  1. Is it confirmed that Zagar is the wildcard? If so then that is soooo wrong, how they can pass over Ferjan on his current form is beyond me!!!
  2. Personally I think that if a rider finishes with more points in the qualifiers then they deserve to pick first should they get to the final. I don't know, people complained when gates were balloted for, and now they are complaining when the best riders in the qualifying heats (with qualifying being the important word here) get to choose their gates in the semi-final and final... And if Rickardsson is that annoyed about it then he could always pull out!!!
  3. As opposed to the initial post that stated he had fenced Bjerre?!
  4. Spot on - I never thought that a speedway supporter could talk so much sense (or, to be honest, any sense at all!!!)!
  5. Well I wasted a fiver on both Nicki P and Lindback - made the final extra exciting though!!!
  6. I bet if Nicki was an Ace you'd be backing him... Supporters will more often than not wear rose tinted glasses when it's one of their riders involved in controversy. I'm not having a go, it's just that I can understand people showing loyalty (no matter how controversial an incident is!). I'm the same with Hans!!!
  7. How I hate B Pedersen. I had £5 on N Pedersen to win at 6/1, and by laying down his bike after minimal contact it cost me £35. It was clear that Nicki had the pace to catch both Crump and Rickardsson, if only Bjarne hadn't of cheated... And don't any of you try and defend Bjarne over this, he's turning into another Holta!!!
  8. Am looking at putting a fiver on Andersen at 10/1 (William Hill are offering this) to win the Polish GP. Does anyone know of better odds? Also, what happens if I choose E/W? Would I get a pay out if he finishes top 3 or top 4? Thanks.
  9. Am feeling a bit left out here, so could you also e-mail me too? My addy is ezekiel586bc@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks m8!!!
  10. I have to be honest and say that I thought that Kasprzak should have been given the wild card anyway, so am glad that he is in for next weekend. As for Robert withdrawing I think that although a difficult decision to make I think that he is thinking very sensibly, especially as he has struggled at times this season (with good reason considering his age and lack of experience).
  11. How can you have Stonehewer at reserve but not even mention Nicholls? Are you mad?!!!!! I'd find it way too difficult to name my top 16, although for me Holta would definitely be left out. He was great a couple of seasons ago but not any more, plus he goes down way too easily - he just can't seem to mix it with the big boys....
  12. how could you forget about carl stonehewer at Reading in 2002! Another cheat out there, and a Brit to top it off?! Never realised that we were that bad as a nation... Also gotta add Rickardsson to my earlier list. After all if Hans can get slated for saying something along the lines of 'i was spinning my t**s off' then so should Tony for saying something along the lines of 'i'm getting really p***ed off with ballotting for gates'. And there was me thinking that he was cleaner than clean, I'm devastated now...!
  13. You know, you are spot on about Hans, he's scum and that's all there is to it, except.... 1. Norris is just as bad if not worse after his recent attempted headbutt, which he admitted was stupid and out of order. 2. Pedersen is a certainty after taking out Hancock in a classic 'oops, I didn't see him'. Maybe it's just that the Danes don't have any peripheral vision... 3. Crump has to be added after literally kicking out at Pedersen on Saturday. 4. Richardson for taking Loram into the fence at Coventry in the British Final a couple of season ago - we don't forgive and forget after all do we, according to some of you lot out there anyway... 5. Which means that Tatum has to be added after his disagreement with Allen (I think I'm right in saying it was Allen). 6. And Nicholls then gets added for his disagreement in the pits with Pedersen a few seasons ago, with talk at the time of him even deserving a ban... Shall I go on? So before you castigate Hans for his actions, why don't you have a go at some of the Brits as well? Go on, it's fun to have a go at people after all... My final point in this post is: I wonder what Hans thinks about all this? Probably nothing, cos he has a life which doesn't revolve around the Internet, unlike some other people that I could mention. This is Ezekiel signing off...
  14. So should the person with the camera that resulted in Scotty stopping - I bet that was you wasn't it? Come on, own up and stay away in future!!!
  15. Superb effort by Hans, I was even cheering him on more than Scotty... For me, last night's meeting proves that Hans has the X factor to be a future world champ, and is the new and improved Nicki P!!! Hopefully he can go on and finish in the top 8 so that he is in the 2005 GP series - although if he does miss out he must be in with a major shout of a wild card...
  16. I take your point falcace, but with the field being reduced to 16 riders it'll mean that you get rid of, without sounding harsh, those that are just making up the numbers. If you keep the current formula then you have to watch several heats containing sub-standard GP riders until they are eliminated and you get to the main event. It would be better if you could just cut out the pre main event and keep the current formula, but would spectators be willing to watch a GP if there were only about 15 heats? I don't think that I would. So in order to make the series more competitive thorughout the field I see no other alternative than to cut the series down to 16 riders and revert back to the 5 rides per rider system...
  17. I was only talking about this with Tom Thumb a few weeks ago, and that the GP series should revert back to the old formula and cut it down to 16 riders. If u don't believe me u can always ask TT! 8) Great idea in my opinion, it'll be better for the series, better for the riders competing (which rider wants to travel around Europe for just two heats of speedway?), and better for the domestic leagues.
  18. It makes a nice change for me to actually get some replies to a posting that I've made!!! At least I was not on my own in being a little disappointed.
  19. I ended up going to the GP last night, and have to say that I was left a little disappointed. For someone who is so keen on speedway I personally thought that there was a distinct lack of overtaking in a lot of the heats last night, especially during the first 7. There also did not appear to be as good as an atmosphere as there was last year e.g. no mexican waves, less crowd interaction, but maybe this was due to the racing being served up. Bearing in mind 2 tickets cost me £80, with a £6 programme on top, I do feel that I was slightly short changed yesterday. Yes it was good to see Nicholls do so well, and for Pedersen to win, but what makes a speedway meeting is overtaking, and lots of it, not processional racing. For people who happened to be there for the first time what would they have thought? Whoever makes the gate first wins I would imagine. Good to see Harris come in for the unfortunate Anderson, although in truth he should have been picked as one of the 2 wild cards in the first place, judging by this season's form. And it was a shame that Hancock missed out on a podium place (again), but hopefully he breaks this habit in the next round. I'll still go again next year, but I just hope that they find a winning formula for one-off tracks sooner rather than later, before people start deserting the GP series in droves.....
  20. Hello Eveyone, It's your old friend Ezekiel here! How is everyone? I'm not in the mood for waffling, so I'll be brief. It looks like I won't be going to the Cardiff GP now for personal reasons, so I have 2 tickets going begging, should anyone wish to make me an offer for them. They are both in Block M32 in the 4th row and cost £40 each, but if anyone makes me a reasonable offer then then can have them. A double room is also available at the Innkeepers Lodge in Cardiff, if people need accommodation. If anyone is interested please contact me as soon as possible.
