Just for info but Gino Manzares is coming back to Speedway and rides in Europe in 2023. Just signed SWE 2nd Div and is looking for clubs/s elsewhere in Europe. May be nothing as far as UK is concerned but his last finishing GSA listed as 4 in 2018 (no doubt could get a reduction MAYBE ?? ) having not ridden in UK in 4 years). His name was bantered around I think at one time as a possile Poole candidate ?? His 32 match av was in fact 3.85 according to Speedway Stats.co.uk excl BP which took it to 4.54. May be interesting if he was given a below 4 revised rating as a possible reserve contender. Anyway as said probably nothing in it but just one to put out there as its only recently been put out on the POL Sportowefakty Speedway site.

Think it was quite a while out and was a serious injury. Only raced after the injury for the first time that season in Aug 2020. Bearing in mind when POL finishes meant he near enough missed most of that season. Yes it did hamper his initial progress but stayed in POL I believe, and really showed the potential was there both in the initial POL EXL U24 season just gone for Leszno his parent club plus in about 7 meetings for his loaned out Lge1 Club Krosno. Odd meetings in DK as well I believe. That's what makes him look so attractive in our Champ on a 5 GSA.

Correct - Article said he didn't, same with another rider, so field was reduced by 2.

Zischke in the Aussie U21 finals a week ago. Also remember both Pearson & Hook had the benefit of a full UK season. I wonder if tate was on a Polish tuned engine how close it may have been with Rew as on that first lap he gave it a good go arguably on inferior equipment. Remember the lad is only 17. Rew is 19 and had at least 2/3 seasons living and racing in Poland. he is also staying there is 2023 flying in and out of UK. Probably has both good equipment -top rated engine tuners etc. Australian Junior Individual Championships: 1. Keynan Rev (3,3,3,3,3) 15+1. 1st place in final A 2. Tate Zischke (3,1,3,3,3) 13+2. 2nd place in A final 3. James Pearson (1,3,2,3²2) 11+1. place in the B+3 final. 3rd place in final A 4. Jacob Hook (2,3,3,3,1) 12+4. 4th place in final A 5. Fraser Bowes (3,2,2,2,2) 11+2. place in B-final 6. Maurice Brown (3,1,1,2,2) 9+3. 1st place in final B 7. Liam May (1,2,3,D,3) 9+4. place in final B 8. Cordell Rogerson (2,2,2,1,2) 9 9. Michael West (UW,3,0,2,3) 8 10. Jack McDiarmid (0,2,1,2,D ) 5 11. Patrick Hamilton (1,1,1,1,1) 5 12. Lachlan Hayes (2,UW,0,1,0) 3 13. Harrison Ryan (2,0,NS,D,1) 3 14. Tom Dixon (1,0,1,1,D) 3 15. Jackson Milner (T,0,2,0,UW) 2 16. Teagan Pedler (0,1,0,0,1) 2

That lad is only 17 and has received rave reviews from Darcy Ward who said he reminds him of a young Darcy at the same age. He has in the last few weeks regularly beaten Pearson & Hook and won the NSW U21 Championship. He has an exciting style and his performance in the Aussie U21 Champ was impressive and only Rew who was probably riding his 2022 POL tuned engines who beat him in the final. Personally from what I have seen of his riding he has all the signs of an exciting one for the future. But we can all have an opinion
-
Does Aussie U21 not qualify then ?? Have the likes of Pearson & Hook managed to achieve then ? Pearson was only 16 when he arrived start of last season and Hook was only 19.
-
If that is the case then I can only think it will be down to the cost cutting as a result of our drop down into Champ. Rew flying in and out has a cost associated and maybe also lodging racks up costs. Zischke certainly has a cost associated to him as a 17 year old requiring lodging - equipment - sponsorship - transport etc. Maybe Poole want to avoid all of these kind of costs and we know the Cook's have tied up Middlo's place which used to be the haven for young Aussies like kurtz/Ward back in the Prem days. If they are both not in our team then I question what Danny's idea of his Dream Team is ??. I await with eager anticipation for the all to become clear comments and the why.
-
Based on what info ??. Well informed source or just an opinion ??

I see that young Zischke was a little unlucky but rode quite well in the Queensland State Champ earlier today. Speedway News PL reported the following regarding his efforts. However, Tate Zischke can talk about a lot of bad luck. The recently crowned Australian Junior runner -up in the second series of heats miscounted the laps. Therefore, from the three points next to his name, we wrote down only "one" and from the last qualifying place he advanced to the B final. Finished second in the B Final to Zane Kennedy but beat both Keleher and Hook.Just needs to refine his lap counting skills . May well have cost him a place in the A Final. Still looks a rising star at 17 I believe. Queensland State Championships at Bowen: 1. Ryan Douglas (3,3,3,3,3) 15+ 1st A-Final 2. Declan Kennedy (3,3,1,3,2) 12+ 2nd A-Final 3. Kozza Smith (3,3,3,2,1) 12+ A-final defect 4. Zaine Kennedy (2,D,3,3,3) 11+ 1st place B+W A-final 5. Tate Zischke (1 ,1,2,2,3) 9+ 2nd B-Final 6. Jacob Hook (2,2,1,3,2) 10+ 3rd B-Final 7. Zane Keleher (2,3,2 ,2,3) 12+ 4th B-final 8. Bradley Page (0,2,3,1,1) 7 9. Cordell Rogerson (0,2,2,1,2) 7 10. Flynn Nicol ( 0,1,2,2¸1) 6 11. Matthew Day (1,2,W,1,2) 6 12. Broc Hall (3.0 ̦D,1.0) 4 13. Riley Campbell (1.1 ,1.D,W) 3 14. Jacob Samwell (2,W,0,0,0) 2

