  1. Thank you both, thats great info and really reassuring, not been to Poole for well over a decade and will have my little one with me so it's good to know we should be able to park at or near the stadium. Really looking forward to it and hopefully we'll see a Pirates win
  2. Hi all, looking for a bit of advice. I’m coming down for Poole v Scunthorpe next week and was planning to park at the stadium. What time do you usually need to arrive to get a space? And if it’s full, what’s the best alternative - town centre parking and walk over?
  3. Great GP weekend. Cardiff has so much to keep you entertained outside of the GP. We spent time in the Bay (Techniquest is great if you've got little ones), City Centre is full of things to do (Fan Park. Shops, Castle etc), but all of that is of course secondary to the main event. Hats off to the organisers, that was a really good GP, crucially with the track much improved. It delivered some decent racing, with a couple of different lines working from early doors, and whilst some gates were preferable you really could win from any of them which kept things interesting. Yes, attendance was down, but the stadium still generated a top atmosphere, and I won't lie I quite liked not queueing to get in, or for food or the toilets so if people want to stay away again next year I couldn't give a monkeys, if it's in Cardiff again I'm 100% returning!
  4. Its a scheme offering members of the blue light community (i.e NHS and emergency service staff) free tickets to sporting events, concerts etc.
  5. Yep, seat details on the left, QR code (I.e scan box) on the right, and then a green arrow underneath in the middle? If so yours sound exactly like mine
  6. I think Bewley winning last year may actually have had an adverse effect on this year's ticket sales. I know that sounds odd, but I reckon for many people one of the reasons for coming back year after year is the fear of missing out, but having seen a British winner last year perhaps that fear has been somewhat diminished? Don't get me wrong, many other factors at play will be more significant, but I do wonder if Bewley winning has had a net positive or negative effect?
  7. Organisers need to be very careful here, give away too many free tickets and/or complimentary upgrades from lower priced categories and they may end up putting some people off of renewing (certainly at the higher price points) for the GP in 2024.
  8. I've seen a few comments along the lines of Bewley's win having saved Cardiff. I agree it saved the occasion this year, but I wonder if it will work for or against the event next year? Yes, some will return to see if he (or another Brit) can win it again, but I expect for others they no longer have the fear of missing out on a British win having seen it this year so perhaps psychologically easier to take a break from it next year?
  9. Wow, that's really good value for next year's hotel, I've just been looking and several city centre hotels aren't available for booking yet as we're more than a year out, and those which are taking bookings are all comfortably above £200 per night. Any chance you want to share the hotel name, or what booking site you've used to find the good deals? Anything to help me keep the costs down!
  10. We've always sat somewhere in the banking on turns 1 & 2 (i.e the upper tier where its two tiers only) but I must say it felt incredibly cramped in there last night, not sure if it was the lack of leg space, the heat, the duration of the meeting or envy of the rest of the stadium where the crowd appeared far more sparse. Can anyone whose sat there and other places in the stadium let me know whether there is more room elsewhere? I'm tempted to move for next year to one of the other three stands as I'm assuming as they aren't so steep they may have more leg room?
  11. One member of our group doesn't have a phone, hence no ticketing app. As all the tickets cufrently show in my app (I.e I'm the lead booker) I'm guessing I can simply show the ticket on their behalf but I can't see that confirmed anywhere. Does anyone know? Actually, on further thoughts it might be easier to just to show the tickets on my phone for the whole group rather than getting everyone else to download the app and going through the transfer process. My lord they've made this more complicated than it needs to be!
  12. Thanks for the further advice. If I was on my own I'd probably give the bus/train a go to save a few quid, but with Dad in tow I'm going to opt for the taxi with the added benefit of now knowing to agree a fixed price, roughly how much to expect to pay, and not to get in the drivers seat! Fingers crossed the events can go ahead as planned, and that for anyone else travelling you have a safe and enjoyable trip
  13. Can anyone that's been before confirm the best way to get from Bydgoszcz Airport to Torun Centre please? it appears you have to take a local bus into Bydgoszcz centre first, and then try to time it with an onwards bus/train to Torun, which even if you time well is a considerable journey. I'm thinking a local taxi might be best as my Dad can't walk very well at the moment, but again would love to hear if people feel the taxis are a sensible option and reliable? Thanks in advance, we are really looking forward to this one after doubting we would ever make it.
  14. Hancock is box office and with his pedigree and media friendly persona he does wonders for the marketing of the SGP series. I would imagine that so long as he's able and willing to race in the series then there will always be a place for him.
