It doesn't look too far on the map, however I'll be getting a taxi from the station as it's the first time I've gotten off a train in Leszno. Rico

Hopefully the weather will be sunny enough to warrant the shades being on regardless. I was disturbed to read that the Leszno meeting today started at 1400 - still haven't had next weeks start time confirmed though. The thought of having to get on a train early enough to make that start time does not fit in with me at all, but I will make the effort for sure as it should be a cracking match. Rico

You are getting confused Andy. This meeting is at Wroclaw, a totally different city. You are confusing the issue with Chorzow, which is where the national stadium (Slaski) is. Wroclaw hosted a GP last year, the 2 previous years the extra Polish round was in the Slaski Stadium. Rico

Just bear in mind that my travelling companion of last night has a little bit of a reputation for leading me astray. I will be a little better behaved in Wroclaw I can assure you as HenryW is somewhat more sedate than The Doctor. Joanne, I will of course be going to Leszno and anyone who wants to tag along is welcome to. At the moment I am leaning toward suggesting getting the 1142 train, however that may be a little ambitious after a Saturday night in Wroclaw. Once I have confirmation of the start time at Leszno then a decision can be made. Rico

I am 100% sure there will be, however they will doubtless want to get the Grand Prix at Wroclaw out of the way before starting to sell them. Check back in May I'd suggest. Rico

Remember you'll be in a heaving crowd HenryW, always good to add a few degrees to the temperature. And then when they set the flares off, you'll be whinging that you are too hot in your heavy jacket ! A couple of pre-meeting beers will see you through it, though I guess as ever you should pack the cold remedies, just in case. I'll be sticking to my light jacket though. Rico

Click here for info on the climate for Wroclaw. My expectation is t-shirt or long sleeve top during the day, light jacket at night. I am Scottish though, so anything above freezing is good enough to get the sun-cream out. Rico

Agree with the general point you are making Subedei - which reading between the lines is that our youngsters just aren't anywhere near the grade at the moment, whereas in Poland the youngsters can be competitive in the big events. I remember first time I saw Hampel at Bydgoszcz I didn't think he'd be capable but the lad proved me wrong and has now gone on to prove himself in the top 8 of the world - hard part for him now comes taking another step up the ladder and improving on last year. Hopefully from a British point of view Stead will progress in leaps and bounds this season and be ready to take on the number 16 jacket at Cardiff. At least he'd know he's got 5 rides and not just 2 or 3 as was likely in the past. Rico

FYI Kasprzak rode in the Bydgoszcz round last year, finishing 1st in heat 1, 3rd in heat 7 and being eliminated by finishing last in heat 11. As they've gone for Miskowiak, I hope they still think of the great entertainer of last years Wroclaw GP, Grzegorz Walasek - he was worth the admission alone - and Pepe Protasiewicz (who made the final) for the track reserves. Or will they go for the young guns of Rempala and Kolodziej ?? I look forward to the official announcement. Rico

Trams 8,9,12 and 17 serve the Olympic stadium in Wroclaw. Takes about 15/20 minutes from town centre. Holiday Inn is quite close to the centre, very close to the railway station if my memory is correct. Good links are the Wrolcaw club site - hover over WTS Atlas Wroclaw, then you can select stadium info (Stadion Olypijski). The Wroclaw City site has interactive map and info in 4 languages. Need anything else just shout. Rico

I agree - this indeed sounds a fine idea. I don't drink much during the day though, so you should be ok for me staying concious and guiding the way. Really not a difficult trip, get to Wroclaw train station, get on train to Leszno, jump in a cab from the station to the track, job done ! But in saying that, I'll gladly accept free beer Rico
