DC2 is correct. He's pointed you to the Green Sheet Averages via a link. It can clearly be seen by following the link that Adam Ellis's final GSA was 8.00 For some reason best known to yourself you seem to be reading the page that says (In massive red writing) PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL GREEN SHEET AVERAGES. THE OFFICIAL AVERAGES CAN BE FOUND VIA THE TEAM DECLARATIONS AND GREEN SHEET AVERAGES LINKS FOR THE RESPECTIVE LEAGUES. THESE FIGURES SHOULD BE REGARDED AS REFERENCE ONLY. -

Who's the No.7 then? -
It was Martin Lampkin and his brother Arthur. Think there was another brother too, but I don't remember any Dave Lampkin. Of course Martin's son Dougie Lampkin later went on to become more famous than all of them.

Thought you weren't allowed to ride in the PL now until you'd achieved a CL average which converts to a PL 3.00 or more? -

Not read a word of my posting above have you? There is NO profit and loss account filed at Companies House. As a micro company they don't have to file one, and they haven't. All that is filed is an abbreviated balance sheet which gives minimal information, and certainly doesn't show profit or loss. -

a) It's called a "website". b) There's nothing filed at Companies House to show what profit or loss they have made. (and certainly not your made up half a million loss). As a small company (micro-entity), they are only obliged to file micro company accounts. This means no profit and loss account has to be filed, no statement of source and application of funds has to be filed, and only the briefest of 3 line abbreviated balance sheets has to be filed. And indeed, this brief balance sheet is all they have filed. There's no P&L account to look at. All you can do with the modified balance sheet info is take one figure away from the other to show a difference of approx £152k. If nothing else has changed during the year you could assume they had made a loss of £152k. But you haven't got any information on anything else, so making that assumption would be silly. For all you know they could have lost £10,152,000 but pumped 10 million into the company. Equally they could have made £9,848,000 profit, but taken £10M out in dividends.... they could have taken out mortgages, paid off mortgages, bought a share of the stadium, bought riders, sold riders, made clever accounting adjustments for tax reasons.... a million possibilities. You're unlikely to see any speedway club ever reach the level of turnover needed for them to be compelled to file a Profit & Loss account. Until then, keep guessing and making crap up. -

He lives in St. Helens, near Manchester. -
Why? What have you heard? These guys have spent a lot of money on doing up the car park, they're running speedway open practice sessions, and I'd heard that they'd be quite amenable to the idea of bringing speedway back. Are you saying they're not interested in speedway? They're hardly likely to want to sell so soon, especially after investing in improvements to the car park.

Unless things have changed, day one is usually attended by 2019 teams and involves going over the 2019 season, clearing up any matters outstanding and agreeing the share-out of any shared events. Poole would attend as a PL team and Kent and Plymouth would not be included. Day two (today) would normally involve business for 2020 and voting in any new teams.

From a £17 admission, £2.83 goes to the VAT man. £14.17 is the club's share.

Belle Vue, Isle of Wight and Mildenhall would seem to be definites. Not sure about Kent. The CVS rumours of moving up to Premiership turned out to be BS, but the Championship option seems a lot more viable. Could Kent get enough dates in their planning permission to run a full season of both Championship & NL? I'm not sure. Plymouth are supposedly looking at Championship, but I can see them staying NL. I don't see Championship being financially viable for them, and they'd have to be voted into the Championship. Would the likes of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Berwick, Newcastle, Redcar, Scunthorpe want such a southern outpost voted into their league? Leicester sound unlikely to stay in the NL. But what a terrible situation where the reigning league champions and cup winners don't compete the following season. What was the point in developing the Thompson twins just to crap on them the following year? Shameful if Leicester pull out, but I think they will. Cradley also sounds unlikely. Patchett is going (some would say no big loss to the sport) and Pearson is busy making money selling his cloned programmes where you can read the exact same programme column at opposite ends of the country in any week. But surely there's enough support to keep Cradley going? Is there a businessman fan or two who could join CVS and Will Pottinger to keep them going? Is the time right for Buxton to return? Sunday afternoons are free now that Sheffield are moving up. And with Stoke closing, surely there are some extra fans to be picked up? Speedway needs Buxton. It shouldn't be stood idle, and the BSPA should be moving heaven and earth to reopen it. Rye House is another possible. The new owners are tarting the place up and surely they need it to be used? Again the BSPA should be making overtures to them to get involved.

Where has my thread gone?
PotteringAround replied to Baldyman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Think you'll find it wasn't your thread. The thread will have been started by someone who has previous form for starting threads, waiting until people have posted a good few pages of replies, and then hiding the thread. A bit of a Dick-ish thing to do, but he does it quite often. -
Like you say, that's not the same comparison. A similar comparison would be the person never going to Manchester United games, saying they don't like football, but religiously calling the 5-Live phone-in every week to say they haven't been to the game, and think Manchester United are rubbish. That would, to quote Pinny, be borderline insane.

What if it's a 2-pint glass? To be fair, this Moxey troll does come across as rather odd to say the least. i don't like "Love Island" and "Made in Essex" and whatever other halfwit TV rubbish exists, but I don't go on the internet reading all about them and then constantly spamming TV forums saying they're rubbish. To do that, as this Moxey character does, would indeed be displaying "borderline insane" behaviour as Pinny says.

I have Facebook, but I can't see this alleged posting of Kent's proposals for the 2020 season on the club's facebook page. The last posting was at 22:20 on Monday night and was just the scorers from the play-off final. Nothing new on the official website either. And nothing on the official twitter feed @kent_kings All I can see is an unofficial twitter account saying " BREAKING NEWS!!!! Len Silver has announced that The King's have applied to ride in the Championship next season with a WEDNESDAY racenite!! (sic) " A link to the alleged official posting would be good...

I've also heard rumours that the new stadium owners are interested in bringing back speedway at NL level. Hadn't heard who they were thinking of putting in as promoters, but Pete Sampson and Martin Hagon could make sense.

With the Glasgow v Leicester Championship Play-off final postponed tonight, what's the chances that it will be re-arranged for Sunday? And if so, what does that mean for the NLRC in respect of Ellis Perks, Joe Lawlor and Kyle Bickley? -

Apart from very, very basic editing, I have no idea how Wikipedia works. Maybe Norbold is more clued up?
-
Seeme to be one person calling himself "michig" on Wikipedia who keeps deleting stuff every time someone adds the news of Split Waterman's death. I see Norbold and others have updated the news several times. Each time it's the same idiot who undoes it.
