  1. Fence should overlap rather than be end to end, then if a rider does come off there is give rather than a fence post being held upright by many panels behind. Andersen, Loram, Mills, Manzares, Roynon all broken bones there and im sure there are many more.....
  2. King rode at Somerset last year and scored 13 from 5. And yes rr for Manzares does make the Witches stronger. Especially with the form of Nielsen and Covatti. Hawkins and Heeps are key.
  3. Hes at 4 tonight so riding with Holder...has outside gates first then will have gate 1 in either heat 10 vs King or heat 14 vs Heeps.
  4. Mine haven't.... But if you don't want to pay directly to Sky i'm sure there are other ways to watch it......
  5. So that's King, Tungate, Manzares and Heeps every week then... unless One of the other 3 have a great meeting! (Wink)
  6. Ipswich want £1000 per air fence panel.... hence why theres not many with adverts on!
  7. sopcast working for me too. Yeah looked a nasty one, don't know how he walked away tbh, with just what looks like a battered nose!
  8. Imagine that the current track at Foxhall used the home straight on the shale then used the back straight of the stock car track. that would be like Somerset.....
  9. Comparing Somerset to Ipswich, The tracks are the same width, if the home straights are overlaid then the back straight of Somerset would be the stock car track at Ipswich.... makes sense?
  10. Basically yes! Watching Tungate tonight and on monday was like night and day! Thats the thing, you see riders on some tracks and just think how do they have that average?! Just seems that Somerset struggle with Ipswich and the Witches have the same problem with Oak Tree.
  11. King - Still unbeaten at Foxhall, never troubled, a real number 1 at last! Hawkins - Looked ok until Josh G soun in front of him and took another clout. Manzares - Dodgy last heat, reared up and Covatti unable to avoid him. Hope he is ok Heeps - Subdued night for Cam. still only dropped 2 points though! Tungate - Fired up after being taken off in 1st heat, that did the trick as was superb after that, even proper pass to boot! Nielsen - Bike probs sorted and good choice of lines. Looked up for it and few passes. Covatti - Let down by bike in 1 heat but getting better. Grajczonek - Spun off in 1st heat, Didn't look too comfortable with track Wright - Scored both points when only 3 finishers. Superb to lay down bike in 1st heat, If only more riders knew to do this.... Kurtz - Doesn't get on with Foxhall, struggled with track, seemed to be sitting too far forward as bike kept spinning up Lanham - Another night to forget at Foxhall Worrall - Determined in 1st heat, but another who didn't look happy on track. Starke - Will be happy with paid 5 as didn't seem happy either Compton - Gifted point in 2nd heat but another who struggled don't worry we will return the favour in the return leg!
  12. Crazy that heat 13 went ahead! From 2nd bend/back straight couldnt see the 4 riders at the start, saw 4 riders go down back straight into 3rd bend but then nothing until 3 riders appeared out of 2nd bend! Tungate was missing, but no decesion made on to what happened...... then match called off!
  13. Hearing that Rohan Tungate is in the Aussie squad.....
  14. The way read it, I think Baldyman was being nice to Tungate....visa issues causing him some concern but now thats over he can give it his best after a track that he didn't fancy.
