  1. I understand that the decisions at the Conference have yet to be ratified and in the fans and sponsors can kick up a big enough stink over this, I reckon we can get this suicidal rule change kicked into touch. First we have to note whether Nigel Pearson is really worth his salt and whether he will report the finding of the poll going on with this web site. Some sort of letter writing, emailing of faxing campaign would be useful. I would recommend if you were going to do any of the above to keep your communications civil DO NOT SWEAR and communicate your disgust and dislike of this rule either to your own Promoter or the BSPA or prefererably both. If enough of us get of our bums I reckon we can make a real difference to our sport. I feel that the BSPA have grossly underestimated the hatred of this rule and it is up to us to try and swing them round to the sensible option of ditching the the Golden Double.
  2. Star Fever - were you awake when the KO Cup was being ridden? And as for a poor team doing well with tacticals - good grief it served King's Lynn pretty well didn't it??
  3. Must admit the devil will be in the detail here for gradings. Will every side have to line up with 1 x A, 2 x B, 2 x C and 2 x D. If so that's so sad - its like the football league forcing every side to play 5-4-1. If there is flexibility in formation whereby values are attached to rider gradings - then it's a points limit by the back door.
  4. I believe IoW are in the 40 point camp. But the 45 camp (provided there isn't a whole lot of double dealing going on) look like winning the day and you can count another defeat for Newport
  5. How is this going to work then Mr Something I have Long advocated? Take Grade A riders for example. Ten clubs next year yes? So we need 10 grade A riders at least don't we? They would go from Crump on 10.79 to Protasiewicz on 8.65 I can guess that you wouldn't be advocating going for Pepe. There's not enough riders to supply the 8 El sides as it stands - how can they hope to introduce a grading system? Utter madness. THIS WILL FAIL DISMALLY
  6. You people are mad,you think us southerners are going to travel to Cumbria, your off your trolley!! To be honest I don't think the powers that be will really care very much about travelling support. Its the home crowds that will concern them - and the size and marketability of the league. The EL - noteably Poole and Eastbourne - have done themselves a great deal of damage with their arrogant approach to the BLC this year in my humble opinion. The PL promoters who already regarded the EL with a certain amount of trepidation will not be runing to get into bed with his lot. HOWEVER if the best ideas the PL Promoters can come up with is the dafter than a daft brush in daft contest Knock Out Cup madness, then we are all in serious trouble.
  7. I spose he meant looking at the league table ........... Sheffield 21 points from 15 matches and Newcastle 4 points from 10 matches?? Thas going by the BSPA website Trees - well that would be a daft way (IMHO) of looking at it because there's always going to winners and losers in any league (and especialy one as big as the PL) The key is how close the top and bottom sides are when it comes to meting each other surely?
  8. I read that too - There's supposed to be a massive gulf between clubs - where? PL Bottom versus top: Reading 44 IoW46 Not a massive gulf in my book... Similar fixture in the EL: Ipswich 33 P'boro 57 I think I can tell which league has got the problems and I suggest that CVS would see better if he opened his eyes....
