  1. And Bydgoszcz spurn the chance of an away win at Leszno after leading 31-29 after 10 heats. Again courtesy of Sportowefakty. 2. I see Tarnow have had a shocking result in their derby match at Rzeszów. Looks like the kings of Polish speedway's season is turning into a disaster by their recent standards. Champion, or anyone else from Tarnów care to explain what on earth is going on ? What would the score have been if it wasn't for an exclusion apiece for Miesiąc and Stachyra. 3. It certainly does get a bit hot in Sektor B at times - not quite nuclear proportions though Rico
  4. I wouldn't say I'm in a better position than anyone else to comment on this. IF I said I don't think it will change by a few minutes now, that could make me look very silly if the flight time changes dramatically. It's those with connecting flights that any changes really affect. Personally it will just be a case of checking the night before what time I need to be at the airport and pitching up accordingly. Rico
  5. Not really - he's looking at 28 September It's the thought that counts though. I and a number of others are on your flight out on the Thursday whowasthatberntpersson. Hopefully catch up with you on your travels. Rico
  6. whowasthatberntpersson Don't you mean travelling from Stansted as opposed to Gatwick ? If so, I'd suggest Oxford is achieveable in 2 hours at that time of day, with Swindon perhaps 2.25. I picked up some friends from Stansted recently around 5pm and had a bit of a nightmare coming through the roadworks at the tunnel and it took me around 3 hours to get back to Reading, but that was including a pick up at Heathrow. I'm impressed at your appetite for speedway ! Rico
  7. Cliff, Can't believe no-one has replied to this so far ! In answer to your queries, the track is about 15-20 minutes by tram from the centre of town. There is a bar just outside the stadium that is very basic, but generally a good atmosphere if you get to sit outside with all the Poles. There are also bars behind the main stand in the stadium along with some food stalls selling mainly large sausages and bits of pork. Don't go along thinking you are going to Cardiff - the GP in Prague is a much more down to earth experience, but if th weather is good you will hopefully enjoy it all the same. For accomodation we've stayed in Hotel Pyramida, which is on the tramline between the stadium and town. It's a pretty bog standard 3* hotel. Also stayed at the Radisson, just off Wenceslas Square, which is very pricey but a lovely hotel. There were a lot of Brits went last year and I'm sure a few of them could give you recommendations. As the GP is outside the city centre, whilst you will see speedway fans in town before and after the meeting, the atmosphere in the city centre is nothing like Cardiff. It is a very enjoyable place to visit though and there's something for everyone. Rico ps Don't expect to see the whole city in 3 days. There is so much to see and do !
  8. Yeah Gary, I was replying specifically to Cedarman's question, in which he stated he was going into Sektor B. Rico
  9. You should be able to pick them up at the stadium at practice or (it's usually before 1700hrs) on Saturday. Rico
  10. I thought Richardson had pulled out and been replaced by Howe. Guess we'll find out for sure once the full results are posted. Rico
  11. Absolutely pointless having Stead in at Reading - the bloke just doesn't seem to be able to ride the track. Harris has had decent meetings there in the past though. I'd be looking at a GB team of Richardson, Nicholls, Loram, Harris and Louis at Reading for the race-off, assuming Chris wants to ride. If Stead is in the team, then I'd have to suggest the team manager hasn't done his homework. Rico
  12. Check postings at bottom of previous page Rabbit from myself and Tomazpozrl. Rico
  13. To decide who qualified for the next round. I've explained it in my other post and hope it makes sense. Rico
  14. So, the way it was worked out was Heats 21 and 22, winners go straight to heat 24. Others go into heat 23. Heat 23, last placed rider goes out. Heat 24, 4 riders riding for 3 spaces. Not too difficult and I guess about the fairest way to do it as everyone had a chance and second chance to qualify for the last race. Rico
  15. 24 - obsada: Laukkanen (A) - 3, Jaguś (D) - 2, Kołodziej © - 1, Gafurov ( - 0. Jaguś i "Koldi" w Vetlandzie! Gafurov misses out. Laukkanen, Jagus and Koldi go through to Vetlanda. Rico
  16. Cedarman, The tickets are reserved for you and you collect them and pay for them when you get to Bydgoszcz. I have used this method before without any trouble. Assuming you have been before you'll know that the seats are first come first served (ie no seat numbers on tickets). Maybe mention in your e-mail that one of your group has special requirements - maybe the club will be able to help you. No harm in asking anyhow. Rico
  17. Well, after the rumoured capacity numbers I heard tonight, there won't be many people in the stadium for either meeting. As I don't want to appear to be scaremongering, perhaps someone should ask just how many tickets are going to be available. Rico
  18. Holta hasn't ridden in either the Polish Golden Helmet or Polish National Championships this year, so they haven't bothered asking him to the SWC. Don't think you'll hear many Polish fans complaining. Rico
  19. I've used this method in the past for Bydgoszcz and the tickets are always there. Finding the reservations desk, well that's a different matter Rico
  20. No problem Gary. You know where we'll be on the Friday and Saturday nights Rico
  21. Mateusz tonight confirmed that you can't replace U21 riders with a tactical replacement. Hopefully that clears your confusion regarding Szczepaniak. The rule is in place to ensure that the U21 riders get their quota of rides. I am sure one of our Polish colleagues will confirm the full details of the rule. Rico
  22. I asked Mateusz about Sajfutdinov and he suggested the talented young Russian was injured. Sorry no more info than that. Rico