  15. Which may be lost as: 1- Rather spend "their" £4 on something else 2- Dad may not be able to afford the £24 entry he now has to pay for "his" entry This then may have a knock on effect as you then only attend 2 out of 3 meetings ( 3@ £16 or 2@ £24) 3 -Thats if they don't find something else to do until they are able to go in July.... Plus don't forget that the meetings seem to drag on which is not great on school nights and not great when cold. And all because the promoters would rather get £4 here and there rather than look at the big picture! Especially for Mr Baldyman fro todays Ipswich star: Rohan Tungate has told Ipswich Witches fans not to be worried over his early-season form. The Kurri-Kurri-born rider has yet to get going in 2015 and was one of a number of riders who endured a tough night at Peterborough on Monday. But he’s confident things are about to come good, as the Witches entertain Somerset Rebels in the League Cup on Thursday night at Foxhall. “There are no worries,” said Tungate, pictured above. “My visa arrived on Tuesday which is good news and I’ll admit that has been a bit stressful knowing when it will come through. “I didn’t get on well at Peterborough but the track really wasn’t to my liking. “It’s early days in the season and fans must not be concerned. I’ll be ok.” Tungate is expected to ride for Australia in a Best Pairs event in Germany at the weekend, with Chris Holder and Dakota North. “If that happens it will be good,” he said. “It’s nice to be involved in those type of meetings.” Back at Foxhall tonight and two former Witches will look to put a spoke in the wheels of the Suffolk side. Leigh Lanham and Richie Worrall both now ride for Somerset and have made good starts to the season – especially Lanham. The Rebels have already won a League Cup away clash – at Peterborough – and have picked up a point at Plymouth. However, their record at Foxhall last season was shocking – although they have made several changes to their team line-up from 2014. Josh Grajczonek leads the Rebels this year and is backed up by exciting Aussie star Brady Kurtz. Teams Witches: D King, R Hawkins, G Manzares, C Heeps, R Tungate, S Nielsen, N Covatti. Rebels: J Grajczonek, C Wright, R Worrall, L Lanham, B Kurtz, P Starke, B Morley. Mike’s prediction: Witches 48 Rebels 42 League Cup Group South – only winner definitely qualifies for semi-finals Rye House 4 10 Somerset 4 7 Peterborough 5 6 Ipswich 3 4 Plymouth 2 3 These lineups are different to the "expected lineups" on ipswichwitches.co
  16. Only summer hols! Good thing about going to Peteborough on monday was the price for an adult and child! only £15 compared to £20 at Foxhall. That extra £4 does make a different to the fans, and charging for kids is a short sighted by all promotions! Ipswich and Workington being the 2 clubs at PL level charging the most at £4. In fact only Poole i the EL charge the same! crazy!
  17. Also saw this. The good thing is he managed to complete all 4 heats and no apparent bike problems.
  18. hold on i'll type it out........ Witches team boss Phil Hilton is hoping Monday night's heavy defeat at Peterborough was a "wake-up call" to his young side. The Foxhall Heath outfit were thrashed 56-37 at the East of England Showground, with only Danny King (16pts) making a decent contribution ~ Cameron Heeps was the only other heat winner for the Witches. And while Hilton is not pushing any panic buttons yet, he wants his team to take a good look at themselves. 'Yes. Peterborough are a good side and they had a track well prepared and heavy, how they like it." Hilton said. It is what their riders' requested after two home defeats and it caught us out. But there are no excuses. I can't fault the efforts - that is not in doubt - but I would like to see more of a professional approach from some of them with their bike set-ups and their mind-set. "We shouldn't be going to any track in the country with the team we have and not get 40 points. "I hope it's a wake-up call for a few of them." The Witches were outgated and outfought on the big Alwalton bowl against a home side clearly fired-up for the contest. Peterborough had lost their previous two home League Cup encounters to Rye House and Somerset but in a tight League Cup South group, they have put themselves back in the frame with wins against the Witches and Rye House on Monday "Our League Cup group is up for grabs," Hilton added. "We have Somerset on Thursday at Foxhall and we have to win that and then pick up points at Plymouth and Somerset next week. "We can do that, the team is talented enough." One rider who escaped any criticism from Hilton - and the many Witches fans who travelled to the Showground on Monday - was King. 'Danny has come into the side and been the consumate professional," Hilton added. "His equipment is always spot on, his mind-set is strong. He's the best No. 1 this club has had for many years." there ya go..... you're welcome
  19. mine was tongue in cheek but as on phone with a rubbish signal can only do text! Can make stats prove or disprove anything.... 42 wins comes from hone and away fixtures.
  20. Does have a total of 42 from his 94 heats that make up his current rolling ave though.....
  21. This year he has had 8 races away from Foxhall. ..... 1 win! Covatti has 2! This year he has had 8 races away from Foxhall. ..... 1 win! Covatti has 2!
  22. Make or break for the Witches.... let's see the response after a poor away performance and tbh Good Friday wasn't too good either... Wonder what this is about : @Mike_Bacon: Interesting thoughts from @ipswichspeedway manager Phil Hilton in tomorrow's @ipswichstar24 newspaper @speedwaystarmag
