  1. Well said.i know that Todd wasn,t having the best of times at Somerset but I too was gutted when he was left out of the team for this season but was more than happy when he came back.like you say,Todd is a very very good second string who now seems back on song since his return.i do hope that he does finish the season with a decent average because he deserves it.if Danny is losing a bit of form maybe he and Kyle could be a good shout for the pairs as Kyle seems to have picked up again.
  2. Hard luck paulco.good meeting fought out by two decent sides but our boys definitely had the edge.hope you enjoyed your carvery.have a safe trip home.
  3. paulco.good luck to you and your tigers but am hoping for a sheffield tigers win.
  4. not sure then.maybe he did it on monday.
  5. Stretched his leg ligaments in his last ride last Sunday but hopes to be back this Sunday.
  6. this match almost as farcical as the play off final between the two.
  7. not bothered about sheffield then seeing as its up for sale?
  8. too true and really i should be supporting my team but events of the past couple of days has left a slightly bitter taste.ty proctor has said that he feels like he was hounded a little but that the club would be better off as they are now instead of r/r and himself.not so sure i agree with that.
  9. now.conundrum time.do i take myself and the good wife off to see the tigers at leicester, pay £40 quid of my hard earned to see a team, although glad todds back, get hammered and see our former rider rub it in a bit more, or go to the eddie wright raceway and see a much closer meeting with closer racing, the bonus of seeing jensen again after last week, eat some nice scran and be home at a decent time.mmmm.what do you think fellow fans?
  10. bet it did.never laughed so much in ages.well done last night by the way.decent effort from both sides but thought that you definitely edged it.good luck at somerset.
  11. well, todd kurtz released by somerset.food for thought!
  12. track was same for both sides just that glasgow maybe attacked it a bit better.as for the rest of your post, least said the better!
  13. well, that was a corker of a meeting, passing in almost every race, track immaculate considering the amount of water that has fallen over the last couple of days.pie, chips and peas excellent as always as was the missisus curry sauce.my first speedway meeting of the season, glad in a way sheff was off.fine evening all round.well done scunthorpe.
  14. barker by far and away the most consistent rider of the two both home and away.would have him in any team of mine without hesitation.good to watch too
  15. yes.great news.hope this has shut the doubters up once and for all.never in doubt.
  16. what the heck.is this true.where did this info come from?
  17. but i thought all of the food proceeds were the stadiums anyway so surely the corporate entertainment that you mention plus all of us regular people eating ,profit wise goes to mr allen
  18. but trying to entice with fancy food etcisnt the answer.if you want a nice meal you go out to a restaurantpurely for that purpose.speedway is all about the basics and the atmosphere so i f you come to watch the speedway you come for that purpose alone.
  19. i remember my first visit to the old scunthorpe track at ashby ville.no posh carvery,no bar so no posh drinks, no terracing.just grass to stand on, they did invest a little later with,if i can recall, and somebody correct me if i am wrongs sawn in half double decker bus as a stand.the pits were just corrugated sheet metal on a frame and the ref was put in some sort of a shed, no turnstiles just someone taking money at a table(re buxton)but the racing there always seemed good too.if you are a true speedway supporter then basically that is all you need.think there might have been refreshments van as well.happy days
  20. totally agree, people don't particularly want posh restaurants, executive boxes and banqueting suites unless you've got plenty of cash.look at sunny.small bar and food facilities.open terracing.no sheffield but one hell of a terrific racetrack.i for one don't want to be in a goldfish bowl watching the racing, i want to be outside for the noise, smell etc.you may as well be watching it on the t.v if not.and i also agree with charlieboy,s comments that in a sport that is dying on its arse, the gap in fixtures is ridiculous.try explaining to a young kid that they cannot go for another 2 to 3 weeks because of the lack of fixtures.unfortunately times have changed and if the kids aren't doing other activities then they are stuck behind a screen of some description.the sport will almost definitely be running in another 5 years but not in this country.
