If it is the last season souvenir hunters will be collecting memorabilia from the back straight bogs.

King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Ovalman replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hope it doesn't go on for 5 hours like Swindon's double header last year against 2 different teams, bloody boring. Lucky it was an August Bank Holiday afternoon meeting. -
Poole v Swindon Prem B. 22/8/18
Ovalman replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think Swindon's winning run in Dorset will end, gash away and not much better at home this year. Will be surprised if they make top 4 now, about 54-36 oi reckons. -
Batch top rider again, Morra not good enough, well done to Belle Vue, 2 wins two nights running in the West country.
-
52-38 Wolves win. Poole, Zummerzet, KL, in playoffs, the other 3 battle it out till end of season.
-
Excellent but the Toby Carvery is 2 miles from track!
-
Probably why fans have deserted league speedway in droves. Riders turning out for different teams.

Somerset vs Belle Vue Premiership 15/08/18
Ovalman replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shock result, will be a battle at The Abbey twice now for a playoff place. -
Swindon's top 5 will be too strong for the Mancs, hopefully, and Zach is on fire. Will go 50-40, with no Cook or Riss. Berge is a danger.

Remember the night he died, my dad came into my room to wake me and tell me the sad news. Had his rosette on my wall.

On riders seen..Fundin Mauger Briggs Olsen Nielsen Rickardsson Craven Crump Moore Knutsson

The chips aren't that bad. Back straight bogs are a nightmare, home straight not too bad. And the coiderr ain't bad, and we've had Sun this year. Most races are over by the second bend lap 1. Zummerzet has far better racing, and you are looking down onto the track rather than through fences and a dog track.

What happened to the Madchester Mexicans?
-
But it is winnable, same as last year. Wolves had shock win at Blunsdon, Robins winning at Wolves.
-
Was crowd down on the meeting 2 weeks ago in the blazing heat? French Dave Tobi Zach and Adam are going great at mo, just need to get Morra winning some races to reach playoffs.

Was good to see one tiger beating 5 heads

The continuing decline of Speedway

Can only speak for Swindon but a few league attendances at The Abbey matched or beat the Grand Final crowd last season. -
Should be able to beat Vue twice to hopefully reach playoffs. With Poole home and away and Wolves away need these two home wins.
-
Will save my money for next week against Vue, Lions were only at The Abbey 2 weeks ago. Kept it level 18-18 then Robins pulled away, after Morra had 2 falls and withdrew, with a few efs for Swindon. Will go 56-34 for the Robins.

Rosco now changed his mind, the defeat was not down to bad attitude, but mechanical problems. 6 engine failures in total. Might have got Swindon a point. -
The continuing decline of Speedway

If only all meetings were like the one at Zummerrzet last night. Very good racing and passing, and big crowd on a decent summer's evening. It was finished at 9.00 with an interval. -
Recent tweet from MP Tomlinson, further meetings on stadium to be held. The council want assurances. Will wait and see then.

How many there roughly? Certainly a lot more than April last year. Swelled by holidaymakers and big contingent of Robins fans.
