  1. and that should be Ashley at 2 with danny at 7 ........... if he is on a 2 point average which he should be .......... and a 3 point reserve at 6 ............
  2. Pity - but I wish him all the best well with new averages 1 steve 8.47 2 Ashley 4.98 3 Kerr 5.98 (Rose 6.12) 4 Bach 7.53 (Kus 7.64) 5 Lindgren 7.69 6 NL 3.00 7 Etheridge 2.06 39.71 (39.96) Would love Bach back... but Kus is an asset so promotors will want him Could lewis kerr rediscover in 2014 form .... if so could be steal
  3. couyld lakeside not run in the premier league on a sunday ?
  4. 1 worrrall 8.51 2 morris 4.83 3 rose 5.86 4 kus 7.55 5 lindgren 7.65 6 danny ayres 3.56 7 Philips 2 team 39.96 .............. there you go job done or lambert at 1 with a 3 pointer at 6 either way - weak reserve pairing but I think most teams will have any decent no 6 ... morris and rose will now be in the main body and yes incredibly I have Philips in .......... he should be able to up his average from 1.6 to above 2
  5. bjerre could be steal on that average - im sure he will up his average by at least 1 I think 2016 was a blip ... and he will be in a winning side ........... and at a club with a bit more ambition
  6. That's a reasonable team ... reserves an issue .. but they will be for the other 9 teams ...... Maybe Lambert for Worrall...? Then it's we only have to avoid kings Lynn, matches
  7. Pros and cons of new structure Pros 1 Its a cost cutting exercise as with 21 fewer riders its assumed the foreign riders will go 2 whys it cost cutting because riders are not paid the same ... lambert and Philips are not on the same wages .... so you have cheaper riders being paid for 90 points 3 clubs may be under less financial pain Cons 1 brilliant we see only 9 teams in a season 2 inferior product available 3 fewer riders available for rider replacement and covering heat leaders 4 fewer rider spaces available for everyone ....... a load of riders will drop out 5 fewer doubling up spaces ..... so the likes of the worralls etc will struggle 6 the great 4s weekend is slaughtered.... back to 8 and 1 day 7 a cup competition of just 10 ,,, great more chance to see 9 teams 8 PLRC is everyones top 1 ... plus your second .......................... even weaker field 9 Play off to get promoted..... yeah we tried one and sunday tracks cant race in elite league .......... super..... great idea 10 stupid name change .... nowt wrong with elite and premier 11 the fixture list clashes have not been resolved and with fewer riders around ....... everyone is going to see weaker teams The promoters are excited by the plans !! ... great the fans aren't this will be seen as the worst agm decision of all time ............. the promotors have weakened both leagues and not even thought about the reality of fixture clashes, shortage of riders and a weaker product they expect everyone to pay the same for speedway in UK is in serious trouble ........ it needed a radical shake up and not this typical half arsed compromise to keep some elite promotors happy there should have been 1 premier league with all teams and a 40 point cap - with 8 of those teams also fielding an elite team in a separate top flight competition ....... with the others just riding in knock out cup , end of season trophy with the league champions decided by just league results whilst elite could have their playoff final the elite 8 - 20 premier league matches + 7 elite and 2 potential playoffs.... 27 to 29 meetings the other premier 13 - 20 premier league matches, cup 1-4 matches ... 1-3 playoffs ..... 2 pre season friendlies ..... 24-29 meetings in a season that is 32 weeks long I will support my diamonds through thick and thin but 2017 I am not looking forward too ............. apart from seeing ricky wells ride 10 times at brough (1 friendly, 1 cup, 2 league and 1 playoff as Workington visit just 5 times... and then he guests 5 times for the other teams ................)
  8. 40 points is a total joke - completely weakening the league premier league or should I say the joke championship league is down to 10 teams ......... 70 riders rather 91 last year a lot of riders are now in serious trouble ...... especially with the 2.5 reduction
  9. Whys Robert free ? Can we build a team around 1 Robert 5 steve with Ashley at 6 and a 3 pointer ................. Mind you probably will have to be Robert or Steve ............
  10. Whilst the riders may not be as good - I think elite league fans would be surpised at how competitive and better the racing is in the premier league But my idea creates a potential quality eltie product and a possibly better premier league with 18-20 teams It wont happen though ... too much self interest with the elite promoters ...... but it clear that the elite league is a struggling product ......... look what it did to poor Birmingham
  11. well something drastic needs to be done .... current situation is creating a very weak top league doubling up and fixture clashes are hurting premier league and we are still are not doing enough to encourage British riders - the gap at international level continues to growth
  12. I'm not advocating that all teams have a number 7 on a 3 point average - im just assuming given the averages we will have to find one !!!!! I would have thought a lot of number 7's will keep place on their 3-4 point average Anyone over 4 should now be a number 6 in 2017 Don't know exactly but I would have thought only 3-5 new riders from NL are needed with 8-10 of the current 13 number 7 still riding at 7 next year
  13. How about this - the Elite league is run is the same way as Sweden and Poland - just a top of 8 teams over 14 meetings - 1 home and away running on Monday nights only So that gives them 7 top class home meetings then semi final and final The 8 EL and Premier League would join and ride in one large league riding on Wed-Sun The 8 EL clubs would not take part in the early season League Cup or the Knock Out Cup or an end of season playoffs trophy - but they would have 18-20 competitive home matches + their 7-9 EL matches The EL clubs would effectively have a premier league team - and for the elite league they could have 3 foreign riders and any 4 riders from the premier league (not necessarily guys from their own premier league team) This would allow at least 32 riders in the premier league to double up (and more if a squad system is used) and open up more opportunities for younger british riders in the premier league as there would be more spots available
  14. I love the silly season when people come up with teams that will never happen with us having to 'reduce' to 42.50 we have limited options if we want 2 heat leaders as in Worrall/ lambert - kus or lindgren will have to go however I think promoters are committed to kus and lindgren so its probably only 1 8+ average rider the key is the reserves .... we must have a strong 6 that's why morris would be top of my list and at 7 we have a get a 3 pointer who can at the minimum ride to his 3 point average
  15. Glasgow is a cracking race track and facilities - well worth a visit ... enjoyed both visits this year .... despite the results ....
