It'll mess up their 2026 team building, they've already signed William Cairns and Cooper Rushen and I would assume both would be on the lowest grade (although there is still time for Cairns to improve enough to not be). Plus I could imagine a reluctance to major change as what Poole are doing now certainly brings in the crowds at home.
  2. If the company was struck off for not filing accounts then that is purely on them, not the BSPL. Assets of a struck of company transfer to The Crown, and would have to be bought back by the new Ltd Co. Normal day to day operating of the assets as an individual or as the sole director and sole shareholder of a limited company is no different (unless the company gets stuck off), but a Ltd Co pays less tax, especially if the individual pays higher rate tax. If the Ltd Co had any assets that were required for speedway to run (track, licence, riders, visas) then the club could not run whilst The Crown owned the assets, which again is nothing to do with BSPL. Involvement of another promotion (through sponsorship) is likely related to the quickest way to sort visas as presumably it's easier and quicker for an established company to obtain them than a new one. Whatever the cause of the issues, it's good to see the Comets back on track (and hopefully filing accounts on time!)
  3. Poole's website have is as Bomber, Danyon Hume guesting for Nagel at 2 (who has a Danish league match), Dan T, Joe Thompson guessing for Leon at 4, Kyle, Freddy, and Max Perry is riding at 7
  4. Last Friday! But it was rained off. Poole have said that he has a Danish league match tomorrow. This Friday against Oxford should be his debut, but the current forecast is for heavy rain on Friday evening 🫣
  5. Speedway wages aren't public knowledge so I couldn't say either way. I just have an example that I did know of where Glasgow wouldn't meet a riders demands, so clearly there are limits on what they will pay as opposed to having a bottomless money pit. Do you have evidence of Glasgow paying huge sums to riders over and above all the other tracks? If so, feel free to share it. Glasgow have a great race track, and rumours suggest they have a reputation for paying riders in full and on time every week (which rumours suggest isn't as common as us fans would like to believe) which could explain why riders want to ride there

Boughen got a 15 point maximum away at Redcar last year, and got 13+1 from 6 rides at Ashfield, including a win in heat 10 when Bomber couldn't get close enough to even attempt a pass, which is very rare at Ashfield so he clearly has got talent. (AB had a tapes exclusion in heat 3, and finished behind Bomber and Masters who had the 2nd best race of the night & season in heat 15 that night). Sadly this season he just hasn't been the same rider, and it does appear to be a mental issue. Possibly not a quick or easy fix but I hope that he does get whatever the issue(s) is/are sorted and that we do see him back on a speedway bike showing off his talent

If that's true Blobby, that Glasgow have a bottomless well of money that they are throwing at riders, then why did Glasgow not meet Peter Kildemand's financial demands last year and sign Ivacic instead? And why didn't they then drop Ivacic when it was obvious that he wasn't scoring as expected/ hoped for?
  8. Did only Glasgow and Edinburgh sign up to race this year?? Assuming no rain offs this weekend that will be 6 of Glasgow's first 10 meetings against Edinburgh. And its 6 times before the first change of averages. And then half the rest were against Berwick! (So that possibly makes 6 appearances for Drew Kemp in those 10 meetings) I get that there are less teams about these days but it would be good to get a bit of variety in so we are seeing too keep interest levels up. All well and good having derby matches but not every time
  9. Could well be that they are struggling to find a taker for their temp job. If you are a youngster that fancied their chances of scoring above your assessed 2.00 would you risk getting a real average knowing that you are getting dropped regardless, when that might stop you getting a team place elsewhere? If you signed that temp contract and didn't get above 2.00 then that might put you down the pecking order if another team looks for a 2 pointer later in the year. And like you say, if you are a 2nd string/reserve in the NDL, do you really want to finish last 3 times a night for a couple of months and deal with the stick that would come with not being on the pace?
  10. Well he managed to get to the 2nd bend in the lead a couple of times a match, sadly he regularly went backwards from there and almost never passed/re-passed anyone. Through whatever combination of the tracks generally being smaller, tighter and rougher than on the continent and a different rear tyre, Ivacic never performed as well as hoped/expected. However if say Poole were to sign him on a 4 at reserve I reckon that he could hold that ave as he would score well enough at home. Sadly there was no sign of improvement over the time that he was here to suggest that he'd be worth bringing back, and given the costs involved I very much doubt we'll ever know. PS personally I'd say Richard Juul, Kevin Wolbert and the 2024 Lee Complin were all far worse signings than Trent Leverington
  11. Ivacic was a good gater but offered nothing beyond that, and gave no hint of any improvement over the time he was at Glasgow. Could do a decent job as reserve at a gaters paradise on a 4 but would not be UK based and therefore expensive, plus he's in his 30s whereas Pearson and Hook were much younger. I would doubt that Ivacic will be back anywhere in the UK. Nick Morris is a favourite rider of Stewart Dickson, so may well become a Bandit mid-season once his ban is over.

  13. He got an 18 month ban (from 5/9/23), with 9 months suspended, then got an extra month's ban for comments/messages objecting to the original findings. He also got a fined both times. It's believed that he never paid the fines, so the 10 month suspension would not have started yet. The original suspension also required that he provide 2 months with of regular negative tests at his own expense before he is allowed back. Doubtful that he will ever return to speedway

Bomber's own FB page (30th Oct) suggests that it wasn't a straightforward parting of the ways: "I have raced every season in full for British Speedway for the last 26 years and pride myself in giving my absolute all to every club I ride for on and off track, with professionalism. Speedway is a funny old sport at times, I urge fans of any rider or any club to not look through rose tinted glasses especially this time of year, there is always more to a story, I can confirm my story is going to be a good one one day, but only when I hang up my boots - which won’t be any time soon 👊 Bomber 💣"
  15. Looking at this article, and how the promotion describe the situation, I'd say that the last rider is likely to have an ave 2 points (or just under) higher than Vinnie Foord's ave.
