see Ayres sign for Redcar, good for them, and him, but a shame that it has to be Redcar
  21. Don't think the ENTIRE rest of the team is the problem..... Ludvig and Rose are doing great in the main body and Robert and Steve are doing even better, not to mention how good Ashley has started the season... It's just the reserves are out of their depth and something has to give elsewhere in the team or else we'll just be struggling with 2.00 reserves for the rest of the season... I don't think anyone here hates Robert... ok ok, I didn't know that nationality dictates the priority of a rider, I was just asking for confirmation of that, is that a new rule or has it always been in place? Does Robert still race under a German license? Also, if Newcastle isn't a priority in his head... Will he give 110% every week? I dunno, I'm a big fan of the guy, but I fear for my team this year... And it's not even Robert's fault As to a link of Robert saying Germany was a priority, it was in a Speedway Star one week
  22. Is that true? And if it is... Is it also true in Robert's mind? And nobody WANTS him out...
  23. I see logic in all three of these, and I don't think people want to drop Robert because of a poor showing, I think it's so we can strengthen the bottom end... In some ways I think it would be sensible, but in other ways I want to see one of the best talents in the world at Brough. I still have it in my head that he will get too busy this year with all the teams he rides for... Not saying he'll drop the Diamonds, but he might get too knackered, and he's already said Germany takes priority, King's Lynn will no doubt, take priority and the same can be said for Poland and probably Sweden... So are we bottom of the list for him? Just an observation... I'm sure, as I've said before, Matej would gladly come in if we needed him, and that would free up a couple of points elsewhere..... I'm just worried we'll get dumped right before the play-offs (If we make them, maybe not) for other teams...
  24. Probably, and I'm sure a lot of local and nearby teams' riders would have jumped at the opportunity
