Pairs and CLRC
PersonalResponsibility replied to LisaColette's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
“Hopefully that will encourage more supporters to make the trip as Sheffield is just about as central as you can get when you look at the current clubs in the Championship." You know what? Fair play, that actually makes a lot of sense, which is not something the BSPL have always been good at. It does raise the question, using their same logic, why they chose Poole to host the pairs? -
"The man has undergone complicated spinal surgery. He is currently in the intensive care unit and will undergo further CT scans today for further diagnosis. I can say that his condition is serious. The young player's surgery was completed after 3 a.m. ," Zuzanna Pankros, spokesperson for the Poznań hospital, told us. "We can't provide too much detailed information, and at this point we can't even talk about any prognosis. Every hour is precious . Today's CT scan will show whether we know everything, or whether other ailments have surfaced. The situation is truly grave, and we're all keeping our fingers crossed for the young man," concludes Zuzanna Pankros. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1250038/zawodnik-po-fatalnym-wypadku-juz-po-operacji-mamy-nowe-informacje-stan-jest-ciez Truly awful. The main thing is that he pulls through obviously, but this isn't good at all.

What a miracle. I didn't think you'd be the one defending this sort of rubbish. It doesn't bother me either way - I don't support either club - but this sort of thing is commonplace in British speedway now. There's no need to defend it. -

Interesting to read. I'm sure you'll still have someone saying Zmarzlik only wins because of a lot of Polish tracks. -

I'm still not seeing the charity - they qualified for this via the SoN, nobody has handpicked Ukraine to ride in this. They've also ridden in every SoN bar one, even before Russia invaded, so that doesn't stack up either. Out of curiosity, who would you pick for the Russian team? Presumably Artem and Emil are a no-go, now they're Polish citizens? Guess we'd be back to 2021 with Vladimir Borodulin, Sergey Logachev and Mark Karion, when they finished below France and Latvia. -

What charity? 3rd behind Denmark and Australia in their SoN semi, 5 points ahead of the Czechs. They're there by merit. -

I didn't even know Ukraine had that many speedway riders. -

Leicester gone strength in depth but without much strength, and no depth. -
It's just another stupid rod that British speedway has made for its own back. Nobody is going to be bothered if Edinburgh get a guest for Dan Thompson - it's the BSN Series, effectively challenge meetings - but the rules say one thing and they decide to do another. Either enforce the rules as they are, or accept they need looked at and change them to better reflect reality.

Promoters have a long history of working together for the greater good, putting aside any differences to ensure the right outcome. I'm sure it'll go just perfectly...
