  1. Jeez what a choice! :? It has to be Nicki now...I have already told the better half that if Crump wins it in Hamar I will have to leave the room. Great rider admittedly but I really really really do not like him and the thought of him as World Champion - noooooooo! Hell I was even cheering on Leigh Adams to win last night once Trick had gone out cos I didn't want either of those two to win it! And that is desperate measures! ;-)
  2. Quite professionally done there by Hans. I'd give him a full 5.9 for style and execution! Bet the director was sooo pleased he'd decided to leave the camera on Hans at that point! Or as in Nicki's case, wipe down your kevlars with an oily old rag, blow your nose in it and then proceed to carry on wiping your face with it....
  3. Yeah loved that..where are these things to advertise the sport inbetween programmes on Sky? As for the meeting, well done to Crumpy. I don't like the guy particularly but he's definitely hitting form at the moment and looked a class above. Fair play, he's got the determination and the engines - all he needs is the luck. Thought Holta was lucky to stay in after that Andersen/Jonsoon crash. And Adams didn't think too much of Nicki P's tactics in that race to the line judging by his body languauge after that race. Other than that a far better GP than a lot recently and the title chase looks brilliant going into the last rounds.
  4. Sorry to hear about the injury - be good if you could get to ride at Poole again before you go back home. Shame your shoulders crocked - I reckon we could do with you at Wolves on Monday! Whatever happens good luck for the Aussie season - been good seeing you ride for the Pirates a few times while you've been over. Sorry guys, let you get back on-topic again....
  5. Probably one of the most boring GPs in a long time - glad I didn't waste a Saturday evening sitting through it! Great result for Scotty - he's definitely not far away from a win. How many times has he made the final this year? Dead pleased for the guy - a true pro on track and in front of the cameras. 8)
  6. Congratulations KK!! 8) A Poole 1-2-3 with ex-Pirate Drabik in 2nd so well done to Slammer and Mango too in 3rd!
  7. I'm impressed! I can't remember who's in what heat after Ht 4 other than Ht 13. Always shouting out the wrong names until they go past to line up and hope no-one hears me! I'm like you LW, just go to watch the racing, have a beer and have a natter (bit like the GP Qualifier really ) - leave the programme filling to the other half. Makes me laugh - he's insistent on getting the times for the heats, but the scorecard just gets dumped in a drawer never to be seen again when we get home. Must be a man thing!
  8. Sure could have done with him riding at Poole last night!
  9. Cool pics Bartosch! Although that Dryml/PK crash still looks horrific!
  10. Ben Barker....like a Kenneth Bjerre clone. Tiny, fast and fearless - if he rides like he did at Weymouth at every track he's definitely one to watch!
  11. Just returned from a marathon meeting - 3 and a half hours for 20 heats! :? Pepe fully deserved to win, was definitely on form all day. Shame to lose PK and Lukas in a really bad crash when they both locked together out of the start and demolished the fence heading it at full speed. A lot of quite bad crashes, just caused by nothing more than riders trying to go for any gap. The racing got better as it went on, but PK and Lukas were definitely missed. Lukas has a broken ankle, not a good month for him! Steady needed a win on his last heat to go for the last qualifying place but ended up in the fence. Couldn't really see who was at fault from where I was stood but the grandstand left the ref in no doubt! Good forum meet-up today. Nice to see LW, Bart, WvH, Scotty, TT, SteveT, MrD, Jo1515, DutchBoy (fat, blond and blobby huh! ) and Star Lady with supporting visits from Steve Shovlar.
  12. Jack Daniels - new BLC squad signing for Poole I heard... Went along to practice this morning, surprised at how many riders weren't there but then they can't complain if they do nowt tomorrow! We had plenty of rain last night so the track looked quite good and the riders were trying quite a few lines. Lukas as expected looked good as did PK. Think Jesper B might have a good one - Bob was quite fast. Lukas was spending a lot of time with Ales when he was practising so Ales could be in with a chance for a top 6 place if Lukas gives him all the right hints! Finally if Simon Stead rides at Worky tonight then someone somewhere needs shooting! :? I figure he must have ridden at Somerset last night, but he was there this morning with only one very dirty bike - did about a dozen laps and then left, I'm assuming back up to ride tonight before coming back down again here tomorrow. The kid has been given a chance to compete in the biggest meeting of the year outside the GPs and he isn't able to prepare properly. No wonder our youngsters find it tough to progress if this is what they have to go through before big meetings!
  13. I've just seen that the Poole site will be running Live Updates from this for anyone that can't get there and wanted to follow the meeting. Practice is on the Saturday morning from 9.30 and is open to the public - it's usually worth a look and the Poole track never usually changes much between practice and the meeting - it's always slick!
  14. Now that sounds good. I've never thought that a full European league could work, but a Champions Cup is a brilliant idea. Like you said, how come there's no British, Danish or Swedish representatives? I guess it's another case where the amount of riders turning out for various clubs in these different countries could cause a problem :?
  15. I heard somewhere that David Howe was going to make an early decision on whether he rode or not which meant that another British rider could come in and take his place. If he had dropped out closer to the day then the next in line from the qualifiers would have come in. Seemed strange to me when I heard it but with Stead in, it's obviously true. Good to have another British rider in, but if I was Zagar of Kylmakorpi I'd be more than a little bit miffed not to get the place.
  16. Shazzy...they weren't picked at the start of the season for the prelims and of the Brits that were, only David Howe is left.. Hope to see a few forum members there on the day. Fourth bend for a few beers and we'll bag the seats for yer weary feet!
  17. Nope sounds like it's back to the UK again...which means the final at P'boro again probably...which will suit the Aussies!! Congrats to Sweden, a great result against the odds. Although the track was poor, it was a brilliant meeting with everything so close all the way through. Really thought we had that 3rd place for a while too...
  18. Great world cup from all the guys, couldn't have asked for more commitment all week. Wasn't to be our night tonight, but what a meeting! 8)
  19. The Team GB part of me thinks more chance for us to get through - the Poole fan part is going 'aarrrgghhhh!!'! Come on Middlo and Co...give 'em hell! Should be agreat one to watch whatever!
  20. Did you think so? I really enjoyed that first meeting - thought there was plenty of good racing for positions particularly for 2nd and 3rd places. I agree with Peter about reducing the number of countries - look at last night it was like 2 separate meetings going on. Perhaps really make it a team cup by putting eight teams into 2 leagues of 4 and have a mini league over the first 3 days each team meeting each other in their league with the top 2 going forward into a semi and then a final.
  21. Fair point Lunchy, but the Aussies won that meeting last year after they played the joker and overtook the Brits and I think that's what wound people up... Well done to the Aussies - felt for poor old Toddy though Lyons had a blinder! But what a brilliant display from Team GB, we got far closer to the Aussies than I think anyone dared think, and I have a feeling that it's not as cut and dried as it maybe has been the last couple of years as to who's gonna win in 2003. I hope Middlo sticks with that lineup, they all did us proud and I know they can do it on Thursday. At least they'll all have tried the 5 man races ready for the Final!!
  22. Yep well done Floppy, exceded all expectations and made me wonder how far this guy could have gone in his career before now if he'd constantly shown that commitment and determination :?: Not a criticism but I'm sure over the years we've all see the David Norris who turned up at our tracks now and then not really too bothered. This version last night was focussed and determined, fully justified his inclusion. Good on ya Middlo - good choice and same again on Thursday please Floppy!
  23. Same thoughts from me too - hope the racing tonight is as good as it was yesterday! That was a great meeting. Good luck guys!
