  1. One big league is fine by me. If it's watered down that's equally fine. I want to see good racing, not superstars. Think it was 1996 we had the one big league when Eastbourne won and it was a very enjoyable season. It would be great to go see KL away at Scunny and several other tracks, as well as see some new teams at Saddlebow. (which is how I will always refer to it) Assuming I still support the KL sh#t show.......................
  2. Maybe there is a slim chance of Poole moving up (therefore being on TV) But it's a bit early to be giving Discovery+/TNT/BSN/ a huge stiffy. And that's without mentioning Mr. Top Drawer/you would suggest/three big points/fires himself to the front/stolen a march.
  3. If Iversen pulls his finger out and Klindt has his gating gloves on we could get 40.
  4. I'd like to think a barrister's grammar would be better than that! Actually I did watch this one, thinking that the track alterations had made for better racing. They haven't...........
  5. I was around in the days of Ivan Mauger, and regularly watched Tony Rik and I consider Zmarzlik the greatest speedway rider in history already. Impossible to catch if he gates and brilliant to watch come through the field when he doesn't. Initially I though it was a massive shame that Laguta was unable to defend his title, but all Laguta is is fast. He's just Vaculik with better equipment, this year he wouldn't see which way Bartek went. But what I like most about Bartek is that he has no ego whatsoever, he just loves what he does and that's a rare trait.
  6. I used to think Arena Essex(Lakeside)was bad but Leicester is the WORST track in the history of British Speedway. The only track where I don’t bother watching a meeting. ONE overtake all night !!!!!!!!
  7. Speedway is very much a working class sport. But not nearly as much as banger racing as there tend to be several people with teeth.
  8. Would love to go for a pint with Peter Adams. A sense of humour so dry he could start a forest fire.
  9. NSS always serves up awesome racing. However, the cynic in me says it will be slicker than snot for the GPs. That's before I've looked at a weather forecast!
  10. I think Ipswich will win at a canter. Kvech is a worry, even at reserve. A lot will depend on whether a 'Harris' track is prepared. Even if Klindt won't like it.
  11. Any BSB fans here? You need to see Peter Hickman standing next to Richard Cooper! Also, all riders look much larger in their kevlars. I remember once seeing Kenneth Bjerre in jeans and tee-shirt and could not believe just how tiny he was. He always had fast equipment as well so he must have had one of the best power/weight ratios.
  12. Agreed, beautiful city, the world's best (and cheap) lager and gorgeous wimmin! Shame it's never the best GP racing wise.
  13. Without wishing to sound like a harbinger of doom, this has rain off written all over it. Hope I'm wrong as I've paid my £30.99!!!!!!!
  14. Like I keep saying, the key to the Witches season was always 'can Doyle stay injury free?' It's a huge paradox. You sign an injury prone rider, but the reason for that is that he doesn't know anything other than 100% effort. Rides in a testimonial like it's a world title run-off. I'm just glad the injury wasn't worse and maybe that's his bit of bad luck done. Looking forward to the play offs.
  15. Trouble is, if you prepare a Klindt track you also prepare a track for the tattooed gating tart.
  16. But at least Saddlebow Rd. Isn't a housing estate yet..........
  17. They are nailed on IF the worlds's most injury prone rider does a full season. This comes from a massive Doyle fan BTW so I hope he does.
  18. Just to chuck my two penneth in, the worst thing about the teams this season is the predictability of finishing order. Ipswich are nailed on to win the Playoffs as long as Doyle can have an injury free season. If I were Chris Louis I would be having a word along the lines of "Dial it back to eight tenths mate and make sure your in the next meeting" BV almost certain to meet the Witches in the final. KL virtually certain to finish 5th. We need the one big league back, more variety and more tracks to visit. If that dilutes team strengths so be it.
  19. He has to retire surely? He's lucky not to be another wheelchair case. Certain to have a career in punditry so that he can earn going forward. Not sure about the 'music'.
  20. Might go to this one. Ben Cook's season HAS to start tomorrow night. Fricke will be untroubled and Harris will top score for Lynn again. Other than that it's variables and luck. 44-46.
  21. Like every season, I was filled with false hope again this year, and the way Harris started off I though it boded well going forward. And then........... It seems now that what KL do with team manipulation is irrelevant. They are dead cert finishing 5th.
  22. Adams was one of the few riders I would have paid money to see ride round on his own. Awesome style and superb throttle control, he was brilliant at avoiding the 'Rooster Tail' of the rider in front and I loved watching him do the big cutback coming off bend two at Lynn. So ironic that one of Speedway's least injury prone riders ended up the way he did. As an aside, with regard to the best rider that was never world champ I think Henka is in the running for that one.
