Honestly This is why people should get their facts right, and how Chinese whispers just escalate things out of hand.. they got him his own Robinson R44 Helicopter to ship him up from Cleator Moor International Airport to the Helipad on the Govan with a Limo Ride to Ashfield over the last 8 miles or twenty minutes or so of the journey, that was the deal breaker... Out on the tiles again tonight having a nice Tapas but I am now getting things thrown at me for being on here and being anti social. I hear what you are saying Gaz and you are not wrong I will catch up later and put the whole thing to bed hopefully.... and there is certainly no Anti Glasgow sentiment from me I want all clubs to survive and prosper it just needs to be done right and I am a bit old fashioned in that respect.... On a totally different note and sorry to change tack I have just found out Adam Roynon and his better half are having a little girl 16th May... so good luck to them and to his little lad Seb... An that al be Roynon for the snip... haha... av got two bricks if required... Regards THJ -

Okay Dickie I will answer this more fully when I am back at my desk Monday/Tuesday as you are talking complete and utter "crepe" and like someone once said "in a few good men" "you cant handle the truth" I will post the tripe I received over a number of texts if you want openness and honestly that isn't a problem. On contract law I can give you chapter and verse and if someone had a British bank account they could then invoice. Writing what you think you are due in a phone then sending a text doesn't constitute an invoice you clown so keep pushing and you will get the truth in spades.... Honestly Regards THJ -
Lakeside and the BSPA
TotallyHonestJohn replied to Rayleigh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It cost Workington just over £7000 to try and stage their league meeting with Lakeside, The pulled meeting that never happened but should have; cancelled by the BSPA with the fixture fiasco on a warm sunny summer Friday night, The meeting where Dan Bewley got injured which was abandoned after heat 3; the double header where it binned it down an hour before the meeting that got that one rained off; then the frozen track on the last night of the season abandoned after heat 4. Cash they could ill afford to lose to be fair. Regards THJ -
Ty Proctor 6.96? As your man hasn't taken off your 2.5% reduction for Danny King that gives an additional 0.22 I reckon and I think his figure for Kyle is a bit high too by 0.10 but will stand corrected if I have my numbers wrong Regards THJ 1 Danny King 8.90 8.68 2 Kyle Howarth 7.02 6.85 3 Ty Proctor 6.96 6.96 4 Kasper Andersen 5.20 5.20 5 Broc Nichol 4.00 4.00 6 Zaine Kennedy 4.00 4.00 7 Drew Kemp 2.00 2.00 Total: 38.08 37.69 Remaining: 0.31 Going off what has been posted above how does that grab you, looks a potent team to me if it comes up trumps?

So now Workington have their new No.1 in place (TiC) I wonder who the next signing will be? You know building to a sensible budget and all that, cutting costs and saving money? My guess is its Johnny McPrudence and his wife will be with him Prudence McPrudence Regards THJ -

Honestly I think if I was to produce the actual pay slips you wouldn't believe it and having been a sponsor for many years now of various riders (even some at Glasgow) you get to find out what is actually going on, but at the end of the day we are where we are and once the dust settles nothing will come of it, however the hypocrisy is overwhelming and if the roles were reversed there would be just as big an outcry of foul play from the other side without a shadow of doubt. However as sated earlier I do genuinely hope Glasgow win something this year for all they have done to improve facilities and all they have spent (not just on riders) to improve and develop the sport in the area they deserve some reward for their effort. Good Luck in 2019. Regard THJ -

Fair enough if that's the case I accept that, but Glasgow had a go at him long before Worky got anywhere near and as he was one of the few riders or last one possibly with a high enough average to to fit.. Worky would have probably had no other option but to accept his terms, (or take a 3/4 point rider on) but it was touch and go that they got him. However you did state in your post "we could not agree a deal with Bach last year but you did funny that" and negotiating terms is a two way thing and you imply that Worky out-bid Glasgow or somehow met Bach's terms in deference to Glasgow... Glasgow spoke to Rene before the Christmas!!! Worky were still scratching around late February early March trying to find a 7th team member who ended up being Rene... Hey I don't know the Glasgow promotion so how can I dislike them, I have heard nothing but good about them as people and honestly I don't dislike anyone until they start P1$$ing down my leg and then try to tell me its raining. then I get upset and usually make a "twonk" of myself; however what I don't like is their "modus operandi" and I can have an opinion on that so please respect that just like I respect your incessant (incandescent) defence of something I find fundamentally wrong however that is your opinion and I would fight for the right for you to have that opinion even if I do not agree with it. So as I am telling someone who purports not to care why do you keep responding, why dignify my posts with a response if you don't care!!! Will I tell you why? because you are passionate about your club and you are trying to defend something that you probably (deep down) think is wrong (and certainly wouldn't like it done to you) however because of your loyalty to you club you bite back... That's okay but if you don't like the truth stick me on the naughty step and block my posts or ignore or whatever the thing is I will not be offended. But if you do opt for that don't tell me as I will take the "Mickey" and with me on stop you wont see what I am saying and that will eat at you even more, wow I am going round in circles now, need more drink. Keep a hold on reality, enjoy your speedway be passionate about your club and I do (Honestly) hope this year Glasgow actually win something to get this "monkey off their backs" as spending all this money and still with an empty trophy cabinet; well its getting embarrassing. You couldn't even win the Scottish Cup this year and you were seeded straight into the final ffs... come on a mean... Actually here is a good idea all the other clubs should chip in and buy Glasgow a Silver Salver and a couple of Cups then they might give up on this incessant (obsessive) chase for silverware and get back to playing the game properly. 2019 team building averages
TotallyHonestJohn replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Go to the BSPA web site and the 2nd box from the bottom on the Championship drop down box entitled Championship Averages and the top set of figures are the rolling averages for the year, GSA are the ones you need and they "should be" pretty accurate if not spot on (Famous last words) http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/championshipstatistics18 This made me laugh... nice one cheers... (just goes to show many a true word spoken in jest) Regards THJ -

