  1. Thank you for your response Brian, great to hear from someone who is more knowledgeable on these matters than from those who are so dismissive & yet know little about the facts.
  2. Radio Caroline was a Pirate radio station so no wonder we play Sweet Caroline!
  3. You say no chance but then you say other events apart from athletics? Also the stadia, where temporary tracks are laid for GP's, are owned by other organisations outside of speedway so on the face of it I don't any difference with the Alexander Stadium. So while u may be correct in saying no chance ur points don't appear to back that up I think the British GP would be better attended in a more central location like Birmingham & Bradford than being out in Cardiff. Whilst it's a fantastic stadium with a roof the GP would be better served in a smaller & better located stadium so it fills to capacity. I went to Bradford '85 & that easily beats Cardiff.
  4. Reasonable weather in November last year when we Pirates wrapped up the Championship
  5. I'm watching the Commonwealth Games and doesn't the Alexander Stadium look very impressive especially with it being full approx 30,000. Now am i getting fanciful ideas but to me that stadium would be perfect as an option for a proposed second British Grand Prix and they could hold the SGP2 just round the corner at Birmingham speedway. Even after taking out the temporary stands out on the corners the capacity is stil 18,000 which may be more suitable for a speedway size crowd. Won't hold me breath tho.
  6. As I'm Veg I will ask my partner in business Fruit to see if we can supply some 'Fresh Pears!'
  7. Update, I'm taking 10 pens with to share with the only other person who will be attending.. One Pirate & One Lion
  8. Meetings can be rearranged. Maybe the Bates family just thought there was zero chance of them qualifying for anything! Anyways, us Pirates will end the Lions hopes in the KO Cup so don't panic, don't panic!
  9. Ben, Zach & Danny are CooKing on Gas!
  10. Certainly an attitude. Was there a thank you? Could've said something like thank you for your help but would still like to know from a local. Just took a complete negative by not wanting help from someone way down south............even though I'm not! Wrong attitude & wrong assumption.
  11. Met Office provide the most reliable weather forecast. BBC are the worst......e.g Michael Fish Hope that is of help?? Before someone pulls the trigger!
  12. Excuse me!! Whilst I have no qualms about you asking someone who lives local there is no need for that attitude. Click on the link I sent you! IT SHOWS NO RAIN! Don't need to be a local to be able to read a Met Office report. In fact you don't even need to read as there are simple symbols to understand. And for your information I live in Derbyshire not Poole. Some folk, it's like someone asking you to help them cross the road then they shoot you in the head!
  13. Met office shows not a drop of rain for Redcar. Sun & cloud 16C Redcar (Redcar and Cleveland) weather - Met Office
  14. C'mon the Bears do the bizzo over Scunny especially with Pirate Danny guesting for you tonight. Although I'm not a Lion me local speedway mates are all Lions so a win by more than 6pts over the Scorpions will be most welcome for them. Cheers in advance
  15. Apart from Batch:s heat win it seemed like he cudn't control the bike. Dunno if the bike was misfiring or something. He was all over the place. He was certainly 'outback'! It's the way I tell em
  16. Some background information on Neil Diamond's tune Sweet Caroline please click on the link below . It was actually released in my year of birth & I also share Mr Diamond's first name........now would I go so far as to say I'm a Diamond?.....hell why not?! .....I'm a diamond geezer! https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/sweet-caroline-lyrics-neil-diamond-meaning-football-b2137855.html
  17. Everyone at Poole , management, officials, riders & fans, have always made me feel extremely welcome despite living 192miles away and never having lived in the area.
  18. Great news to hear that Birmingham are continuing next season. No more walking under ladders or black cat's crossing ur path.
  19. I saw a cross dresser on the second bend at WINborne Road last night. Wearing a Pirate shirt & holding a Cheetahs jacket u'd think he should've realized before the meeting started that it was No Jacket Required!
