  1. so lakeside lakeside, scunny ,redcar and newcastle all rode well and could only beat what was in front of them, well actually, for most part, tigers riders were well behind them.these are teams that last year we were pretty much smashing, particularly at home.with the exception of kyle and to a lesser extent todd and if they would have been off form then we would have been annihilated last night.we did to some extent but could have been even worse.what has happened to the riders gating skills, they seem to have gone awol, for a home team to have to wait until ht13 to get a heat advantage just about sums it up.my verdict on last nights performance jason-poor night by his standards but didn't realise he is carrying an injury so fair enough. todd-i like todd but he seems far too inconsistent for me.v.good rider one minute then average the next. kasper-liked the looks of him and seemed pretty much on the pace.given the circumstances,a fair debut but only time will tell. broc-looked very handy when he first signed but looks to be a confidence rider and looked off the pace last night. kyle-what can you say.led by example, attacked the track, exciting to watch.if it wasn't for him...........well connor-another decent debut, good heat win and mixed it a bit james-another i like but is frustrating to watch.has the capability as we all know. i fear for the meeting next week and for once, in a very long time, am not enjoying speedway a.t.m.am not going to comment on who needs to stay but think that to a degree this team needs tearing apart and onwards and upwards for 2019.
  2. could be interesting then as redcar hit is with 2 5-1,s in the first 2 last week.you could have more strength in depth than us.
  3. you don't have to be that strong.hopefully a home win but after the last 3 weeks at home i couldn't be confident in predicting the outcome.
  4. probably right on this one.i think we may be a bit stronger at reserve and this could sway the meeting for us.cant really comment too much on the andersen front but its not really that area that concerns me, what does concern me is whether other members of the team can get back to more consistent scoring.if newcastle come with their tales up and the tigers ride like they have done over the last few weeks at home then i fear the worse.
  5. no.2 plus 2 now equals 5 in speedway.totally bonkers
  6. not too bothered really what he scores.speedway in general has gone off the rails with rider changes galore.will i be ar..ed next season?who knows.
  7. sorry but can't agree on that one.conner mountain in at reserve yes good move but kasper for lasse at this stage daft really.he may score well for the last couple of home meetings but what if he doesn't score at all.unless the rest of the team perform we could be looking potentially at a couple more home losses and an away one.
  8. he obviously had been sacked then.i think that he has been treated appallingly.he would have ridden at redcar on friday and rode last night at derwent park to help the tigers to a point.they then announce that he has been replaced without any explanation, not even a "thankyou for your services and best wishes for the future"disgusting!!
  9. so, whats happening?has he been sacked or not.weird!!
  10. like i said, not down to manager, i think that there is more to this behind the scenes
  11. see what you mean although track set up would not affect riders gating.surely this is not down to riders lowering averages for next season?
  12. but was obviously doing the business last season so what has changed?maybe has taken on a bit too much in only his second season as managers don't know, but as i said, something is amiss.
  13. i was stood near the pits gate last night and the whole demeanour of the team didn't appear to seem right, yes the season has not been very good, going out of all competitions and taking the two heavy home beatings also but in contrast you could see the togetherness as a team in redcar, especially ben barker, much as he's not everyones cup of tea he did a true captains role and was out most races motivating the team and all credit to him, all this in stark contrast in the tigers camp.for all riders to be losing form is not right.something down at sheffield speedway is not right, culminating in what appears to be the loss of one of our most popular riders, and,if as reported on social media, let go under very unprofessional circumstances.seems that this may leave a bitter taste in a lot of peoples mouths.come on promotion, what the hell is going on, especially with a team who we know are much better than this.also,i know that the meeting was pretty much lost early doors ,but using the tac sub at heat 13 when we were already twelve points down, come on!was this just a token gesture to appease the crowd?i,now, cannot wait for the season to finish because everything seems to be pretty much shambolic.u.t.t
  14. witnesses including nike lunna have replied to lasses tweet but one of them says that lasse isn't telling the whole picture.this is bizarre.
  15. is this true? if it is it is a disgrace.obviously don't know the ins and outs but if true then why make lasse the scapegoat?
  16. i personally think that not having josh bates at either leicester or sheffield has done either club any favours.yes ,i do understand that accidents happen but to put yourself in that position to start with......well enough already said.
  17. totally agree.charles was struggling with his bike last night.it took quite some time to get it going on the warm up laps and i think carried through to the meeting.kyle looked very ordinary in his first few rides but ,as you said, did improve but he also looked a little down on power.no disrespect to danny phillips but kyle should have the beating of the reserves.lasse, for whatever reason, has started to look a little uncomfortable with the owlerton track.gone are his cavalier type blasts around the second and third bends.james looked o.k in patches.broc, after an encouraging start, seems to have gone backwards a little.todd was the stand out last night for the tigers, competed well and never gave up trying and a special mention to joe lawlor who looked well on the pace and looks, given times though he is going to be a very competent points scorer.after last weeks disaster i had reason to think that last night would definitely be an improvement but how wrong was i?as mentioned season now more or less well and truly over in what has been a quite timid defence of the title.hopefully we can finish with a bit of a flourish but some heads are going to have to be lifted and machinery sorted out otherwise another defeat could be on the cards next week.u.t.t
  18. good luck to georgie and thank you for his efforts but in all honesty have not seen any significant improvement from what he was last season.
  19. no, i wouldn't like to see the club run a series of potentially loss-making meetings and the fixture situation is not the clubs fault but the sooner the people that run the sport realise that they are killing it ,the better.as i mentioned before, continuity is what is needed, no as you said not particularly sheffield but most clubs, look at workington as an example.speedway is a sport where it has got to make the most of the weather as it is very weather orientated and to have long breaks for a lot of clubs given the weather has to be financial suicide even though as you pointed out they will still have the same amount of fixtures.when you also are trying your utmost to introduce new people to the sport and they take to it the first time they attend it is hard to explain that it might be another three weeks before they see another fixture and in that period their enthusiasm could well wane.this fixture situation needs to be resolved one way or another or i do genuinely fear for the promoters.
  20. there is no way that ever happens in speedway anyway.no club ever wins everything year in year out and it is very special when your club is doing well following numerous years without winning much.the problem is, if your team isn't winning anything then certain supporters enthusiasm starts to wain.i never mentioned that i wanted to see sheffield hammer teams week in week out, yes ,that would truly be not a good thing and i am all for close meetings with close racing, but given the nature of results, even losing a few meetings especially at home, means that it makes it v.difficult to even make the play offs.last season was fantastic if you were a sheffield supporter both home and away but we were never going to repeat that feat this season.
  21. why would it be "boring" winning the league title again.so you found winning the pairs meeting again for the second year "boring".myself and my son were certainly not stood at the oak tree shouting for the other teams because we thought that it would be boring for the tigers to win it again.the best thing for you then would be for you to be a neutral and not support one particular team.
  22. only because we have been fortunate not to have too many rain offs.but season over by 23rd august not taking in the c.r.f is not acceptable.
