Andersen is just helping Crump win the titile, he's taking points of his rivals, but one thing it's inproved the Gp's with Hans in them, shame he's points don't count towards the title, Millard mentioned he could finish in the top three, but won't qualify for next years GP's, he should win the Gp qualifier though

Cardiff 2008
Bill leahy replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But most fans will not be attending Euro 2008, only watching it on TV....as you say speedway clashes with football all the time, but if my team are at home in March the same day as Cardiff, it will be a difficult situation.......keep it June i say.... -

Yes Speedway star arrived this morning and does say bsi are looking to put the 100th Gp with a $100,000 purse on at Cardiff, "Where better to celabrate our 100th Gp than at the Millennium staduim" says John Poslethwaite......the idea might be good one, just a shame it happens to be March, and in the football season -

MARCH: on the speedway side the stadium has a roof, no problem here, but would you want to spend a long weekend in Wales in March, just spent a great week in Porthcawl, kids had fun, we had a great rest, watched speedway at Newport, spent the whole week of the school holidays, wouldn't do that in March....on the football side of things and a lot of us speedway fans have football season tickets, if my team was at home and playing Man U or the likes would not be going to Cardiff....went to the carling cup the other year in late February, god it was freezing, drove in watched the game and drove home again, not the Cardiff, nothing much open, not the Cardiff experience I was used to............... -
Cardiff was ........? well Cardiff, would we go if it was for the speedway.....not me ! but it's more than that, but bsi need to inject something into the Gp's, they are now getting boring, the same four or five riders at the bottom, out and out leader doesn't help. maybe we need gp qualifiers with the bottom four playing off with the next four every round, that would keep the bottom eight racing till the end, the same 16 riders is boring.....something has to change for me, because I'm not to interested about next year, like most speedway fans not interested in under 15's , pre-game entertainment, fireworks, just want speedway ! just my views you lot might feel different

Anybody who thinks the swindon WC round had anything to do with speedway needs to see a doctor, it was a cross between motox and grasstrack hence the english lads performance.. and a lot of luck ......think things went our way and we all got carried away>>>> but any thing can change: remember liverpool losing 3-0 at half time in the European final
-
Why are the commentators going on about Runa Holta riding for Poland: this is the new rule in all sport, anybody ! where ever they ride, play if they stay and work in a country they can adopt that countries nationality......was hoping Carlo Cudicini would change his mind and play for England: at the moment he could properly ride a bike better than what Nicki Pedersen is doing

Cardiff Gp - 2nd Severn Crossing
Bill leahy replied to Anders`'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
they also have mobile camaras on the M4 between junction 14 - 18 highlighted on the news latley, they can read your car's speed a half mile away, and don't forget................ ""those new electronic signs on the M4? Well they were switched on by some transport minister on Tuesday. Now the bad news, they are rigged with the SPECS speed cameras. SPECS is a camera based system. As you go past a camera software detects and reads your number plate. When you go past the next camera, it detects and reads your number plate again. It knows how far apart the cameras are so it can work out your average speed between the two cameras. The system is fully automatic and will automatically issue a ticket without any form of human intervention. It does this for every single vehicle that passes a camera! You will not know you've been nicked as the cameras don't flash. There's no film in them either, they're digital. Images of you in your car, together with the date and time are stored on disc (I assume they only keep them if you've been nicked). It works 24/7, 365 days a year, and theoretically, there's absolutely no limit on the number of tickets that it can issue. The whole section of the M4 between Theale (J12) and Membury Services (between 14 and 15) is wired, both ways. It is believed that the system is set to trigger a ticket at 78 mph. The bad news gets even worse. For those who've got radar detectors, they won't work. SPECS is entirely passive, there's no radar or laser beam to pick up. Happy Motoring! "" -

as a football and a speedway fan, would much prefer Cardiff, BSI did do a deal to keep it at Cardiff for i think five years.... Wembley Staduim does from what i've seen delivering there, looks like being a very good staduim, just in the wrong location, it what surrounds Cardiff that gives Cardiff the edge: but as a football fan want he F.A .Cup back at Wembley, as football brings more fans to Cardiff than Speedway, it always a bigger nightmere than speedway to get out of the place,.... and i think the Welsh Tourist office also mentioned that one of the reason's they wanted to keep speedway in the city was more of the speedway fans spent the weekend there than football fans, who tended to come into the city for the match and go striaght home again, so although the crowd was smaller for the SGP to football, to the welsh tourist offie speedway was more profitable to the welsh economy...... -
Grand Prix Wrocław
Bill leahy replied to ZKZ Kitten's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
yes , thought it so boring early on switched it off and on to sky plus to watch later, i've never done that before. aslo agree about the points system, great for the rider who has a bad night, just scrpes in to the semi, then makes it to the final,(Adams still called it the A Final) and doubles his points......but it was the first one, lets hope for speedway it gets better, thought Tatum was a bit biased, Pedersen was naughty, but a great move by Rickardson when he done the same thing...but then it's all about opinoins -
Bracknell Bees have 6 Canadian's, 2 Czechs, 1 Slovakian, 1 Welsh and five Englishman, with one of them Being Lee Richardson, not sure if he's related to the other Bracknell Based Lee Richardson.............surely not the same one ! ref the pay rates: a ground floor seat is just £6.50 and it's cheaper up north, even the Balcony is just £9.50, some rinks are sold out each game though ! with 5,000 crowds, when Bracknell won the league they had a ave of 3,000, but with teams in Guildford, Basingstoke, Slough the competition is hot ! the Elite league winners do go into a European competition though, you can't play in any other country, just the one team: and World Championships GB are well done in Group 3 I think !...........but they struggle just like speedway to get any attention, at least speedway is on TV , whether we love them or hate them sky is doing a good job. and some one's being paid well
-
So a second rate ice hockey player who can't make it in Canada or Europe/Scandinavia ends up in Bracknell playing for the Bracknell Bees can get £40,000 for seven months, a car to run around in(ok it has the sponsor plasted all over it) and gets free accommodation while here: and the team pay for the travel off all players to all games: "WHY DO SPEEDWAY RIDERS PUT UP WITH IT" Speedway GP is on TV, ice hockey isn't, how do these figures add up, someone's making a lot of money out of these Gp's and it isn't going to the riders, the ones risking there lives, and I read in this morning's paper that Paula Radcliffe earns £272,000 for a single race, ? does she have to pay her own hotel bill I wonder..........
