Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
Tinker replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Realise I'm putting pressure on them but I believe both Zischke and Blodorn will eventually come to the party for BV. in the play offs. It could be argued that they need to if the team are to progress to the final but I have a sneaking suspicion they will defo play their part. Here's hoping we have six keenly contested meetings over the next three weeks and as many on here have already said, it's very close to call. My prediction is a BV v Sheffield final. -
Everyone seems to be writing Belle Vue but I've got a sneaky suspicion that they will prove to be the surprise packet. They're the "sleeping giant" at the moment and Lemo will expect them to all raise their game come the play offs. Underestimate them at your peril.

Agree entirely. Watched him on a few occasions on BSN and has a very tidy style. Not afraid to go up to the fence either. Hopefully, could go far.

Thanks S. Have kept thinking Zischke will improve as the season has gone on but it hasn't really happened. As we are in touch of the playoffs both reserves will have to up their game if BV are to have any chance of retaining the League title. Enjoyed watching Workington last year (on BSN) and had high hopes for both Zischke and Voulas but both riders don't seem to have moved forward.

Watching the stream whilst on holiday in St Ives, Cornwall. Very impressed with Beth. Lots of confidence and asking the right questions. Well done. -
Really can't see what the problem with Kurtz is. Agree with previous posters, he had a bad crash at BV last weekend and probably aggravated a previous injury. I don't ride a motorcycle myself but if that crash happened to me, I probably wouldn't want to ride ever again! Anyway, BV are more or less guaranteed a play off place so why risk racing tonight when he has a GP at the weekend. He's riding for personal glory ( the ultimate dream as a speedway rider ) so if he had a bad come off tonight he'd be asking himself, why the hell did I ride tonight when there was not alot riding on it. Sensible decision in my view.

Fully agree here, I subscribe to the full BSN package and would much rather watch Championship Speedway as opposed to the Premiership. The Championship has much more variety and the league seems more competitive. Maybe we've got to the point where we say goodbye to the GP riders and have one league next season with one home and one away. Championship standard but much more variety with Glasgow v Belle Vue, Sheffield v Edinburgh, Poole v Ipswich etc etc.

Only a month! You're very forgiving Col.

Ey, steady on, I've still got all my own teeth thanks very much and not a badge in sight! Just pretty pee'd off about tonight's woeful affair. It was painful to watch and to be honest, embarrassing! -

They might just listen if there were enough of us. Amalgamation of the leagues please and if GP riders price themselves out then so be it. Oh, and please bring back the Golden Helmet. Forget the nominated rider rubbish and just have the opposition top scorer in a head to head with the current holder. Sponsorship/decent prize money and see where we go. Recap .... tonight's meeting was garbage and I'm feeling pretty annoyed. Something needs to be done! -

Hey mikebv, you come on this forum often enough so you must have the sport at heart. Like many others on here as well including myself. Probably total wishful thinking but what if certain supporters like yourself, Iainb and others who obviously care about the sport were invited by the British Promoters to attend a meeting (all expenses paid of course!) to put all views/opinions forward prior to their annual November get together. Providing there was a "full" commitment from the promoters that they would seriously listen to all views put forward and advocate changes where they thought possible, would you attend? -

I love Speedway and started off going down the Shay, Halifax at the back end of the 60's. Seen some fantastic meetings over the years but the match tonight is truly dire and is not doing speedway's reputation any good at all. It is truly awful. Probably a godsend that Birmingham are finished at the end of the season but nothing against the supporters (whom I have every sympathy with) and the riders. Unfortunately, it's just not happened for all concerned. A complete reset is required for next year. Seriously! Whether that involves an amalgamation of the two leagues or not, I don't know, but something major needs to happen. A total refresh but a top league with the likes of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Poole, Oxford etc etc would be a start. There has to be more variation with more teams involved and please bring back the Golden Helmet with decent prize money and sponsorship to attract the media's attention. Here's hoping. -
Will this be streamed? Could be a good watch.
