  1. I tried going to my local PROFESSIONAL sporting track (Snetterton) ....you try getting in for a tenna ! - I think you are the one winding us up, maybe speedway is not for you, seriously
  2. Come on....kart racing, hill climbing, not a comparable, sorry we'll just have to disagree I don't begrudge paying because I know what must go into it..........
  3. You must be having a laugh, ("£10 event") a couple of drinks in the pub ! Do you have the faintest idea how much it costs to set up a speedway event and run these kind of bikes ? I think you must be living in another world mate, I don't know any decent sporting events for a tenna. Can you understand what it costs to keep these venues open...first aid, insurances, public liability, staff, safety equipment, shale, advertising/ social media, rider's. In essence the more money in the pot - the more professional speedway can be run.
  4. I think referring to the pricing at "£1 per minute" is an insult to the hours of work day in, day out that promoters put in to get a meeting on. Its a very naiive point of view if I may say so, and if you compare speedway to most other sports like seeing grown men kick a ball around you might consider speedway good value for money. I do agree that National League racing feels very much like a poor relation to the Upper leagues and it shouldn't be. As one that has been watching speedway for forty Years and my Dad before me, we actually find National League the best and we have watched every level. Seeing young rider's progress is very satisfying and I for one don't begrudge paying, in fact I am surprised its not more considering the cost of keeping the equipment on track ! Come on guys, I know its not perfect but lets get behind our Sport
  5. My point is.......I don't think you can make informed opinons and judgements based on watching five matches a Year !
  6. Funnily enough we have lives too, and I bet put in more working hours than anyone...but real supporters don't pick and choose matches they try and support their team at all of them. Win, lose or draw the real supporters are there ...discuss
  7. With the right equipment I think Heeps will kick on a bit next Year
  8. Think Hume might do well away from home !
  9. Must your computer...mine worked fine ?
  10. Like the look of this team, here's hoping for a good Season........... Love watching Danny K, Nico, Heeps, Mountain and Hume, think Schleiny could be a good addition and don't know an awful lot about Kyle but think he could be good too !
  11. Yeah, we got a load of verbal abuse from the Eastbourne fans last Sunday, especially in the car park after the match cos they thought we were Brummie supporters and we were neutral anyway.....what plebbs !
  12. Echo this....."my" team is now well finished for the Season, so I thought I would take my Dad (an Eastbourne supporter since 1952!) down with the rest of the family to catch this match. We stood near the start line and got a load of verbal abuse and ridiculous behaviour going to the car after the match from prats who obviously thought we were Brummy fans even though we were supporting Eagles ! These plebbs don't deserve to call themselves Eastbourne fans and I doubt we will be going back which only hurts the Clubs profits in the end. Its a shame because we've probably supported this Club for over 80 Years between the four of us..so who are the real fans ?? We all like to support our Team and noise and banter creates a great atmosphere, but this goes beyond reasonable behaviour....
  13. We don't know how lucky we are Bruno, All things being equal we should be packed to the rafters every week !
  14. Just wanted to say, Unlucky Witches, gutted again at the last hurdle. Have to say though, the atmosphere at Foxhole this Year has been SO much better, I've enjoyed watching the Team all Season. We really need to get these Reserves sorted though please for next Season CL ?? (Good reserves are imperitive for a successful season, why is it all the top teams pick the best options...money ?) "The massif" really contributed to the feel, for Years it felt like we were the only ones shouting any encouragement, at last some support. Well done to Mr Presenter as well for getting on board with it. Still think we can take it alot further though in the stands though. Dissapointing last match, but its been a great Season, thanks guys.
  15. ...Bet you don't mind the Play Offs after all eh Cliffeboy, just goes to show "if you're good enough...your good enough", well done Rebels, can't argue with that !
  16. Don't be too polite to them Rebs please Mr Presenter we want to ruffle their feathers, just like they do to us when we visit their place ?
  17. I agree its nice to have some extra meetings, but I just feel this could be our Year this Year !
  18. If we want to be the best we have got to beat the best, our home record of late gives me hope, we need to support our team and not necessarily give them too much back !
  19. According to the website local businessman Guy Nicholls has offered £5000 to the Witches if they win the league !
  20. Totally agree with you yet again !...looks like a guest (reserve) from a main team placing can win you you the cup. When are the "authority's" going to think these things through. Also how ridiculous is it that Coles who rode for Ipswich against Rebels only a few days ago, rides for the rebels today, wouldn't happen in any other sport..its farcicle
  21. Couldn't agree with you more Gordon Bennett, as long as there are no injuries, the last thing supporters want to see is follow my leader for four laps
  22. I agree, riders safety the most important thing. Happen to think that Brandford and Bacon are a good match up with Jacobs and Coles, so could be closer than you think in the round.
  23. The way I understand it is that the Promoters all get together and vote and then decide how the competitions will be run, so I guess if you don't like it, you need to petition your powers that be to change it ? I also think though with the aggregate situation, some clubs have much more home advantage than others so points overall over a season are not necessarily a guage of just how successful your riders have been on the whole. Its entertainment anyway when its all said and done so the more excitement and interest caused, the better on the terraces...and money in the coffers are whats most needed. Re the double points, I do agree though, I think it should be like the Swedish system where you can nominate a replacement rider and not give double points. ...Its like everything though, when the system suits you, you like it, and when it doesn't, you don't.
  24. At the end of the day Cliffeboy everyone in speedway knows the system and making the play offs is the main objective, followed by a strong showing at the end of the Season, so whilst I agree its great to end top, everyone knows thats not the main objective. Its not like anyone has just sprung it on you ! Lets face it you have had plenty to shout about in previous Seasons with some justly proud results, but I think this is just sour grapes. Anyway, you may still win it in any case...lets see.
