  1. Before you change my name into something childish and personal. I've stayed clear of the track bashing etc from both Newcastle and Redcar fans going OTT the last 5 or 6 years. Banter on here used to be fun (as has been mentioned recently), with people like Mauger magic etc back in 06 to 09 ish. Then the likes of Bellers and Tsunami etc took it to the extreme and I gave it up as a bad job. Back to my original post. I went to Newcastle for the first time in 08 I think. The result was a draw I'm sure. The track and the racing was rubbish and I certainly wouldn't return even if the Bears wear nailed on to give Newcastle a tonking. My right to have that decision and give my opinion and is my last comment on the subject before the s*** starts flinging. I'll leave that for yourself and the play group.
  2. Yeah, no probs. I know your one of the posters who posts using common sence and politness. Was just making an observation really. There was two Sheffield supporters who were just behind us and laughed and joined in at our observations as well as other banter at the Sheffield crew on the second bend. Just to add, the Sheffield supporter in question tried to predict every race result and got it 100% wrong every time I'm sure he jinxed the Sheffield riders and if you want a reason Redcar won..... blame him.
  3. Was a tongue in cheek comment, but I still stick with my original comment that they applaud a Sheffield rider on a victory lap but all bow their heads and pretend to fill in their programmes and don't even look when a Redcar rider went past. Heat 15 was a classic, Three riders went round, first Bjerre who they all clapped and cheered, but later ignored Wright and Barker. Bad sportsmanship. Its the body language that's the best bit, all doing the exact same thing. Ps cant get to away meetings been self employed etc. Tried Newcastle once in 08ish but never again.
  4. Seen you or other post this before. What are you on about? Had our usual try and spot a sheffield supporter who can applaud an opposition rider game again. Still yet to spot one since the sport returned to Redcar.
  5. Agree but, Last season Bjerre (before he spat the dummy out), Andersen and esp' Bellego always made great use of the banking on 3 and 4. Its always been there for those willing to race it. The main difference now is the blue grove has disappeared.
  6. What are you using there, Daiwa, Korda or maybe Nash?
  7. For the Bears to reach the play offs I'm guessing win all home meetings and four points from the two meetings at Newcastle. Its not going to be easy.
  8. Lashing down around the Cleveland hills... hope it stays there
  9. Double headers against the same team is in the pipeline i'm guessing.
  10. I wouldnt say Redcar are weak. True we will be missing Garrity, but dont forget Barker in the British championships and Somerset has been Wrights home track for a number of seasons.
  11. I think this logic was proved well at Scunthorpe. (y)
  12. Anymore rain-offs and they'll be no room left for re-arranged fixtures. I wonder if on Sept 8th when the Bears also race Sheffield for the second time, we would have to race them twice in a double header?
  13. Gadget A discount is been given to fans who were there at the next or any meeting.
  14. I did mention I was watching Coty from the stand with binoculars, and it was certainly his back and neck that he was in discomfort with. This Gadgeys making it up as he goes along.
  15. Hello..... Its me, The bloke who watches speedway through rose tinted glasses and wont have a bad word said against this briliant sport. Ive stuck up for Redcar and the sport over the seasons. Any bears fan knows as far as im concerned I prefer good close racing to winning and loosing and applaud riders from both sides at the end of each race. If an opposition rider puts a spectacular move on a Bears rider I get the same WoW feeling I would have done if the rolls were reversed. Or if the opposition team were excellent and gave my team a good tonking then well done them. The bears finished bottom of the league the last two seasons, but I still looked forward to each Thursday coming around to get my fix. I still will go along each week as I haven't lost my appitite for the sport. Saying that, something wasn't right last Thursday and I think even before a wheel was turned Redcar were never going to be the winners of that meeting. I can take a loss, heaven knows I've seen plenty, but that defeat had dodgy written all the way through it. When I read this morning that Glasgow have been awarded the points, part of me thought " a defeat, yeah I can live with that good for them", but I cant shake off the other half which still has a bitter taste in my mouth. I said it last week and Ill say it again...."fishy, very very fishy". I'm just hoping that the forth coming statement. Isnt a change for the clubs promotion/ management. We need to back the club after like you say, after all the good work that's been done and move on....hopefully all together
  16. Have a feeling the re-match will be Sept. Sooner if Glasgow need the points. Leave it to late then watch out for rain-offs where everyone looses.
  17. Redcar fans say hes bad because hes from Glasgow area. Glasgow fans say no he isnt because he shows favoritism to Edinburgh etc etc etc. In a nut shell I think what everyone is saying is, he's a bad referee.
  18. " The rider was fine up until then"...... No he wasn't.
  19. The only thing I would add to this is that the Medics were with Coty in the pits well before the two minute warning was put on. It was then that he was moved to the ambulance after the two minutes and the announcer called for medics to go to their posts. The Medics ignored this and stayed with Coty where the two minutes was then cancelled.
  20. Never said it was deliberate, just that the ref strangely excluded Coty. Lawson cut back under Coty and forced him wide, so wide that both riders ran into the fence. It was very similar to the JBA incident, only Lawson pushed Coty the full distance into the fence, so far that he also went in the fence. I cant see where Coty would have been excluded. Just my opinion, but seemed to match the meeting as a whole.
  21. Something very very fishy with the ref tonight. Strange decision after strange decision, concluded with Lawson putting himself and Coty into and over the fence and Coty been excluded. Just to add I sit in the stand and like to watch what goes on it the pits through binoculars (call me a geek if you want). I was watching Coty and he was certainly shaken up and in discomfort. Add to that the adrenalin calming down and possible shock setting in. The paramedics were seeing to him just before the two minutes sounded then they look him to the ambulance soon after. The announcer (probably told to by the ref) called for all medics to return to their posts, but the Bears staff correctly called for a halt as Coty was in the ambulance been seen to. Glasgow riders and management were smelling a rat, but it was the medical staff who were looking after Coty, put him on a drip (I was told this later) and called for an ambulance. Very unprofessional by Glasgow to think Redcar were playing up. Look at the photos, the crash was terrible.
  22. And, it was safe to leave it parked outside the speedway hotel after the meeting while the rider went for a well earned pint... Matt Williamson is guesting for the Bears...... ger in