Bach is an asset of Worky and he was the last rider signed, total panic buy comes to mind and the club were held over a barrel, also he had been spoilt the previous year with what Glasgow gave him (yep, sad but true) , it was Rene Bach back or run with a 3 or 4 pointer and believe me people do not realise how close that nearly came to happening as Rene said didn't want to race in the UK. Worky started just over half a point under the build limit at the start of last year with 3 riders who all thought they were Number 1's Rene having the highest average of them all at 7.53 not exactly what you would call a high average for someone who isn't perceived as an out and out No 1 but due to the lateness of Worky declaring to run this meant most riders had their deals sorted, so they got what they could and of course supply and demand came into play, also Rene knocked Glasgow back well before Worky approached him so you are being a bit disingenuous there as he didn't want to ride in this country last year due to work commitments but hey don't let the truth get in the way of trying to explain your promotions actions Regards THJ -

TotallyHonestJohn replied to TotallyHonestJohn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well I have explained this on another thread however TayorJ is half right when she said no one and not even the Workington promotion at the start of the season gave the team a chance, however what they did is now H18tory, and you are right "a very expensive part of the clubs H18tory" however it was never intentional (honest) and once the greased pig started to run no one could catch it. (injury free most of the season, carried a bit of luck when required, it all added up to a fantastic year) So to sum it up the team was built to keep costs low (and late in the pre-season as Worky waited a while before they declared to run) however no one expected it to grow into the monster it did and its always nice to "splurge" now and then and once you get carried on the tidal wave of euphoria and success the cost becomes immaterial (it shouldn't but it did). However this years team will be built on a strict budget (I hope) and anything near last years achievement will be a huge task for the team, but hey ho lets see where we get with it all. Predicted Wooden Spoonists last year and won everything, so who knows anything Regards THJ -
Honestly I think Rob has pulled off a masterclass and done a good job... the majority of these guys know each other... Rob is getting the track right as to how the riders like it... EWR will be a fortress and with a few away points in the bag I believe Scunny will be knocking on the play off door next year... Lets see what happens Regards THJ

Mac you are spot on and I cant disagree with any of what you say however being in high profile businesses for the last 30 years (most of them were on hills - lol - get it... high profile, never mind I thought it was funny) being in business for many years I have never operated in such a divisive environment and with such a ramshackle way of operating and it is probably borne out in my own frustrations that I am venting my spleen. How the hell the likes of George English, Tony Jackson, John Campbell Alex Harkness Stewart Dickson and all these guys who have been around for years put up with the "crepe" what goes on is starting to astound me and it is a real eye opener that's for sure. So its time to head off for a few bottles of the old "Newckie Brown Ale" to settle the frayed nerves (probably a dozen or so and the worlds largest kebab at the end of the night) Regards THJ -

Don't disagree with that at all although I am not sure about Stoney with Kieth, however on the 38 point limit... many are stating it is watering down the product, but the statement that all those top riders would get squeezed out of the championship haven't come to fruition have they, we are still getting all the same guys in the league and the pressure will be on a couple of 2/3 point reserves to perform out of their skin to take the club on to glory, which I find difficult to reconcile. Finally what I find is galling is the total disregard for any rules or procedures, (and as far as I am aware Denham always played by the rules) its the first thing most on here scream about if they think there has been any twisting of the regulations and it is total hypocrisy. I have had my moan and will get on with it however I do not think we have heard the last of this in the slightest, but its goodnight from him and its goodnight from me. Regards THJ -

First point... Wrong... Most documents and contracts do NOT require a witness for them to be legally valid unless it is something like a will. It is also important to be aware that when agreeing to a written contract, it does not need to be signed by both parties to be legally binding. ... I could provide numerous legal case studies that show even if a contract says it has to be signed to be binding, if it remains unsigned it can still have a legally binding effect. I worked for a construction company who were sued by a prospective employee who accepted a job on a hand shake. The offer was start on a Monday the pay is xxx the holidays are yyy and the benefits are zzz, all given verbally however the job position was frozen so the guy was stood down, he then sued on the terms he had been offered as a contract that was withdrawn, so you are wrong on that score. Second point.. correct and every rider I have spoken to has been owed monies, (everyone) it seems standard practice in speedway however the BSPA get involved if payments are withheld for unduly long periods and there has been no query on this score to date. Although again all my company contracts state a pay date so if there is a date or no date in the contract that is something to negotiate is it not. I have clients who pay me on 30, 60 90 and one on 120 day terms which is six month and then we only get it if the paperwork is spot on and are riders employees or individual companies working as a sub-contractor who can self bill, so what is the actual point you are trying to make here, are some people getting paid before they have done a job because if that's the case get me signed up for some of that Regards THJ -

You wouldn't think I studied to be a maths teacher originally would you!!! how embarrassing Doh!!! ave got me self punch drunk; however the rider I lost was just over 6.5 and the one I had to let down and release after doing a deal was just over 6, however it has created havoc with what we were trying to achieve.
