  1. Tate is a good signing if he fully regains his mojo he will be a steal on his average
  2. if the actual lights are LED lamps the power consumption will be fairly modest and a generator would run easily
  3. I think one league will be a good solution as it will bring more variety and competition. The main issue is, as has been said, is how riders are graded and allocated. If some of he big guns do ride it will put teams who ride Friday, Saturday and Sunday at an immediate disadvantage as due to other commitments they wont get the riders and the could be very unbalanced.
  4. I think your right the push will be to get a couple of teams probably Poole and Glasgow to move up to the premiership and a couple of teams who are racing in NDL to move up to the championship. I fear that this will dilute the championship and make it less attractive to the casual supporter.
  5. I remember many moons ago Mike Sampson, Bob Coles and Chris Roynon used to pitch up to Holker Street in an old ford zodiac with a three bike trailer on the back.
  6. I'm of the same opinion as a number of you. Racing with 2 leagues of seven and eight teams is crazy and doesnt give the supporters enough variety. The doubling up situation is a major problem as the sense of "My Team" is essentially lost, How can it be right that a Championship heat leader also rides as a heat leader in the Premiership, it used to be that a heat leader would ride as a reserve in the top flight. Taking the star riders out of the equation the standard of riders in Premiership and Championship is pretty similar, has to be there the same bunch of riders so why not go to one league of 15 teams and maybe encourage a couple of NDL tracks to join to give more meetings, more variety etc. Lets be fair for speedway fans certain teams are a draw Belle Vue for example. I hope what ever the wat forward is that Workington are involved and the problems are resolved. It looks as though Birmingham are going at the end of the year which is another nail in the coffin.
  7. I think Craig Cook and Paul Stark will be missed. Vissing has never turned in the performances I was expecting unfortunately I think he is probably bound for Edinburgh, although Poole and Plymouth arent complete yet
  8. I think theres a lot of potential in the side. I can see they will have a strong home season not sure away. It all depends on how the team settles and gets their heads together. Lack of away track knowledge may be a problem but a stronger side the 24 if for nothing else the than the reserve berths
  9. Just been looking now that Redcar have named there 1 - 7 there are 17 available team places left in the championship. Be interesting to know how many available riders there are. I would think some will lose out and have to ride in development league
  10. In general the signing announcements in the championship are very quiet at the moment
  11. Is the feeling that Troy Batchelor will be back at number 1 ? if he is his average is 8.46 so that would leave 4.3 for the last rider so could be an assessed 4 rider.
  12. Sam Hagon seems to be linked to a number of teams. Any news on a Connor Bailey comeback?
  13. I think (hope) that the core 3 of the team will be Cookie, Troy and Tate. There are rumours Antti wont ride in the Uk but cant see that with him being established in BV team. Would like to see him back at Worky but may not fit with European commitments. Paul Starke appears to be Poole bound so their social media predicts. Can anyone explain what is the "reduction" applied to averages for team building Ive heard it mentioned but dont understand
  14. Great to hear Tate is riding well, very positive.
  15. I suspect one of the problems with floodlights is the associated investment required such as car park lighting and street lighting along the access road, the cost of installing floodlights would be a small part of the overall bill. Personally as a travelling supporter from Barrow the 3 or 5 starts suits us but wouldn't be keen on a 7 - 7,30 start as sometimes our grandson comes with us and it would be too late getting home. From a future view if the promotion seriously wants to stage FIM meetings I think lights will be recurred.
