Thomsen has been brilliant all season in the Leagues but has not produced his best other than on one occasion in the GP's. Janowski has had his chances to qualify and fallen just short, and Mikkelsen until recently has been below his best. I'm inclined to think that the FIM mentality still holds a trace of geography over form being a consideration which will leave me unsurprised if the nod goes to Kvech or maybe Jacobsen.

That should be enough for Gorzow to triumph at home with an aggregate win. Poznan juniors did great in this match at home but wont do as well away especially with Bednar back in the mix. I expect its been raised before but hard to understand the Polish system not allowing guest riders to cover injuries. It's big business, big money, and even when the club has done everything possible to secure a competitive team their future is still at the mercy of injuries and rider unavailability.

Sprint results will be absolutely crucial. As it is Kurtz for gold needs to win the final with Zmarzlik relegated to 3rd or lower, and Lambert 2nd. If sprint points of the three go against Brady that might be his chance of a title has to wait another year. Very interesting situation, and not just at the top, 4 riders within 1 point competing for 3 spots to make the seven is also a great contest.

That's a big call, and leaning more toward speculative than likely fact. Zmarzlik and Laguta both ride 2 leagues, Poland and Sweden. This season stats BZ is #1 both leagues with Poland 2.55 & Sweden 2.76 Heat average. Laguta is #4 both leagues with 2.38 Poland and 2.34 Sweden. I agree with your basic sentiment however, that Laguta should be in the Regular 15, as should Saifutdinov, and am very clear that politics has no place whatsoever in sport.

That might be a fair consideration. Freddie I would, like many, have expected to get a Wild Card before his return but post return and overall league stats this season generally below GP standard. His performance in the Torun GP may well have influence on his WC possibilities. Given how thin on the ground WC's are going to be this year that 3rd one is crucial, and if the final matrix is anywhere near as close as now it would be a tough call to deny an option to a rider who was within a point or two of top 7 cutoff after 10 rounds. 8th position getting a WC would be a much fairer result than as others have suggested, Jan Kvech. He's not quite ready yet but very likely will be within a couple of years. Maybe we get a dual qualifier in the SEC to free up a 4th wildcard.

Yeah, he has that safety net, but Madsen, Dudek, and Fricke don't, although Madsen or Dudek can qualify with a SEC win.

Who misses out on top 7 still a tricky situation. 1 point between 4 riders competing for 3 spots.

Appreciative of the link and ole mate who did a good job with the camera, but that track was pathetic in terms of what it offered for actual racing. Mostly processional and other than a few rare passes decided on lap 1 exit of Bend 2. Or so until I gave up on it about 3/4 of the way thru. Not sure after that about getting out of bed at 3am tonite for the GP, but hopefully something can be done trackwise to ensure that we actually get some racing.

His return should liven things up a bit, 10 paid 12 against Leszno seems his layoff hasn't compromised his ability. This will put more pressure on Dudek, Woryna, Madsen, and Fricke, given that only 3 of them will squeeze into the lower top 7 spots. Doyley wont be a GP rider in 2027 is very likely to be in his final GP season.

Being an Aussie, I thought it was a great match and result.☺️ But you have a point, despite being a magnificent venue and track looking great in pics and viewing, it did not seem to provide much actual racing/passing. Although the 'neutral' track issue is a step in the right direction away from the common slick offerings Poland is noted for and that most Poles thrive on.

Very disappointing meeting, especially given the supposed increased banking, widened corners and shale surface changes. Track certainly didn't show the multiple racing lines and improved racing that was the intent of the changes. Doesn't auger well for tonite where I had been expecting a first class GP on the back of track improvements.

Great meeting, enjoyed it, track was good. Congrats to Lambert, I'm not a fan but a deserved win on the wave of recent excellent form. Missed opportunity by Brady, with a rare meeting in which BZ didn't get setup right. Thought Fricke was stiff and deserved a better outcome, he needs to keep finding form to lock in a top 7 or he wont be there next year.

Doyle and Fricke aren't yet replaced. Excluding Holder, who will continue to slip down the order, Fricke is currently 7th in standings, and two points off 5th place. Doyley faces a tougher situation being 12 points off 7th place. With 4 GP's to go quite a bit can change below the top 3/4 who have a buffer over the rest. Who has been replaced at this stage, and will remain replaced, is Parnitski and Kubera. I take your earlier point about the Aussie Quals being tricky, it must be a right pain in the proverbial for the better riders to have to come back here, bring motors/bikes for a one week ordeal involving 4 meetings spread over thousands of miles. Great for fans but very tough on riders and no doubt an expensive exercise, and at the present stage, there are 10 Aussies good enough on our tracks to be viable chances for one of the too few 3 or 4 allocations. As a number of us have commented on in this thread, the qualifying system has a number of flaws in it and does not assure that we wind up with the best 15/16 riders in the world. Its more of a junket for 2nd and 3rd tier riders than a serious attempt to discern the genuine top echelon of riders. There are more intelligent options, some of which have been bounced around in this thread, but unfortunately, intelligence doesn't seem to be a feature in the decisions of FIM and organizational levels of speedway.
