  1. If we gate better than we did up at Berwick we may just hold our own, if not then we are screwed. I think over two legs Worky will be too strong for us but looking forward to both matches.
  2. What yard stick were you using to base this assessment on, any rider practising can look a world beater, put him in a competitive situation with another 3 going for it at the same time and then we find out what he is made of. I once thought Anthony Barlow and Neil Evitts looked impressive around Brough on practice day, that's all I'll say on that topic. I hope your team does well but I think that statement may bite you on the arse or worse still someone may beat you with the yard stick you were using!!!
  3. I am right in my understanding that the practice sessions this year are 22nd March and 23rd March, with the 23rd having representatives from all northern clubs again??
  4. Does anyone know why Newcastle Speedway don't advertise in the NE1 magazine. All of the local sporting teams seem to have a mention under the sport section of the listings in the back of the magazine except the speedway. Looks like an opportunity missed in my eyes?? I think you can just email them @ listings@ne1magazine.co.uk, might be worth a punt what with the start of the season fast approaching and the magazine for March due out soon I believe.
  5. English said: "We are delighted to have Lewis Kerr on board, he made rapid strides last year and he just needs to continue that this year. It is an important season for him under the team Revolution banner and although he won’t start the season at number one, it will be his aim to finish there." I have just looked at the final averages on BSPA and they are as follows: L Kerr - 7.54 S Worrall - 7.46 L Lindgren - 7.12 C Henry - 6.69 A Rosen - 6.61 So by my reckoning it should be Lewis Kerr, I am not sure if the final averages have Bonus Points on them and whether these need to be factored in which may alter the above averages and therefore make S Worrall our No. 1??? Answers on a postcard to: WHOISTHEDIAMONDSNO1FOR2015 c/o Newcastle Speedway Newcastle Stadium Somewhere up north etc
  6. Does this rule have any bearing on our team as we have 3 Brits, 2 Swedes, 1 Dane and 1 Aussie who has an English wife??
  7. How's that? His brother has one 1 world title and may never win another and his other brother don't get me started. Just because everyone says he's great does not mean he is. Also as his brother with some ability thinks our track is c$$p unlikely he would tell him to come to us. So it's a No from moi. How's that? 8. Hmm looks very very similar to the team I suggested earlier, copy cat!!!😃😃
  9. Based on this comment and the fact that I think George said any of the previous 7 were in with a shout of a team place: "I have been told any one of the five main body riders we are going to have could be the number one so it should be a strong team.” Lewis Kerr 7.54 Ludvig Lindgren 7.12 (the people champ or The White Knights anyway!!!) Lewis Rose 4.15 Nathan Greaves 3.00 (as could not fit Simon Nielsen in) Christian Henry 6.24 (not sure if he has retired) Steve Worrall 7.46 Anton Rosen 6.69 Total 42.20 Do we think the team will look similar to this??
  10. Yes its: Lewis Kerr Lewis Rose A N Other A N Other A N Other A N Other and our hot Danish prospect A N Andre Team to beat I believe, loads of potential on paper and if A N Other lives up to expectations I believe he will average in excess of 10.50. :D
  11. Or Nicki Pedersen and we are awaiting to see if the surgery on his shoulder has been a success!!!
  12. I think he was better in 1982 and 1983, amazing. Also one of my favourite riders, great to watch and entertaining, not in the same league as Joe Owen but still an outstanding rider of his era and one of the best riders seen at Brough over the years. 13. Now that would be a turnip for the books!!!
  14. Any chance of a clue, we could play speedway hangman. :D ----n ----n -----g ---g---
  15. I'm not panicking, just be nice to know that's all. I think if they announced it sooner, may have increased season ticket sales, always make good Chrimbo presents. Cheers Tsunami. I can never make it anyway as it always clashes with my office party. Will have to keep checking websites, twitter, facebook etc.
  16. No Robert Lambert I see, destination Peterborough Panthers. I was hoping he would hook up with his pal The Kerrminator. I wonder when they will make further announcements, possibly the Diamonds Christmas Party?
  17. I wonder if they will be joined by Lambert on Tyneside
  18. THE KERRMINATOR IS BACK http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100351 Great news and great signing, 1 of many I hope
  19. I believe he was supposed to ride for us against the Monarchs at the end of the season and George had booked him well in advance only for Mr Worrall to go to the final GP of the year instead, on the I believe were some peoples words.
  20. One thing is for sure we won't have Rene Bach back with us anytime soon as he has penned a deal with Workington. I was hoping one day he would return back to the Diamonds but was unaware that the Comets have bought him outright, bit of shame. Don't know what others peoples thoughts are on Bach returning, mute point I know but... With regard to the rest of the team, I am glad Rose is on board as I thought he was brilliant last year especially when he had to ride at the number two spot for most of it, not an easy number to race at. I would like to see Robbo, Ludvig and Kerr back and if the Monarchs have to offload a rider maybe Masters as we have no chance of getting Cookie. I thought Greaves was impressive at Brough last year and it would be a toss up between him and Nielsen for the final reserve spot, with Greaves just shading it (for me). I would like to see Rosen back but the 2013 version not the 2014 version as I thought he was not himself this year and never really got into the groove this year. I think Ostergaard may be worth a look or Wells as they both go well around Brough and think it would be great to have Richie 'The St Helens Super Hero' Worrall back but unlikely after what happened at the end of the season. I appreciate that I have probably just named about 10 riders in that paragraph but hopefully just food for thought. Hopefully 2015 will be a better season on track.