Apologies (Also to Skidder) - Just found it on IPS full press release. Going to be a busy boy then in and out every week. He could well on a busy week over our 2 leagues ride Mon Prem/Tues (Plym)/Wed (Poole ?/) /Thur (Ippo) and Friday (northern Champ). I assume he will stay in UK on weeks where he has several meetings in a week here. He is young and hopefully will cope with all the travelling & racing.
-
Is that known Skidder ?? I know on a youtube video some time ago he said he was living in Leszno but that's because he was riding in Leszno U24 team all season (all midwwek matches) with some guest appearances at 8 for the EXL Team. Plus he was riding some Sundays for Krosno who he was partially loaned to. Also some DK meetings when not clashing with the U24 team. Next season he will be loaned full time to Gdansk (Mainly Sundays), with no U24 league. In effect on a regular basis MON Prem/Tue odd meetings at Plym/Wed poss Poole ??/Thur Ippo/Fri the Northern Champ tracks and Sun POL. Could he maybe base himself in UK if doubling up and then back to his POL base for the weekend meetings. Just a thought.

Must admit disturbed by what I am reading on the press release on Speedway news.PL about Rew and signing for Ipswich (released today). The Australian was looking for a suitable job after the season in the Danish league. According to unofficial information, he will also be targeting a backroom contract - the SGB Championship The article more worrying goes on to say: it is very possible that the Australian will try to get involved in the Championship. Finally, the 19-year-old wants to use his starts in Britain to develop his skills. Rumors speak of an engagement in the northern part of Great Britain, most likely Scotland. Please nooooooooo.......... Maybe his good friend Doyle didn't bury the hatchet with Poole . I do hope i'm wrong. The article did use the word RUMOR so maybe the correspondent has not been looking in on the Poole Forum
-
No Rew on 5 and Zischke on 4 I was of the understanding. Both fit, its a case of whats left which not a lot. Beleive tate only had a few guest rides/meetings in DK second Div before going back to Aussie just to test the water. In effect NO real racing experience in Europe of note.
-
Quite to my surprise Redcar only another 58 miles (one way) difference from Ipswich compared to Poole, so not too much longer for the guy to travel one would think. Good luck to the guy I say. Been a good Captain Had it tough at times last season with his equip, but came good when it mattered.
-
Sure we will know ours - EVENTUALLY , Just want news on Rew & Zischke but patience is the key word. I should know better having played this name our team game the last few seasons. At least we near enough know its only 3 to be sorted but WHICH 3 ???
-
Well we know it's Morris as No 1 at Brum. So no timed agreement with Danny leaving. I'm sure Danny's fixed up though.
-
I think all 3 options only had 2 H/L so arguable one had to go. If Danny did have a decent offer from another club on the table then a difficult decision for whichever H/L it was in effect was avoided. Also meant Danny didnt get kept waiting which one while others snapped up the slot he was initially offered. Nice if it was as all parties move on as friends.
-
Maybe not but IF he had a decent offer on the table plus Danny could at that time not commit what his squad would be, and knowing the 40 points would mean letting one of the three go then maybe they reached an amicable agreement that suited all parties. Whether that be Brum or any other side.
-
Based on Danny's Echo comments I get impression that maybe rider/s had been approached about signing for 2023, and maybe as Danny had not at that stage fully sorted his 2023 squad and had to let one of his H/L go to meet the new 40 points, the decision was a mutual one to allow Danny to sort now (or around time of the delayed play off final), so in a way suited both parties without Danny having to make that awful decision of which one do I let go.Just my opinion.
-
Sorry you did say rider announcement - imminent. That's what we have got I suppose, exactly that
-
So is that it for today. Any new rider to come tonight ??
-
Thanks Interesting stats on Speedway News POL He rode 7 matches for Krosno - 31 rides and achieved a ride av of 1.742 so 6.97 per 4 rides incl bonus points. Maybe unfair to compare with riders who rode most/all season so 16/18 matches but his av per ride was above riders such as Riss/Nilsson/Kvech/Mads Hansen/Becker/Bangs/Miedzinski/Lindback/Gala. When you consider POL Lge 1 is similar quality to our Prem, then on a 5 for Champ it will be a possible bargain if we get him.
-
If not a stupid question. Why would Rew come in on a 5 but Pearson comes in on a 4. Reason for asking is that both rode for POL EXL sides in the U24 competition last season (its first ever season). Rew rode 11 and Pearson i think rode 12 matches. Is it anything to do with Rew having ridden in junior teams/leagues there in 21 as thought he had a bad injury that kept him out between 20/21 period. Just trying to understand the why.
-
Thought Danny Ford in his Echo write up said had already had conversations with all the riders before the delayed play off final to inform them who would/wouldn't not be coming back in 2023. If Ablitt waiting for the phone to ring it indicates he was told he is not in current team plans. Will be interesting if Danny gets his so called "Dream Team" as he puts it or end up with his back up plan B or C.
-
Well the GSA av don't lie and he is 7.92 before the 2.5% Brit reduction. That is not a bad top 3, and with a proven 10.58 man to lead them you are going to get plenty of points out of them. just a question of whether they have enough at the bottom ??. I think on many a day those bottom 4 could struggle to get 10 between them but that's just my opinion. Anyway as i said only posted it on here to express a view of I wonder which direction Poole will take. personally I think they will go for more strength in depth.