  16. well Sheffield have pulled off two of the biggest shocks ever - and I cant congratulate them enough (even though my diamonds lost  ) but im not a fan of the playoffs either I hope the rebels win - just cos they are the best team and deserve it league champions should be league winners and then top 8 play off in end of season competition people moan the end of season playoffs aren't taken seriously .... well they are by the team that wins them lets get back to the old system .......... pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. a lot of riders want to ride for Newcastle because they know George is very loyal to his riders and will only make changes in desperate circumstances unlike a lot (NOT ALL) who seem to axe and change per every greensheet I cant imagine a lot of riders rushing to peterboro ......... how many changes did they make in a season? I was there at Peterboro and all the Newcastle supporters were stunned at what happened - it was disgraceful mind you more bizarrely the Peterboro supporters cheered the sackings ... then cheered the sacked riders as they came out to chat to crowd..... and we won away ... happy days
  18. it was 1 Newcastle fan who didn't understand rules you haven't come up with a viable alternative to guests and rules are clear - in play offs you can not use anymore involved in playoffs in cup u can use anymore simples
  19. Kus cant ride the track ? What are you on about ..... the one thing I will give the lad credit for has been ability to learn to ride the track as well as his clear enthusiasm to do well for the club He made an error in tricky conditions This year i've seen lambert and Worrall both inexplicably slide off in much better conditions......... it happens
  20. What is it with people and guests !!!!!!!!!!!!! How else do you cover injuries ............. Just a shame every bloody guest we face has a stormer !!!!!!!! I had no issues with sissis guesting for Glasgow ........... just as I didn't have a problem with Sheffield using 3 against us at Newcastle
  21. Keith - good use of stats ! but sadly missing the point Glasgow and Newcastle are two finely matched good teams Rye House aren't ... look at the league table Pre October - we would have won comfortably and read George's column he concedes Rye House kept it competitive......... I was merely making the point we went off the boil in October ........ that's fact .... look at the scores........ or should that be a
  22. Well I would like to thank the promoters for assembling a team with such promise and could challenge on all fronts They put together the team - but sadly were not rewarded Our hopes were dashed in the league cup through BSPA, pairs and fours by national authorities Injury to Robert in the PLRC But with Cup and League to go in October it all looked good (as we were most peoples tips to win)..... however we have to be honest ... and we have imploded in October and only Robert and Ashley can say they have ridden to their ability So the end has raised several question marks over the team for next year Robert - been a joy to watch and would love him back but I think hes Poland bound. If not then he has to be our number 1 Victor - early September he had impressed me. Since beating Cook he's gone colder than an Arctic winter and has disappeared in October. Sadly a no Matej - a real puzzle - rode our place much better than expected but didn't up his average much and also disappeared in October when needed. He would be in danger with the averages if I were in charge, but as a club asset he probably safe Ludvig - club skipper and whens he's on form he is 8.5+ but needs to raise his consistency. form slippage possibly due to fatherhood. Yes - and as a skipper Steve - a definite yes but if Robert is available he may lose on team averages Ashley - a definite ......... did a fine job and no way to blame for the October results Danny - no no no ........ the lad is not good enough atm and the experience of being thrashed every week hasn't raised his game. Needs to stay in NL Terio - too much of risk on his average Lewis - a definite yes although will find it harder in main body 1 2 3 Lewis 5.86 4 Matej 7.55 5 Ludvig 7.65 6 Ashley 4.83 7 TBC 3.00 That adds up to 28,89 leaving 13.61 for 1 and 2 which could be Robert 8.76 and brandford 4.60 (at 6 with Ashley at 2) or Steve 8.51 and Josh Bates 5.02
  23. Just got back after a hugely disappointing display by Newcastle Firstly congratulations to Glasgow, they thoroughly deserved their victory ........... rode much over the 2 legs and most significantly they rode as team with I believe all 7 positions winning ride. well done guys as for Newcastle - well after last night... the promised fight was sadly lacking..... apart from lambert who was superb despite only making the gate once..... and morris who must have been beat up..... it was a desperately poor showing ..... and again a 4 man team with Victor and Danny doing nowt (Danny's points were gifts from the tigers reserves) the meeting was effectively over by heat 5 with it being 20-10 ............. the final thrashing was more a reflection of pumped up winners outgating a deflated bunch as we lost the last 4 heats 19-5 and as for Newcastle being built for the playoffs, they were poor v Sheffield ... made heavy weather of Rye House and well beaten by Glasgow..... we were founding wanting at the business end and the pressure told on several of our riders .... who crumpled. A winter of much reflection for us..... Well done Glasgow, would have been a travesty if you hadn't won anything, hope you all had a good celebration ........... roll on 2017
  24. well it would be a travesty for this team to win nowt ............ so my heart says diamonds to win 46-44 with a lambert 15 max and morris 14 points from 7 rides ................. however my realistic head says......... more likely a Glasgow win 51-39 leaving Newcastle to ponder a season of ifs buts maybes......... sport is cruel.........
  25. Glasgow website says kus r/r heart says 46-44 ........... head 39-51 now ...................... 7 rides for Ashley tonight ... hope he's fit........... any news on Ashley and danny ?
