  1. You have my utmost sympathy believe me. It's causing me a bit of a minor pain, but we are going out Thurs - Mon, so arriving later on the Thursday isn't that big a concern, the arrival back in Stansted at 2315 pretty much removes the thought of getting public transport home though. HenryW is looking at having to fork out for a night in a hotel at Stansted as well as fees for changing both his connecting flights back to Edinburgh. Ryanair do contact the booker of flights by e-mail with details of the revised times. It looks like they have shifted the flight permanently to it's new slot with the start of their summer timetable on 26th March 2006. Rico
  2. Wording from Ryanair web site Flight cancellations and schedule changes If your flight is cancelled or before the date of travel, is rescheduled so as to depart more than three hours before or after the original departure time then you will be entitled to a travel credit or full refund of all monies paid if the alternative flight/s offered are not suitable to you and you do not travel. Not much consolation to the likes of yourself or anyone who has arranged a flight connection based on the flight time originally stated (no chance of getting a connecting flight at 2315 on the return leg). I had this problem with Ryanair coming back from Berlin (on a Bydgoszcz trip once) where they moved the flight back about 5 hours. I ended up just taking an alternate carrier, but at least it was from the original airport. I'm sure last year they kept tinkering with the departure time on the Wroclaw flight but it didn't move by more than 30 minutes or so, which most folks can deal with. My suggestion to you would be to take the refund and use Wizzair, fly to Gdansk from Luton and get the train down from Gdasnk to Bydgoszcz. You could of course use your travel credit to fly with Ryanair to Gdansk as well. Rico
  3. I think it might be safe to say that Mateusz, Lawrence and Tommy (our Polish friends) will be there too Matt This is of course assuming that Tommy and Mateusz survive their trip to Cardiff Rico
  4. My advice would be to get the train for either of the journeys I mentioned (from Gdansk or Poznan). We got a taxi from Gdansk airport to Torun last year and it certainly wasn't anywhere near as comfortable as a train ride. More like a white knuckle ride Rico ps Matt - add HenryW and TheDoctor to your list. If you scan the earlier parts of this topic you'll see a few others.
  5. Speedwayworld site has ticketing information for those that have been released so far. Rico
  6. Many other flight options if you don't mind arriving into Gdansk or Poznan. As Bydgoszcz only has one flight a day to Stansted it was always going to fill up pretty quickly on that particular weekend. Both Gdansk and Poznan are very nice places to stay over for the night before travelling on to Bydgoszcz. Thankfully travel convener HenryW managed to snap them up our flights at their cheapest and our flights are £50 return including taxes. Rico
  7. I think you are actually doing Sharon a dis-service there Tommy. Her domination was above and beyond even the great Rickardsson's in the 2005 GP series. I personally thought you were closer to Crumps 2005 performane and I think you might be doing HenryW a little bit of a dis-service, given his switch of engine from piwo to Jacek Daniels. Rico
  8. I do always look forward to my Bydgoszcz trips, however this year seems to be building up to quite an occasion. Looks like 30+ forumites on the Friday night in the Brda, should be special. Will be interesting to see which of the newbies to Bydgoszcz last the pace after the usually wild Friday night (am thinking Mr Davis here ). Then the GP and the party in Chesterfields to follow it really should be a brilliant weekend. Thursday to Monday for myself, HenryW and the Doctor. I think the Tuesday might have to be booked off as well after 4 days with the Doctor. Bring it on !! Rico (oh and wild weekends in Wroclaw and Cardiff to be had beforehand)
  9. Great to hear you are going to Bydgoszcz TST - was worried that as they had moved the back a bit you might be spending your pennies elsewhere (I am sure you will be anyway) and giving Bydgoszcz a miss. Friday in the Brda wouldn't be the same without you. Sounds like it's gonna be a bit busier this year Rico
  10. Anyone considering a trip to Krsko may be interested to know that Wizzair are starting direct flights from London Luton to Zagreb w.e.f. 27 March 2006, just in time for the GP. Flying out on the Friday and returning on the Monday currently comes in at around £50 including taxes. I have flown with Wizzair a few times before and my experiences have all been good. Rico
  11. Am interested to know where you found 30p beer in Wroclaw - I think the cheapest we saw was around 3zl (50p), but generally paid around 6zl (£1) in and around the main square. The chilled out atmosphere is worth the small premium. Rico
  12. And there was me calling him 'Colgate'. Rico
  13. Happy NY to you FSP, I put the quoted phrase in my bull$hit translator and it came out with "Rszeszow offered me a lot of cash to go and ride for them - I therefore want to ride for them." Rico
  14. Creetingblue, I have done that particular route (fly to Katowice airport, bus to Katowice centre, then train to Wroclaw) and it's do-able, but obviously nowhere near as convenient as flying direct to Wroclaw itself. Trains, from experience, are generally reliable in Poland. Colleagues from Edinburgh (6 of them) are going to use a minibus taxi to take them from Katowice airport to Wroclaw, but I guess it depends how many of you there are as to whether that would be a worthwhile option. Link here. Katowice airport is a good 30/40 minute journey out from the the city itself, so bear that in mind when considering your train connection. You'll enjoy yourself in Wroclaw, regardless of how you end up getting there. Rico
  15. Lawrence, I guess the invite got lost in the post maybe ?? Good to hear Papa B will be in Poland again this year ! Rico
  16. In case anyone wasn't aware Ryanair have released their flights for Wroclaw for next summer. Not as cheap as would like, but it's clearly a very popular route. Rico
  17. Was trying to do the same myself Caroline - clearly I failed Rico
  18. It won't be a silly question a ) if he says no or b ) he decides to stay in Oxford, rather than venture east Based on reports from NikkiF I am not so sure Mr Davis is quite ready for a trip to zuzel Mecca, however he can perhaps put in some training prior to the event. Rico
  19. Czesc Lawrence. I have been looking at some very nice photos courtesy of MK at the Polonia Bydgoszcz Net Fans Party. I didn't know you did penguin impressions. Only joking matey All you need now is Mariela on your arm and you will be sorted. Do zobaczenia Rico
  20. We are booked into the Pod Orlem, I think next Sept will be the 6th year in a row we have stayed there. They usually have rooms available once the organisers have sorted themselves out, but its not until late on that you find out. The Friday night session is usually in the Brda and the Saturday in Chesterfields under the City hotel, so either of the hotels you mention would leave a taxi ride home one night and a stagger upstairs on the other. Rico
  21. You need to have friends in high places, eh Mateusz Rico
  22. Hey GG4E Rzeszow is not close by to Wroclaw - its about 250 miles I think. We are looking at going to the Ostrow v Zielona Gora First Division match (about 1hr 45 by train) or either of the Second Division meetings at Rawicz or Opole (about an hour away by train). Big favourite is going along to the Ostrow match though as it should be between the two heavyweights of Division 1. I have been promised that the Zielona Gora fans will be better behaved than last year at Leszno. Rico
  23. Tak tak Tomek Going to have to burn my Atlas Wroclaw cap. Rico
