I do think from 1968 / 1974, / Ivan would of dominated a series I, still think Briggs and others would of won certain other rounds though. 1984 onwards Nielsen with Gundo sniffing about Gundersen was better had his number certainly on a one off meting Hans would of loved a GP series still think Erik would of liked a series format ( ie knowing he could beat the Great Hans.

NO Geoff certainly not,,, but Ray was a class act i forgive him!!! Ray was one of the first riders who could beat Briggs at the Abbey in the late 60s on merit great rider tough as old boots top class as well,my uncle told me that from the beginning from his Long Eaton days. -

Chunky please take a step back !!!!! Av a think others might differ in there opinion consider that.

I think Ove and Hans would of won more titles in a GP format Norbold, for me those two named were better riders than Ricko.Sometimes we all forget just how good Jack Parker was and Stenners who named him as no 1 was really recognised and respected.
-
It would be very interesting to hear your views on that Norbold , the odvious one for me would be Hans Nielsen. In yesteryear i suppose Graham Warren would be mentioned and the immortal Vic Duggan who was stopped from winning the title for different reasons.
-
So was Ivan in 1973 along with Anders norbold, but we all know luck pays a huge part in sport.
-
Wish Ove would give him one of his.!!!!! 1972 if only Norbold.
-
I am sure Briggo won five ????

The first meeting you went to the 31- 43 contest Holloway scored five points from two rides then he broke a collarbone.Shields was different class in the 39 -39 draw i quite enjoyed my Groveway visits but sometimes the track was rough though.Milton Keynes when all fit and firing had a good top four Humphreys, Grahame, Harrison, Holloway but they were very rarely all available to click on the same day. -

Remember going to a Oxford v Supporters select in 1978 ( Holloway scored 9) Shields got the lot he was really quick. If i remember rightly the future NLRC champion Wayne Brown rode also the veteran George Hunter as usual was as dependable as ever. -

First see Penhall ride with Bast at White City in 1977 and i would never of thought he would of become a world champion by 1981.His first visit to Swindon netted him seven points with a heat win and he did look classy see him quite alot at Dudley and he really mastered that circuit his beating of Nielsen there in the helmet was a masterclass. -

I really liked Shields he was very important in the 1981 season Salty .Also your point about Fryer and Nigel Leaver was spot on they both came in when they were learning there trade both made a really good fist of it and had good careers. Fryer (RIP ) was great value for Swindon in the PL a really exciting rider.
