  1. I think the top and bottom of it is that fans won’t watch poor teams, there have been and there still are chances to improve the team but for some reason it never gets done I for one won’t be back until we have a better team as I now have other things I do on a Sunday and it will take me something special/ different to get me back
  2. I don’t see the point in changing George for someone similar unless you had bigger plans in place, we are weaker now by a further 2 points, you might as well have stuck with George so he gets the experience and is our asset the piece in the star by BWD is interesting and it no way says he’s withholding his services……..
  3. This is not going to make us any stronger, it’s the main body of the team where changes need to be made and as others have pointed out there are riders out there they just need convincing, how does Rob think this is in anyway going to make us better
  4. I will be very surprised if there are any changes for the weekend,if there are exciting ones it could possibly tempt me back but not with the current team unfortunately
  5. I’m afraid to say in the majority of sports poor teams generally means poor/lower crowds and speedway is no different
  6. Seriously embarrassing now 28 points at home and 11 from a guest, 1 point from reserve as opposed to 19 for Redcar, why no guest for Starke ?? We are now a laughing stock and have been for the last 2 years, such a shame from a once top club
  7. Yes great gesture by the promotion but it does say with an adult and are the adults going to watch the current team. but what does that have to do with the incentive to sign a no1
  8. That was my point there is no incentive for Rob to sign a new no1 if he can use guests for the rest of the season so he probably won’t and it will possibly be cheaper as well
  9. Have I missed something have we had an investment of £50k into the club as I can’t remember seeing anything in print
  10. Why go out and sign a no1 when you can just borrow everyone else’s
  11. Actions speak louder than words so we’ll see in the week ahead……however haven’t we heard this before
  12. I haven’t gone at all for the last 2 seasons for various reasons but I have put my hand in my pocket on several occasions last year for go fund me and I even bought online tickets knowing I wouldn’t be going but not this year ,the team at the start was well under the points limit and built for failure from the beginning and wasn’t the bright new start that everyone wanted to build on the optimism of the end of last year,we haven’t reached 30 points away from home yet, weathers, wright, clegg are all hard working never give up riders but they need a leader someone who is going to win races home or away, starke is a decent heat leader the building blocks are in place
  13. This team is far worse than last years at least in barker we had a genuine heat leader who would win races given all of his faults tonight was just a glimpse of the rest of the season if something is not done and fast or we will have the bowl out again and people won’t be anywhere near as generous as last time, it’s a huge shame given the great history of a team I’ve supported for over 40 years it just makes me sad
  14. Just watched the stream up to heat 12 and switched off, it just seems that everything is a bit of a shambles this has got to be the worst Newcastle team ever a morale looks rock bottom all ready
  15. For my tuppence worth if we look at the crowds at the end of season playoff finals in both leagues they were really good and that’s what a good winning team brings you, weak teams, loosing teams generally equates to lower crowds this happens in all sports not just speedway, I’ll reserve judgment until the last rider is signed but at the moment it is looking average , I hope I’m wrong but it doesn’t look like a team that will increase their averages greatly
  16. As you say he was persuaded to do so by the governing body against his better judgment, I don’t think that is naive he is taking notice of those who have allegedly more experience and therefore in a better position to offer sound advice which turned out to total and utter rubbish
  17. I think that’s a bit unfair on Newcastle the biggest problem they had was large unknown tax bill from the previous promotion, they wanted to start a new company when they took over so they had no come back from the previous promotion but the BSPA Bodies persuaded them it was in their best interests to keep the existing company for voting rights etc.
  18. If you bothered to read a previous post instead of grumbling you would have noted that I said I didn’t think I would make it but I still bought 3 tickets online….
  19. I think you have probably hit the nail on the head there when you get 50,000 at Newcastle and 25,000 at Sunderland plus footballs not cheap either so you can only do one of them plus the local papers aren’t really that bothered about speedway any more and it only gets a mention on the news when Geoff Brown is on. I do think a competitive team has a massive influence also a winning team will always be better supported football being the greatest indicator ,I appreciate everything that has gone on this year and you have to cut your cloth accordingly , in my personal opinion I think the change of race time has had a massive effect especially for me as I can’t now make it and I think that will be the same for a lot of families
  20. Is there any chance of bringing anyone in before the transfer window shut
