  1. Crap old meeting. Saifutdinov in a different class to the rest of the field. Holder should have tried to jump the start in heat 19 as gate one had such an advantage it was his only option. Could always see Tai having this sort of meeting and was never going to challenge the top six. His inexperience showing up big time. His gating was abysmal and frankly embarrassing and when in contention in the first bend was swallowed up and spat out like a wobbler. As mentioned, maybe a good thing that he was shown up by his performance. Now he will realise he has to get his gating spot on as with tracks as slick as Pardubice all over the world he won't give himself a chance if he gives everyone yards from the start. Lets see what he does next year before writing him off.
  2. Of course Nicholls doesn't have the temperament to reach the top. Have you only just worked that out? Your not the sharpest tool in the box are you! He has more than enough ability on the bike to compete with the best, but its upstairs that lets him down and has done all his career in the GP's. Look at someone like Rune Holta, who Nicholls has been competeing to get into the top 8 for the last two seasons. Holta has a horrible style on the bike and nowhere near the ability of Nicholls, but Scott can't handle pressure and makes poor decisions on track so has to fight just to reach the top 8. Acted like a petulant schoolboy? Dear, dear. I felt he reacted quite well. I would have tried to rip Dribbles head off if he tried to put me in the fence twice. Best stick to your obsession with Scoop eh?
  3. I have grown fond recently to Tatums "from the get go" phrase.
  4. Oh dear Patve. Your knowledge of the sport shines through again.
  5. My opinion 21stCentury is they are both pooh. Give whatever stats you want, but they are both poor riders, who should have been nowhere near the team. Good to see the regular viewers at Coventry and their fans were made to look like plonkers by backing Cry baby and Stead for berths. The home track knowledge paid off nicely.
  6. Good on you Steve'o. Anybody from England supporting other riders/countries over their country is an absolute digrace. Although we will finish third I will feel much more comfortable watching as we will be giving two youngsters who have a chance to get upto world class level riding and gaining more experience. Lets be honest, our top three at the moment in world class terms are well short. Found it very hard to get behind the team or overly enthusiastic with riders like Stead and Allen in there. Both crap and both non racers and should have been nowhere near it. By the way, take that chav earring off Harris. Shocking behaviour.
  7. No surprise with regards to Sean Wilson. He had no looks to lose.
  8. You must have been watching the tiddly winks world cup for the last few years then. If you think the SWC has been boring there really is no hope for you as a fan of the sport. A reason why there is no more 2v2 in a race was given above. Too easy to fix races.
  9. Lynch has shown he's an absolute plonker by picking R/R and Jon Bumstead. He says we are going for 2009 and picks them two clowns! Nice one Jim. Can see really see Cry baby and unsteady being the heart of the English team for years to come.
  10. Think the team riding sceneario was scrapped after the (un)clean one and Crump rode a race with stabilisers on in 2000 at Coventry handing the WTC to Sweden. Too much opportunity for fixing going on in a 2v2 as was seen in that particular race at Coventry, when it was laughable watching the two aussies backing off at every passing opportunity after missing the gate by miles. Can't see much wrong with the current format. Over the last seven years the SWC has provided the best racing in the sport.
  11. Bang on Orion. Also with the news of no Shazzybirk I'm eager to get my best gear out and book the Wembley tickets. I think I may be too cool for the speedway gang in my Ben Sherman shirt and Kickers though.
  12. What a nob Lynch is. Lets hope he only gets the one year. He doesn't seem to have a lot of respect in the sport anyway so it should be a year only job. The under21 set up looks mickey mouse as well. Lynch is doing our future prospects no favours whatsover picking two poor riders like Allen and Stead. Give our two best young riders as much top level experience as possible. We ain't winning the tournament so do what the Danes did a few years ago and give the youngsters ago. Look where they are now. Kennett and Woffinden are both better riders anyway and would perform no problem round Cov. Kennett has got the hang of it now and Tai is just to talented to leave out. He has more talent in his left testicle than Allen and Stead have put together. He has put himself in a position as well. Although highly unlikely to happen, what if Stead and Allen perform well? Having already named Kennett and Tai at Vojens he could find himself in a hole. Using the home track excuse to use two riders who will never ever make it to the top level of the sport when our two best youngsters need all the experience at the top level is a disgrace. Just look at the performances of R/R and unSteady tonight. Laughable isn't it that riders of that standard are taking places of riders who are more talented and who need the experience. Well done Jim.
  13. The themed music just displayed all what is wrong with the sport. Uncool, cheesy, abit pathetic and way behind the times. You can just see the fans dancing around in their wulfsport jackets, Lonsdale jumpers, riders hats and wearing shoe zone trainers. This is where the sport is at so its no surprise to see everyone being happy with the presentation, but if you want to attract different and more importantly younger people to speedway then you have no chance using the sort of music that was played. Its just not cool I'm afraid. Perfect for the average speedway fan, but anyone from outside would just laugh.
  14. D.Howe will knock him out in the semis to power his way to Zielona Gora. Using the Karlsson corridor none of the finalists will touch him. It will be a magical day for GB speedway and an even better one for one SteveoBrum.
  15. Why was "Rambo lambo" used? He can only ride one sodding track. Where were Tully or Mear? Both better riders and with much better averages. If you turn up with four and the others have five its going to be a major disadvantage.
  16. No, but Robert Kasprzak is! That should be a laugh.
  17. Well I was going to mention Howe when it came to crap in the squad, but after his performance on the telly and the Wolves result old SteveyBrum must be on the verge of topping himself so thought best not too. Where would we get such unintentional comedy on the forum if SteveBrum departed? Jim keeps worrying me by mentioning the home boys having an advantage. I'm having nightmares about Stead and Allen R/R appearing in the line up. Looking forward to the unfunny version of the chuckle brothers putting their case forwad for all things Cov.
  18. 12 man squad announced for some reason: Nicholls Harris Rico Kennett Woffinden Stead Howe King Bridger(If allowed abroad) Allen R/R Wright Lawson(Scotland) Why waste time naming a squad of twelve? Dear me there is some crap in that squad. Does Lynch really need to think long and hard about the team? Even a plonker like Lynch can see the five must consist of: Harris Nicholls Kennett Rico Tai
  19. Typical English/Scottish attitude. Hard luck boys. That was a rubbishe field no matter if it involved a couple of riders with track knowledge. If a rider of such limited ability as Bob Cheesecake can finish third it says it all about the performance of Barker/Tully. It still looks as though the majority of our under21 boys are like a fish out of water when leaving these shores.
  20. Terrible display from Barker and Tully in that standard of field. Tully can be excused as he shouldn't have been there anyway, but dire from Barker against that opposition.
  21. Any pics of the Abensberg qualifier anywhere?
  22. Cheers. So 1 o'clock BST. Will any of the German forums be doing live updates?
  23. Silly of me. After watching the SWC last year at Leszno I thought we would be in for a treat, but forgot about the Olsen factor. Completely ruined the track as usual by putting no material down. The sooner he is gone from the race director role the better for the series and the none Danish riders. Fair play to Nicki. The dying swan act done the job.
