  1. Shame about the result last night but it is good to see Max Fricke has started so well. Is this the season he really kicks on? It might not be that long until he is riding as our number one now.
  2. Not really by choice. He was the one who lost out most because of the 1 rider over 8 rule.
  3. Perhaps we could pick one of the talent Brits Poole are bringing through!!!
  4. Yep because if you had two riders in your team who had increased their average to 8.00 plus during the season you wouldnt be able to redeclare so that cant be the rule?
  5. The young dane Fredrik Jakobsen looked decent too.
  6. Fingers crossed. He has been doing very well in the few meetings so far this year.
  7. Watched Cook's heats on youtube and he did look to be some way off the pace, just didn't seem to have any speed. Hope he gets it right as it could dent his confidence a bit. I wonder if he has made any significant changes to his bikes over the winter?
  8. How did Dan and Kyle get on in this meeting?
  9. Will they move Worrall to 3 with Starke coming in?
  10. I too am disappointed by Cook's form in the GP's that haven't started yet.
  11. I am not an expert in technique or anything but I was shocked by Kean Dicken in that race on Saturday. I know it takes courage to even get on a speedway bike but he will need to improve a lot. I cant see a track as fast as the NSS suiting him, it was almost like he had no idea how long the straight was.
  12. So that the most rain dependent outdoor sport going can take a nice break in the Summer!!!
  13. Pretty much. I'll be interested to see how Drozdz gets on, sounds like they are confident him and if he really is good enough to be a heat leader he could be a steal at that average.
  14. Snowy yesterday but melting gradually. Slightly about freezing but set to be warmer tomorrow.
  15. Team photo suggests Tungate at 3 and Drozdz at 4. Bewley stays at 6 with Etheridge at 7.
  16. We have done that with Drozdz as well though. At least there is a clear strategy in place though which is good to see.
  17. Anything interesting from the fans forum? Saw that Steve Worrall will take over the captaincy from Cookie this year which is probably a sensible move.
  18. Anyone know when the riders are likely to be announced for the 90th Anniversary meeting?
  19. I think I get what you are saying but you seems to be implying that all riders are equal because they all do the same job. While I like a good national league meeting and understand that it takes courage to race a speedway bike at any level being good at something does makes a difference. Even at NL level there will be riders you enjoy watching more than others. If you're not impressed with the world champion promoting riding in the uk then good for you but for most people sport is about appreciating talent and achievement.
  20. Perhaps not the most naturally talented rider ever but has worked as hard as anyone to get to where he is. Last season proved how tough the bloke is and it will be great to see the world champion riding for a UK club again. Love how honest he is too, refreshing among modern sports. There are young riders who could learn a lot from him for sure.
  21. Anyone else feel that Poole will have binned off one of their two poles before the end of the season?
  22. Man City are the exception. They offer ten pound tickets through the studios union even to cl league ko games and still cant. I think they have a lot of armchair fans. Handy for when leicester come to town though!
