  1. why don't you click on http://convention.bydgoszcz.pl/index.php?o...=64&lang=en and see for yourself what Bydgoszcz has to offer for Bydgoszcz's hotels click on http://convention.bydgoszcz.pl/index.php?o...=41&lang=en cheers PolskiZuzel
  2. I have to agree with you. By all accounts Emill will be given a chance to ride in the next year's GP...and because of that, although not the only reason, he won't have enough spare time to ride in the UK. He already rides very sucessfully in three leagues and with the 2009 GP looming over him he will be too busy even to think about 40 odd matches in England. PolskiZuzel
  3. I totally agree with you, Lawrence, and I'm quite sure we will see Emil in the next year GP. "If I was given a chance I would say yes. In fact it's my dream to ride with the best in the world in the GP series, admitted Emil to the Bydgoszcz newspaper's reporter. Saifutdinov's manager, Mr Bogdan Sawarski, is confident that his protégé would not let down thousands of his fans. Yes, it's true he is still very young and still learning, but I am sure he would not disappoint those who believe that he can do it. If official proposal comes our way we will think it over. The Grand Prix is another kettle of fish, but, I'm sure we would managed, added Saifutdinov's manager. Although next year wild cards decisions won't be made before the annual FIM congress (19-25 October in the Republic of South Africa), Saifutdinov's today's successful defence of his junior world championship title gives him more than a chance of being awarded with the permanet wild card for the 2009 Grand Prix series. So let's wait and see ! PolskiZuzel
  4. OK! fine, that's your opinion. Mine is that the referee should stick to his guns. If he excluded Pedersen then he should have excluded Crump as weel. OK, Gollob did not have to pass Crump, but having said that he passed Crump clean. There was no contact, and it was not Gollob's fault that Jason decided to hit the deck.
  5. Correct me, if I'm wrong, British speedway stadium are mostly owned by GRA ( the British Greyhound Racing Association ) Yes, I do know, that British town and city authorities pump NOTHING in your speedway clubs. BUT, perhaps SOMEONE should try to persuade them - at least - to do that. After all, who 10 years ago heard about Bydgoszcz, or in the last few years about Czestochowa, Zielona Gora, etc. I'm not sure whether promotors have tried, particularly recently. I remember the days when there was the Gulf British League, etc. OK, you have now Sky Sports Elite League, but where do all that sponsoring money go? How much of it finds its way do each and every British club? Rules changing is not only happening in Britain. Those in authority think that by doing this they improve the sport. I think is other way round. What people want is clear cut set up, with no rider replacements, no 'golden reserve', 'jokers' etc. Would you accept in football a rule which says that because the other team are three up you can have a penalty shot? I bet you wouldn't. The same in speedway. Newcomers, if they get persuaded by someone to come and watch speedway can't get their heads round thinking how stupid speedway rules are.
  6. Why should they be buying 'their' stadiums? As far as I know, speedway stadiums in Poland are not owned by the speedway clubs. If anything they are owned by city authorities. Bydgoszcz "Polonia" speedway club is not rich enough to own the stadium, or to stage the annual GP event there. It's the Bydgoszcz city authorities who pump the money, getting in return (as they see it) publicity for the town. Try this with Ipswich, Reading, etc. Find a sponsor like a British Petroleum, Gulf, Coke, etc., anybody of similar statute. Create publicity around speedway, make it exciting for those who never heard of speedway. Don't kill it slowly by choping and changing its own rules. It can be done, why not in Britain? regards Polski Zuzel
  7. Tress, so what, or perhaps who, is stopping England to have the same set up as Poland? It's a free world and you do, presumably, the way you think is best. Don't you ? regards PolskiZuzel
  8. ...and so do I, Lawrence. I am glad to report to be back online again. In the last two weeks, or so, due to my moving, I was cut off from all the news and gossips. So this is my first opportunity to thank Rico, Mama and you Lawrence for having me on the coach trip to Zielona Gora. The trip itself was quite enjoyable, but the actual event called the GP Challenge was a big disappointment, weather included. If it wasn't for a nice trio of King's Lynn (Tomas Topinka) supporters from the other coach I would get frozen stiff!. That's how cold it was. Keep up with your very good job, Lawrence, filming and interviewing speedway events. Regards to you all. PolskiZuzel
  9. Thanks for the links Mama. The site is really great. Quality of pictures is amazing. Commentary ?... will get better... I'm sure. All we need is some graphic inserts, to tell us who rides with whom and in what helmet colours. Otherwise, I' ll say - WELL DONE!!! keep it up.
  10. Read all about Andrzej "Whoosh" Huszcza in the BACKTRACK the Retro Speedway magazine for the fans of the 70s and 80s, issue 21, July-August 2007, pages 28-29. LOL
  11. Wladyslaw Pietrzak, one of the 'fathers' of post-war speedway in Poland, has died today 27/03/2008, at the age of 89. RIP
  12. Hi Rico! What a great idea. Count me in ( if not too late ). Kind regards to all fellow travelers to Ostrow. PolskiZuzel
  13. Thanks a lot, Rico ! Knowing I am now on the list I await further instructions :-) PolskiZuzel
  14. Well, Hazzman, I already have 43 definites for the 49 seater bus and another 3 enquired this morning, so it doesn't take a genius to work out that at some point very soon I'm going to have to put the 'Bus Full' sign up. I hope there is still time to book me in. regards PolskiZuzel
  15. Indeed...May I offer, on behalf of all people involved in Polish speedway, heartfelt condolences to Kenny's family and friends. RIP PolskiZuzel
  16. Yes! You are 100% right. The pictures come from the local crew, and the commentary from the given channel studios.
  17. I also watched German Eurosport on that evening, but will disagree with you on Barth. He kept saying that the event was coming live from Warsaw, and instead Ulamek kept saying ULMANEK :-)
  18. Good post !I wish others could see the way you do.
  19. It was rare indeed. In the 70s only Tony Svab (sr) - father of Tony jr (former Ipswich rider, and Milan Spinka managed to break Soviet monopoly. 1970 Nassjö S - Antonin Svab Czechoslovakia 1971 Inzell D - Gabdraham Kadyrow Soviet Union 1972 Nassjö S - Gabdraham Kadyrow Soviet Union 1973 Inzell D - Gabdraham Kadyrow Soviet Union 1974 Nassjö S - Milan Spinka Czechoslovakia 1975 Moscow SU - Sergei Tarabanko Soviet Union 1976 Assen NL - Sergei Tarabanko Soviet Union 1977 Inzell D - Sergei Tarabanko Soviet Union 1978 Assen NL - Sergei Tarabanko Soviet Union 1979 Inzell D - Anatolii Bondarenko Soviet Union
  20. Yes, you right. Milan Spinka used to ride for Swindon in 1980. Here is an excerpt from Swindon's website: (...) Swindon were a real Jekyll and Hyde team, managing to win no less than five league matches away from home, but to offset that, they lost three and drew two meetings at Blunsdon! Once ‘Crumpie’ had returned, he backed Scott Autrey all way, averaging 9.41, but the Robins lacked a third heat-leader as the final averages of the other most used team members proved: Steve Gresham (7.40), Bob Kilby (7.23), Milan Spinka (6.46), Steen Mastrup (5.49) and Malcolm Holloway (4.93) (...)
