  1. I am that 'some' so thats why after 1 year of staying in Cardiff, I didnt wanna waste anymore of my hard earned money on accomodation, when it can be spent at the event on other stuff. It is the same for me Sandie, I meet up with alot of British Sliders at the POW, who i'd regulary during the year game against. Good for you, to some it isnt an option I guess to travel away from the city centre, even if it saves them money. LOL true Shadds, but I spent alot of my drinking after i'd arrived back in Swansea. I had plenty of drinks on the Friday night last year, even got to get friendly with the locals hehe. I dunno, to me it isnt disrespectful, though I maybe naive for my age as ive not got any reason to tie myself down to a certain location as I usually travel alone to Cardiff. I didnt see the Stars once at home last season, as after the 2008 season I went to 3 home meetings, 2 which were a borefest and only the Edinburgh P/Off meeting being of excitement. I only saw the Stars away at Rye in both meetings between the two in 2009. To you it might not be Wayne, to me I can get that standard of accomodation at around £50 for 2 nights, half the price. I look for a bargain were ever I can find it. Especially for a weekend when im gonna spend alot at various stages.
  2. I still cant believe people are mugs to even think of staying in Cardiff, when there are plenty of cheap accomodation alternatives about a 1hr away at most via train from the stadium at normal rates. Think outside the box people and you'll save a hell of alot. Even with train costs and hotel prices I save over £100 on Cardiff prices each year.
  3. Simply going by the current crop of Scottish riders, they wouldnt make it past the qualifiers if there was a case for Scotland to have its own WC team.
  4. Great stuff, gives me another excuse to visit the NA next season.
  5. LMAO, Chrissy is indeed a male, as posted above!
  6. Thanks for the hotel information Mama, it will be my 1st 'away' Grand Prix next season and 1st visit to Poland. Im hoping that there be a meeting in Torun the next day.
  7. Maybe thats the Misses, telling him he should think again if he wants to go there.
  8. Good to hear Mark is back racing, I was in the pits at Weymouth in 2006 when he was riding in a challenge meeting, he had Chris Holder with him as his mechanic, he looked smooth on the bike then and when I spoke with him seemed really keen to ride over here full time. It was disappointing when he stopped riding but glad to hear he is back and looks like he hasnt been away, going by his scores from Aus.
  9. How can they ban riders from riding?? That alone is stopping them from making a living, which is illegal in the EU. It wouldnt stand up in court if they tried stopping them from signing for other clubs.
  10. Emil doesnt need 'bigging' up Chrissy, we could all see he is a potential world champion, just by how he has done in his 1st Grand Prix season. Darcy is of the same mould, a 'potential' world champion, same with Chris Holder too but until any of them actually win it then they'll just be that. Same was said about Gollob, Adams, Sullivan etc years ago and look at them. So close but not good enough. Whoever wins the title over the next decade, were in for a superb series with the talent around atm.
  11. Funniest thing ive read all year, you do know its not April Fools Day?! Even with Zagar, he is pretty much on his own. I cant see the Slovenians having top equipment like the Russians did on Saturday, so they're gonna have to rely on how well they ride the track. Im sure Peterborough is a new track to at least 2 of their side. My prediction on Slovenia is their hit around 20pts.
  12. The World Cup might be a team of riders together in the pits, but when they hit the track its individual as all riders from each team ride alone, so no one out on track to help them.
  13. Will you be in the POW earlier in the day Squall? As i'll need you to show me the way to this pub were gonna play pool at
  14. I'll be planning to make the trip to this one, aint be to the EOES yet, so will be nice to visit a new track in 2009 plus with the line-ups expected it should be a superb meeting.
  15. After finding out my hotel last year had now doubled the room rate, for same length of time for this years GP, I thought sod that and wasnt gonna bother with Cardiff this year. Now the start time is earlier, I have more hope of getting the train back to Poole. And dont have to resort to sleeping in a tent. PF- you mug Why buy your tickets so well in advance? Like others have said its never been a sell out, and now were in a recession there is even more chance of more seats being available. Last year I didnt book till 2 months before and got 2 seats perfectly inline with the start/finish on the back straight Plus you have to wait longer for them to arrive
  16. Have you anything to back up that their worthy of GP spots? Kennett was rather poor at Cardiff when leading and being passed with ease, so imo he isnt anywhere near ready for the GPs. As for Tai, he's only a boy, he wouldnt even be able to fund it let alone be up to the standard, as shown in the World U21 final.
  17. The disappointing thing is most of the names that qualified, were either in it or trying to get into the GPs 6 years ago. It says alot about the lack of talent around atm.
  18. Wrong So many people I saw forced to waste theres outside the gates and then put'em in the big wheelie bins after
  19. Totally agree, in both races against Leigh and Bjarne he knew he had to get over the rider off 1 to have a chance of winning it, both times he come up short but knew if he was clipped off his bike it would be re-run. IMO I dont believe he thought either would excluded, he just did it to make sure he got a 2nd go at it. Sadly for both guys the ref mades some serious errors (which I cant understand why as he had enough video evidence to make a better judgement of the incidents). I think its about his 3/4 time now ive seen him in a final, were he has crashed whilst chasing and has always fort to get him and bike off the track to stop the race getting red flagged. For that he should be praised for as he could of easierly laid there yesterday knowing Crumpy was leading it. (Before anyone asks, I cant stand Nicki personally but when a rider gets slated on her unfairly im happy to defend their corner)
  20. Im suprised he hasn't even been dropped from squad after Wednesday night
  21. Oh dear, I hope the place aint gonna be fully of Buzzing Bees fans Ah well if it is, im one pirate fan to spoil it
  22. Ordered mine today, middle tier, M30, row 6 Inline with the start line wooo, cant wait now
