  1. Both those are more likely than anything ZR says!
  2. Sadly, the last season at White City produced the most boring season I had witnessed. The lack of action caused by the big scores the Rebels inflicted on the visitors. The second half of the season I tokk to scoring on a separate sheet of paper the scores of Red and Yellow against Blue and White. At least the score was closer even if it did nothing for the big gaps between the riders for most of each race.
  3. According to ZagarRacing's profile she is female!
  4. Pre match discussion on trainers and post match discussion on jackets! Speedway is dealt with on the original thread.
  5. As repetitive as a repeating groove on a record and twice as annoying.
  6. The short lived and VERY NARROW track at Romford was at the old football stadium. I remember enjoying my visits as a young teenager but it may be due to rose tinted spectacles syndrome!
  7. After the meeting can we discuss the important issue of which jacket is best for watching speedway in. I realise that jackets are at a higher level than socks and shoes so the OP maybe confused but we won't let that worry us!
  8. We will talk about what we want to. Stop trying to tell us what to do and while you are about it stop starting duplicate threads or can't you count above one?
  9. If Jon Cook wrote a similar piece in a football programme then he and his club would be in serious trouble with the FA on a charge of bringing the sport into disrepute. The BSPA or the SCB should take action to ensure such repugnant comments are not allowed to appear in a programme again.
  10. If he can see the dust cloud as he approaches Poole then he is late for the start of the meeting!
  11. The problem the clubs have is the large cost of having a meeting postponed after all the riders and staff are present. If a meeting is rained off we have all seen posts wanting to know why they didn't cancel earlier, very often those posts are from people who also object to an early cancellation! On the other hand we have all seen forecasts that show dreadful weather and the club cancel early only for the forecast to be proved totally wrong at which point the posts flow saying they were wrong to cancel so early! Seems the promotions are damned either way!
  12. It is always said that narrow tracks produce poor racing but Romford was probably the narrowest I have seen and always remember it as entertaining racing. Maybe my rose tinted glasses are working for once!
  13. I remember the year they ran the league on a handicap system. Watching Ronnie Moore at Wimbledon off 30 yards was magic! I think it was Briggs, Moore, Craven, Fundin and one other (Knudsen?) who spent the whole season on 30 yards with those on 20 yards, 10 yards and scratch decided each month on the up to date averages.
  14. So the Premiership has Mondays and Thursdays as their fixed race nights but other countries can still take priority on those days! So exactly why do we bother with fixed race nights?
  15. The points limit is Due to change to 40 from 1st July but "in the best interests of the sport" that could be changed, we are talking about speedway here!
  16. If he moves into Rye House I hope his first order will be to get the tanks to flatten the mud pile where the centre green should be.
  17. According to the Sheffield website Leicester are at Sheffield on 9th JUNE and Redcar are there on 7th July.
  18. It is about time that the SCB did some proper track inspections and made sure that the bad tracks are improved. We are dealing with the lives of a families main bread winner. If the Poole (or any other) track is as bad as has been suggested it is not fair to have such dangerous tracks being used.
  19. THE following statement has been issued by Eastbourne Speedway: As supporters and all speedway fans and well-wishers will be aware, Tom suffered a bad accident in heat 12 of the meeting at Eastbourne against Glasgow last Saturday (May 18). Following admittance to Hastings Conquest Hospital on Saturday evening, Tom was assessed and diagnosed with a broken leg in three places to his tibia and fibula. An operation to pin and plate the breaks was planned for Monday. However, on that day, Tom showed signs of breathing difficulties which meant that the planned operation had to be delayed and these symptoms worsened on Tuesday. Following a full consultation with the family, Tom was placed on to a ventilator and an induced coma on Tuesday to both give his lungs chance to recover and to ease his distress. On Wednesday, the specialists were confident that this had worked well enough to allow them to undertake the important operation on Tom’s leg and this has now been completed and the leg pinned and plated. As of this lunchtime (Thursday, May 23) the surgeons are "very happy" with the outcome of that operation. Tom remains on a ventilator and the plan is to bring him round sometime later today so that further assessment can be made. The diagnosis is that the impact of the crash has caused some damage to Tom's lungs that can be fully assessed once he wakes, and now that the vital operation on his broken leg has been successfully completed. The family are very grateful and overwhelmed by all the messages of support at this very difficult time and have apologised for not responding to many of them at this stage. They have also asked that all messages are passed on via the club at this stage and Eastbourne Speedway will of course pass those on for you. The club will only comment when authorised by Tom's family. We send them collectively, individually and on behalf of everyone all our love and support. Eastbourne Fineprint Eagles will be holding a "bucket collection" for Tom at the meeting against Berwick on Saturday and there will be big GET WELL cards for supporters to sign. So as to not inundate the family, if you wish to bring your own Get Well cards for us to pass on, we would be delighted to do so. Tom is very much an integral part of the Eastbourne family and we hope that you will all come along and show your love and support on Saturday, so that we can all collect together to support a very special person and family.
