Well I have given up on pushing 6 man teams.... so three a side.... never say never... We had given up on 2 point reserves and regionalisation of leagues and they have both landed in... albeit the regionalisation being used in the championship isn't quite how it was envisaged but it should work and offer savings to clubs. So maybe four man teams and leagues set up on a four team tournament and round robin basis.... Hmm... now there's an idea... wonder if that's been done before... Regards THJ

Honestly I know I can be a tad long winded at times and if I went into this properly chapter and verse it would fill a page and a half however I have a busy day today so the short answer is "No; it cant be done"; (yet) the system is so complicated it borders on total madness... Certain countries carry different status look on the UK-GOV.UK web site and there is everything from Tier 2 to Tier 5 visas and all the implications that these entail. Its not the clubs or the BSPA its the Government that create the rules. Its not as easy as just sponsoring someones application. This is why some riders officially cant ride in both leagues; do individual meetings or in one crazy instance I believe guest. If you think the product is watered down now just wait until Brexit kicks in and if Europeans need to jump through these hoops and obtain visas via a complicated process it may result in these guys saying its just not worth it and not come to the UK whatsoever Visa applications; sponsors licences and the work permit system is an absolute minefield even for someone with a construction business who wanted to employ a Polish bricklaying squad it was an absolute "Bawl Ache" and they were Europeans. The only thing that lets Ully down is his gear and part time mechanic... One thing for sure is Glasgow will make sure his gear is top notch.... they do support there riders... Real crafty signing this I think and Ully will end up flying at Glasgow and I reckon he will put 2 to 3 points on his current average... Shrewd move by the tigers and IMHO Ully will prove to be a real surprise package 2020 you watch... He's still a class act on a bike and well done Glasgow on his capture... Regards THJ

Not just the rider having to finish in a top five placing in the AC but for the employing club who would need to obtain a work permit/licence before a Yank could ride for them... and this licence is even more complicated to obtain than the one required when employing an Aussie. The club would need this licence before they could employ any American... So its a moot point... Without this licence the club won't be employing any Americans... Regards THJ

Now there is a morale to this story and if you read the following I think it explains where and what the issue is? A new Female and Male department store has opened in Newcastle... WOMEN... This department store has opened in Newcastle that sells men and a Woman decides to visit it in search of a husband. At the store’s entrance, there’s a sign outlining the department store policy. The first rule states that you can only enter the store once. There are six floors and on each floor you can choose a husband or elect to move on to the next floor. You cannot visit a floor more than once other than to leave the building. So this Woman visits the first floor. The sign reads: · Men with jobs. She moves on to the second floor: · Men with jobs that adore children. She moves on to the third floor where the sign reads: · Wealthy men that adore children and are very handsome. She thinks to herself, "that's a very good deal" yet moves on to the fourth floor: · Wealthy men that adore children, are very handsome and help with the household chores. She decides to move on as things are constantly improving: · Wealthy men that adore children, are very handsome, help with the household chores and are very romantic. So the Woman is about to make her purchase but can't resist moving on to the sixth floor. There the sign reads: · You are visitor number 31,956,012 on this floor. · There are no men here. · This floor exists as proof that it is impossible to please women. See you just wont have it... you keep asking for not just the improbable but the impossible... By the way the MEN's store is directly opposite… So the other department store opened that sold women. The sign on the first floor reads: · Women that love sex. On the second floor the sign reads: · Women that love sex and are wealthy. On the third floor the sign reads: · Women that love sex, are wealthy and have large breasts. Not a single man has visited the fourth floor. I rest my case Regards THJ

Wow that got a bit of action going like eh.... Honestly I'm guessing too... however look whose left... and I mean rationally look... because of not knowing whether they were running or not Newcastle left it late to secure riders... one slick promoter had his team sorted before the end of September and the longer Newcastle left it the less riders there were to choose from and we also have the disadvantage of being a Sunday track... I hope I am totally wrong however I have put some thought into it and the more riders other clubs declare really starts to narrow down the options on riders available to the Diamonds.. My other guess referring to a Stoke rider is only because Dave Tatum is supporting Rob and for that reason and connection only is why I have suggested Stoke.. Could be a total red herring and fake news but these rumours start somewhere... see below... You can't beat a good conspiracy theory though eh... no coincidence as Adam is a massive Liverpool fan so I am guessing (again) the reference is to the toon draw against city (football)... not that he is joining the Diamonds... But a like the way ya thinking... Come Tuesday and many of the questions will be answered Not long now... Regards THJ

Yes I can... always... Well nearly always... sometimes a do need a few reminders just to help the process along... Starting again on the Saturday at 12 for the football was the hard part... Regards THJ

How many times do you need told... Ully ain't coming back... If you have nowt to do work this lot out and see what it comes too... then I will have an educated guess at the last position... Vissing Lindgren Wethers Clegg Smetana Bukhave and Mr A N Other possibly ex of the potteries... and a penny to a pound of baccie am not far away... an I'm buying the wooden spoon... Regards THJ

Currently you only need a licence for non Europeans... and the Diamonds ain't got one... Come Brexit who knows what paperwork you will need because overnight all them loveable Europeans turn into Johnnie Foreigners... The best laugh will be when tge SNP get their way and Scotland break away from the union an all them become estranged up there and Glasgow an Edinburgh form a league of two... but ya never know if you play ya cards right they might let Berwick go into the Scottish Speedway League just like ya football team... Regards THJ

Okay here is attempt No3 and honing it down a bit and working on the premise of who is left and trying to use up all 41 points... and now I have had me Greggs for me dinner I've come up with this lot... oh and a load of crumbs on me keyboard... NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS AVE -2.50% 1 Claus Vissing 8.43 8.43 2 Max Clegg 5.05 4.93 3 Ondrej Smetana 5.00 5.00 4 Matthew Wethers 6.92 6.92 5 Nico Covatti 7.82 7.82 6 Jacob Bukhave 4.00 4.00 7 James Sarjeant 4.00 3.90 Total: 41.22 41.00 I really would like to see Covatti at Brough but that might not happen for reasons beyond our control and I only stuck Sarj in as he fitted beautifully to take the team to 41 points and again because I haven't heard him mentioned anywhere, Other names I juggled with were Todd Kurtz 5.43 Alfie Bowtell 3.10* Tom Perry 3.47* Jurica Pavlic 8.18 Rene Bach 7.19 Bradley Wilson Dean 8.75 Joel Andersson 5.62 Victor Palovaara 6.25 Hans Andersen 9.26. Just to add that as far as I am aware Newcastle don't currently have the required licences to employ Aussies or Kiwis and Pavlic and Bach will potentially be in Poland plus Hans may not fancy it and finally the * comes with a 2.5% reduction. Its a real struggle to come up with names of riders when there aren't many left out there unless the club can pull a rabbit out of the hat and bring in a big surprise name... here's hoping and Good Luck to the up and coming Rob Grant Dynasty. Starting off on the back foot a little this year but if he can build on what is there; going forward I honestly believe the club is now in safe hands... Good luck bonny lad... Regards THJ
-
Like it and never say never but I think Bjarne's Polish commitments might put pay to that... Oh and apart from the No7 who I would only have back if he was working in the track shop... sorry but it's time the kid seen the light... I know you need to be made of the right stuff to be a Speedway rider well Danny is made of the wrong stuff... not just the wrong stuff but the wrong stuff in all the wrong places... Regards THJ

A love the confidence... Matty Max and maybe Jacob if the numbers fit. But Ully Starke and Heeps have signed elsewhere and you're right you have no idea... Regards THJ
