  1. Those three teams are most peoples predictions for topping the league anyway, so what,s your problem. Maybe you wanted a 45 point average where those teams could have squeezed in the likes of Hans Andersen etc with two 5 point foreigners at reserve.
  2. Quote from the Bears promoter... Whether you agree with the 38 points limit or not, it will do exactly what it was intended to do and that is to reset the balance between all 3 leagues and give the younger British riders a ladder on which to climb in the sport. Contrary to what some may tell you, my main motivation to support this limit at he AGM wasnt financial, but to develop new British talent. When all teams have been declared, take a look at the reserve berths in the Championship and you will see lots of young riders being given a shot as a direct result. British speedway will benefit in the long run from this new crop of riders getting their chance.Read more: http://bears-talk.proboards.com/thread/3403/2019?page=10#ixzz5ZlUfN5Og
  3. Most speedway fans would know that isn't the full story, esp' on a debut.
  4. I liked the look of Thomsen when he rode at Redcar.
  5. I would imagine Jordan Stewart and MBA will return as they were signed last season with the intension of " building for the future". With MBA will come JBA. No problems with Ben Barker returning. He loves riding for the Bears, the only problem is his traveling and if Plymouth return to the championship. Lunna a must, but he will have better offers elsewhere. Jorgensen I'd have back but his low average for a heat leader could make him popular. Berge could be a bargain, he beats anybody (when he gates and doesn't break down). With Peterborough moving up one rider I'd love to squeeze in (but it would mean the whole team having a shake up to fit him in would be Palm Toft. Bukhave could return if we need a 3 pointer (or would he have to be 4?) Ps I'm guessing Duffill will be the promoter with Mudgway to continue as manager.
  6. He was walking around the pits during and after the meeting. So just precautionary withdrawn.
  7. I thought "old fashioned" was those that enjoyed close "box office" racing and its the modern way who prefer "gate and go" racing and win at all costs. Remember when happiness used to be 40-38
  8. Barker needs to go no where. The reason is the same as the reason I didn't agree with those who wanted Garrity out last season...……………… Box office.
  9. Do you mean the same Berwick who are so far unbeaten and are sitting 3rd in the league...…. Good luck
  10. The averages sooner wouldn't have worked. OK, they could have swapped Pyper with maybe Perks, but they did what they said they were going to do and wait for the new averages, then swapped a reserve with a heat leader. The team looks a lot stronger now with Kus down to third heat leader and Jonas back down to second string. All that and keeping the two new riders at reserve where they will progress. Away you go now and back to your usual comments of calling everyone and everything "sh*te", its a lot easier for you to cope with.
  11. Be a shock to the system when he does arrive with this weather. No need to pack his flip flops.
  12. I wasn't comparing the riders, just saying that if Newcastle go the same way their team total would be well below 42.5. that's one reason why it seems they are struggling to build the team
  13. When Redcar were struggling for the final rider and brought in Bukhave on a 7, at least he made the team total respectable. Trying to bring in a new riders now uses up only 5.2. which makes it a harder problem.
  14. Just counting down the days to the new season. Not a lot else to say really. Fairly optimistic that the Bears will shock a few this season. Will be great to be back at the "TRACK OF THE YEAR"
  15. Did anyone see what Woofy was doing on twitter?
  16. Interestingly, is there a North/South devide showing in the way this is going. Northerners seem to be like "sh*t happens and those down south been the usual namby pambies.
  17. Sledging and hit a brick under the snow = freak accident. The whingearses will want a ban on speedway riders playing conkers next.
  18. If its been done to death, why did you bring it back up then.
  19. As the saying goes "size doesn't matter". Its the shape. Would a track over 1000m mean the racing would be even better?
  20. Redcar isn't tight or narrow, what are you on about?
  21. I didn't say cramp/squash, just all in one place. Other than the shock of the first meeting he got it spot on.
  22. When the track first opened I think I remember reading that CVS preferred to only have two sides open (home straight and bends 1 and 2) to compact the supporters and make it look fuller. The back straight has only been used once, and that was the first meeting when the crowd was a lot more than expected so opened it up to spread people out. I cant see it been opened for the fours unless a different route into the pits is found as that's the route (touch wood we don't need one) the ambulance uses.
  23. 2 years ago when Havvy got the replay . Wasn't a bad meeting either, but the track is loads better now
