GP line-up and venues for 2026
teijahn replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wolffy certainly a big surprise, as too Mikkelson not even making the sub riders list when he has finished above Thompson in GP's, Polish and Danish League averages, and way ahead of Huckenbeck and Kvech who constantly prove they are not up to GP standard. Overall however, given the ridiculous bias against Emil and Laguta, a stronger lineup in my view than we've had for some years. -

Hopefully the mail is wrong on Becker, he is nowhere near GP level. -

Giving the idiots who organized this ridiculous format an uppercut would be more appropriate. With half the competitors 2 or 3 levels below the top riders why would you expect a crowd. One of the world's best stadiums/venues and nobody in it. Put the lesser teams in a B competition and have them ride at venues where national pride ensures home crowd involvement. -

Well put, and accurate. Look to the Polish Ekstraleague Averages (Far and Away the toughest International League) for confirmation. The new faces/new blood concept is ridiculous if not franked by consistent form in the top League/s against the World's top riders. As good as some of these young kids are it's a huge step from U21 & U24 competitions to the World top 16 or 20. The only new blood that has shown enough to suggest competitiveness at GP level is Drabik, & not quite new blood but Piotr Pavliski. -

If only, I can't see it but absolutely hope your source is correct. -
Absolutely ridiculous, and just one of many decisions that defy sanity made by the tools in charge How can anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together support a system where some riders are credited more points than they earned, and others less. Just allocate points earned during heats, and for the final.

It's a farce rather than a genuine Championship since the clowns in charge interfered in politics by eliminating the then World #1 & 3. Both still in good enough form to suggest they are among the top 15 in the world. Given their absence, here's my pick for 2026: GP7 BZ BK FL DB JH AL MF/RL SEC PD SGPC DK LM KW (AL) MJJ WC3 MF/RL MM/AT ??? Hopefully WC's are picked on form (including League form), rather than an FIM need to promote based on geography, however I can't foresee them choosing a 4th Dane, and geography might mean Kvech or Vaculik, despite his lack of competitiveness this season. If AL can overtake PD in the SEC, then Dudek really should get a WC. Beyond the obvious, if selectors were inclined to fresh blood over marginals, then Drabik or Piotr Pawliscki have good enough league form to suggest they could be competitive. -
Awesome win Brady. !!! & great to see Lebedevs on the podium.

Interesting tonight if Gate 3 is a graveyard as it was last night (2 wins from 23 races), Zmarzlik, Lebedevs, Lindgren, & Kvech have all drawn it twice. Doyle, Bewley, Kurtz & Holder are among those who have drawn Red or Blue twice. Notable, however that last year Yellow and White both provided more wins than either Blue or Red. Hopefully they've done some work and last night's horrific gate bias towards the inside 2 gates isn't replicated.
