  1. I think that tonight could be a good match. From the Sheffield side I just hope that we don't ride as bad as we did last time. If Picko rides like he has been doing of late and Jason keeps up the improvement he has shown over the last few meeting then I think that Sheffield should just about do it. I always like coming to KL as I have happy memories fron my time on the spanners with Adam Allott.
  2. To those who didn't turn up you missed a great meeting. Great racing, 110% effort from all who were taking part. It wasn't just gate and go. There was lots of passing and attempted passing, non more so than young Pijper's attempted inside pass on the back strieght. He came down and was rightly excluded but it showed real determination. There was only one thing more that i would have liked other than more people there to watch, would have been for both of the teams to come out on to the dog track so that the crowd could show their apreciation. Quit afew of us stayed behind to do that. I just hope that we see more of this level of racing at Sheffield even though I know we have problems with stadium availability. These young people are the future of our sport.
  3. Dissapointed with my trip to K.L. last night. I know the track was the same for both sides but I can't remember seeing the track with so few passing lanes. Where I was stood at the exit of bend 2 after the first few heats the riders were having to back out of the throtle to avoid drifting into the fence a also to get the bike into the back straight. We were out gated , and this is no excuse, I think we were robbed of a spectical of the Sheffiels boys trying to get back on terms. The best team on the night won, but as a spectical the spectaters lost. I just hope the racing is closer at Sheffield in the return match whichever team wins ( but do hope it's Sheffield) Looking forward to visiting A.F.E again later in the season.
  4. Nothing that I heard other than we will be with you next Thursday. I always like comming to KL. It goes back to when I was on the spanners with Adam Allott.
  5. My appologies to Bagpuss, as you say I missunderstood. It's just that sometimes at Sheffield we get fixtures move at late notice due to stadium unavailability.
  6. To come back at Bagpuss and his comment on "All this garbage about 'facilities being available' is OK if you own your own stadium. But at Sheffield we are tennants and can only move nights around with the agreement of the landlord even before the SCB has say. If the landlord says the stadim is unavailable then there nothing we can do about it. They must be allowed to maximise their income. I must say at this point I am told by the management that Sheffield Speedwy have a very good relationship with the landlords and that is onfortunatly is not the case for all tennant speedway clubs.
  7. As a tigers supporter I have to say that I think B.V. lost it rather than the Tigers winning it. It was plain to see that there tactics from B.V.early on in the meeting were " no last places". You could tell by the body language and hear it from the sound of the engine that they not riding flat out. As we came to the last few races all that changed. If they had gone flat out from the start we would have been dead and buried by heat 11. As a spectical the last 4 heats were fantastic. Sheffield were not at their best but when they do get it together someone ids going to take a beating. As a closing thought I would rather have meeting as close as that in the end rather than Tigers scoring 50+ points, as long as we win.
  8. I would just like to say as a Sheffield fan who went because we didn't have a home match on Thursday I was well entertaned. I know the score looks like Plymouth to a beating but that was not the case. There was some good racing, lots of passing. Ben looped at the gate and had to withdraw from the meeting which was a shame as this put Plymouth a a great disadvantage especialy when you loose two heat leaders. The rest of the team didn't throw in the towel the stuck to the task but they were never going to get much against a quality team like Scunthorpe. As for Scunthorpe they are quality from top to bottom. Kyle is a bit of a concen as it seems he's not found his gateing gloves yet but he always gives 110%. The rider who realy stood out for me was Nathan. This is one to watch and if he manages to avoid injury I can see him putting two points on his avaerge this year. Take heart Plymouth fans with a full team and an attitude like that you will be no pushover
  9. I have no problem with the riders saying that the track was bad, You only have to look at the race times. My compaint is that there was an hour and a half to curfue. What was wrong with the ref saying "OK I take your point but we will wait an hour to see if the track improves". There was no rain on the radar heading our way. Add to that Graham the track man would have had time to do a bit of his magic. I don't want to see riders hurt, but in this case I don't think that every effort was made to get the meeting to a finish.
